The Dugout Discussion turns on the floodlights tonight as we close out the gameweek with Stoke playing host to Newcastle this evening…

The home side make two changes from their last league tie – Jonathan Woodgate recovering from the midweek cup tie versus Liverpool in time to return and Jermaine Pennant back in the side in place of Dean Whitehead. The visitors, meanwhile, make a solitary change with Cheikh Tiote unfit and Danny Guthrie filling the void. Teams in full are…

Stoke XI: Begovic; Wilkinson, Shawcross, Woodgate, Wilson; Pennant, Delap, Whelan, Etherington; Walters, Crouch

Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, S Taylor, Coloccini, R Taylor; Obertan, Guthrie, Cabaye, Gutierrez; Ba, Best

All eyes on the Potteries as Fantasy Managers look for one last boost to their gameweek ten scores.

Who was the guy who was saying that the previous 3 weeks he brought in a defender who got injured and this week he brought in Shawcross?

I really wish Spurs would tighten up at the back, BAE would be an absolute steal.

Might still get him, these fixtures are sweeeet.

He seems to park himself in the opposition's half when Spurs are in possession. Think Walker will outscore him but ain't worth the extra 0.5.

I think they should just give up on him, unfortunately - better to have a slightly worse player who can play every week and get an understanding with his CB partner, than the excellent King playing 1 game a week if he's lucky, and not training and building up that understanding.

I have had Evans since the off, he did a good job apart from that red card in the derby game. Not sure if he's going to get many starts, but with Fergie putting him ahead Rio on the board, Smalling injuried and Jones playing well at right back, he would.

I'd say get Jones. Jones is currently the RB with Smalling injured and will offer better potential for attacking points. With Rafael about to return from injury, if he plays at RB I'd expect Jones to get the nod over Evans at CB, but it's a tough call. Either or both could keep playing etc, so PJ's extra attacking potential sways it for me in the meantime...

Get 1 or even 2 of the big hitters out of defence so u can upgrade elsewhere. 🙂

Ba has turned an average gameweek into a good gameweek - even better come baps tomorrow i hope 😛
Only downside is the fact i'm playing ShawX with Simpson on the Bench.

And the ShawX injusry and Kompany red means i need to reshuffle my defence for next week.

But still, 64 at the moment, potential of 68 with Ba bps makes a good gameweek for once, i've nearly broken the top 100k

FF is a great game, but it's game weeks like these that make me want to scream. My H2H opponent hasn't moved his (C) armband from Ba for the last 5 weeks. As things stand, I will lose to him by 2 points. I captained VDV this week. Simpson is sitting on my bench. Bullet. Head. 🙂

Every year I start and think "maybe I can win it", then I play against Dzeko scoring 4 or Bale scoring 2 lol.

The guy I'm playing this week took a 20 point hit last week and has a rank of 1.7 million yet he's going to beat me this week.

How long will Shawcross be out for? I’m hoping he’ll back after the international break or else i’ll have to transfer him out.

It's tough to say so early, but he looked like he just did his groin.
