The Dugout Discussion turns on the floodlights tonight as we close out the gameweek with Stoke playing host to Newcastle this evening…

The home side make two changes from their last league tie – Jonathan Woodgate recovering from the midweek cup tie versus Liverpool in time to return and Jermaine Pennant back in the side in place of Dean Whitehead. The visitors, meanwhile, make a solitary change with Cheikh Tiote unfit and Danny Guthrie filling the void. Teams in full are…

Stoke XI: Begovic; Wilkinson, Shawcross, Woodgate, Wilson; Pennant, Delap, Whelan, Etherington; Walters, Crouch

Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, S Taylor, Coloccini, R Taylor; Obertan, Guthrie, Cabaye, Gutierrez; Ba, Best

All eyes on the Potteries as Fantasy Managers look for one last boost to their gameweek ten scores.

        there is no answer;

        25% chance of picking 50
        50% chance of picking 25

It is like, "this sentence is false"

          Not entirely true.

It is a trick question. Assuming that there is a correct answer (which is fair) then the answer would be 33.3% (recurring) as there are 3 different answers.

The confusion occurs from the fact that 25% is listed twice, as well as 50%.

Yeah that's not a bad plan.
But I was thinking of getting Helguson in Ba out to free up cash to get Jones eventually.
But its an option I can consider now.

A real dilemma for me as a I rate nani highly but looking at the reality.

Nani is now a big rotation risk and Fergie seems deternined to be more solid means Nani's lack of tracking back will also count agianst him.

Then you have Mata chelseas best player and looks under no threat of losing his place and is scoring well and is cheaper than Nani.

Yeah thats a tough call. A bit risky to buy in Nani at the moment. Best to wait a couple of games. With Torres back Mata will start playing better as well. Mata is the best short term option. Long term? who knows

Is it worth me playing my Wildcard after this weekend during the international break?

    Given, Schwarzer

Simpson, De Leat, Taylor(Swa), J Enrique, Brown
    VDV, Silver, Ramsey, Moses, Dyer
    RVP, Suarez, Torres

For me the only nailed on players I have that I will not sell are VDV, Silver and RVP. Everyones else could be sold or swapped around based on up coming fixtures and form

This will be my team for this weekend then I am thinking of changing things up with the WC.
    Yay or nay?

I am SOOO lucky. Won my H2H FFS reserve league match by 1 point because of Shawcross injury.

Last week I won by 1 point because of a solitary Gerrard BP.

That's 8 wins out of 8. I think I've gone from 4th to 2nd. In Like Flynn loses top spot.

Awful w/c team. The defence is shocking. Midfield too expensive, and Ba is classic points chasing (have seen Newc fixtures?) Stick with your pre w/c team.

Repost as bottom of last page

All my plans led up to getting RVP after the Chelsea game (I know poor planning!) but looking at it should I lose Suarez for him considering next weeks fixtures? Or drop Rooney for him? Would still leave me with a lot of cash in the bank but no united coverage?
Rooney or Suarez to RVP for this weekend?

My dilemma too. Tough call, but a few things worth considering. 1) RvP has a midweek Euro game to come through (just saying...!), 2) Roon in midfield is unlikely to be Fergie's long-term plan (and he's still on set pieces against Sun at home), 3) Suárez is getting & creating plenty of chances at the mo. Unless you're pressed for cash, sitting tight until the w/e might be a good play...

Cheers for your thoughts Zeus. I am hoping to be able to hold on til Friday to make a decision but the RVP price rises are a pain. Yeah i have plenty of cash for the transfer. Heres hoping he gets rested for the weekend or injured 😉

Smart move in my book. I just hate getting burnt by missed trains though. vdV last seasoneg, RvP and vdV thus far this season.

Perhaps from now on I should operate a strict Dutch-only policy. Welcome to my team Krul and, er, de Jong?... Hmm.

Am i dreaming? My beloved Toon are 3rd, i've had an 81 point haul, with 3 more for Mr Ba to come and to top it i'm now 2nd in my mini league.

All i need now is a date with Rachel Riley from Countdown and my life is complete.

Definitely not b). Petrov -> Walters probably the safe move, as you shouldn't be dropping the pig with those fixtures (and you have Ramsey and no other Utd coverage), however no RVP is worrying.

Hmmm, if pushed i'd probably do a) and captain RVP

Just got back hoping to find Stoke had responded to I L F's prayer (should have got Holysee to bless it) and they've gone and ballsed it up. I give up with defenders. All this planning and studying for f all. At least Walters scored and should get a BP.

Unbelievably, my mate bought in Ba this week. My immediate response: ''I wouldn't expect massive returns as he's got some shocking fixtures coming up''.

    *sigh*

What are people's views on this defense:

Bosingwa (blk), Enrique (SWA), Simpson (EVE) SUBS: Gabbidon (MCY), Kompany (qpr)

Is it worth downgrading either Bosingwa or Kompany? I'm even considering dropping Enrique after (SWA)

reckon this could be a blessing in disguise(ish), the shawcross injury. he hasn't looked a goal threat all season and 1.1mil can be saved crabbing to wilkinson. wilkinson will probbaly never be absolutely nailed on but as long as your 4 other defenders are i think he's worth the risk over shawx.
this isn't knee-jerk, i'd been very uneasy about shawcross since the second i confirmed him in last week, was slightly priced out of so many transfer plans as a result.

Bit of a problem with Wilkinson that he doesn't go up for throw ins or corners though imo. For a team like Stoke who score so much from those situations you should probably try to get a defender who is in the mix up there at least.

shawcross in the only one really (wilson classed as a mid, woodgate injury prone and slightly rotation prone, same as upson) and i checked after my transfer (wish i did it before) and shawcross had one effort on goal in 9 games, a header harmlessly off target

Couldn't agree more. Regretting every second of my Shawcross dabble, esp. when I could have picked up Walker and been done with it. Do agree though that given Stoke's home fixtures, having them covered is a good bet, and £4m Wilko is as good a bet as any right now, but with better value...

V hard to say. I need to switch M.Petrov soon, currently battling out in my head which one to go for. At the moment I'd have to say Larrson given the consistency he's shown. But Drenthe could be a good bandwagon to anticipate.
