Just one game today. However, judging by the final results of our Captain’s Poll there may be a lot riding on this for a lot of Fantasy Managers out there – yours truly included. The Dugout Discussion welcomes Spurs and QPR to their technical areas…

Spurs XI: Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Parker, Modric, Bale; Van der Vaart; Adebayor

QPR XI: Kenny; Young, Hall, Ferdinand, Traore; Barton, Faurlin, Derry, Wright-Phillips, Taarabt; Helguson

Tottenham make just one change from the side which won at Blackburn last week with Ledley King returning to the fray in place of Sebastian Bassong with QPR following suit in the single change stakes. Armand Traore returns in place of Clint Hill.

Then, when this tie is said and done, we go back to our lives and wait for Monday’s bonus point haul and Stoke playing host to Newcastle in the final fixture of the gameweek tomorrow evening.

I'm already looking forward to next week! Nearly all the big boys playing Saturday. Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool at home to sides they should beat. Man City with a decent looking away match. For the first time in 3 weeks, no heavyweight clashes. Hopefully not too much rotation either..and I think alot of us could get some decent returns!

Anybody else looking ahead with confidence?

I'm not too happy with my defense (likely to be Enrique. Simpson and Boswinga) but I'm hoping RVP, Nani, Van Persie, Aguero and Sturridge can get some good points..if selected of course!

    So its either

    1. Walter/Brunt for Petrov, cash left over to change Ferguson
    2. Ramsey & Ruddy in for Kenny & Petrov, 4pt hit

I like number 1, Walters and Brunt both good players and both on penos, well Walters for sure but I think Brunt too - he took the last one for WB, even tho he missed it....

Also wouldn't take a 4 point hit to bring in Ramsey and a keeper who can't keep a clean sheet, if it were ramsey and a good keeper you needed for next week it could be different...

No idea if it's a one off tbh. Fergie said they were aware of conceding too many shots and thought this came from being outnumbered in midfield. I'm personally not sure Rooney is the answer to that. SAF loves Hernandez and Danny Pele though. Rooney hasn't scored in 5 matches though, with all the good strikers around that would worry me. I don't have Hernandez still but i wish i did.

I think we'll get back to form if we start to put out the same side, rotating farrrr too much at the moment. Fergie did say that his positioning of Rooney worked...it's worrying but hopefully we'll grab a couple penalties 🙂

By the way, I'm shocked by the lack of criticism Coyle is getting. Gary Megson was able to keep that Bolton team afloat and was chastised.

Because he seems to be a nice guy (more likeable than Megson at least), and masquerades as a manager who likes to play good football (Bolton don't play good football, they just defend like a stereotype of a team that does), he seems to get of so lightly. owen Coyle has never established himself as a Premier League manager, he just got Burnely in through the play-offs and jumped ship when he saw it sinking.

If you keep Suarez through the Chelsea match, you might just as well keep in through the City match as well. Suarez is a season-keeper who will collect even more points during the season in addition to him being guarenteed playing time. With Ferguson's rotating policies I'm not sure I would go for Chicarito. You can never be sure who he'll start, and next week it might just as well be Berbatov and Rooney. Chicarito is bit much to risk for me... :/

Wouldn't say that's his biggest issue. The Baggies have improved defensively over the summer with Hodgson running the show. Both Foster and Olsson are candidates for a few clean sheets this season. Apart from the upcoming gameweek, both your keepers have a nice set of fixtures coming up, so I would stay with Foster, but go with Vorm for the weekend.
@KuytHero: You might considering transfering out Ward after the Wigan match, that's at least what I'm thinking of. Ever since the start of the season he haven't impressed, and Wolves are leaky in the back. I also got rid of Hutton for Shawcross this gameweek since he hasn't impressed either (just my luck he got the assist yesterday, hopefully Shawcross will get the clean sheet).
Petrov is also a wildcard at the moment since he keeps getting substituted out at the 60 minute mark all the time (the last two gameweeks).

yea was thinking of ward>assou ekotto, would that be better than hutton>ekotto in ur opinion? also dont plan on playing petrov at all anytime soon, just waiting so that I can take him out without taking any point hits... might do petrov > cleverly in a few GWs...

If you can afford it, I would take Ward out before I took out Hutton. McLeish has a very defensive philosophy, and even though Villa haven't kept that many clean sheets these first weeks, they will come eventually, and that was why I had Hutton in my team in the beginning.

People give your ideas on what to do with Kompany. The upcoming fixtures look horrible and probably wont lose much cash if I want to bring him or Richards back in later. But who to replace him with, Jones seems like the obvious choice, but I still have a feeling the reason he has not been rotated has been down to most of the back line being injured, now with Rafael, Vida and Ferdinand back it looks like De Gea might be the way to go.

What do you think, please give reasoning for your opinion.

Is Gervinho and RVP too much arsenal given their good fixtures

my thinking if RVP has an off day chances are Gervinho will score good points instead

My plan is to wait a couple of weeks and see how Suarez and Ade pan out, then bring in either Hernandez or Gervinho. Thought there was a chance Gervinho would have been classed as a midfielder, if he had been I'd already have him.

      sinclair-meh.
holt -not starting (despite scoring off bench)
ferguson- dodgy considering all the rotation his season
tierney- would get wilko instead as doubling up on norwich is.... risky

I think I will keep him despite his goalless result for a few matches. Spurs attacking play is fun to watch.. 🙂

Well I am starting to have my doubts about him. Failed to score against Blackburn and QPR. Had him in team since gw6. If Hernandez looks like he is a definite i will get rid of Ade. Ade is very hit and miss.
