Ten gameweeks into the season and Aaron Ramsey is the leading Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points scorer in the Arsenal midfield. Despite the likes of Theo Walcott playing wide right in the front three and Mikel Arteta’s set-piece duties, the young Welshman betters both his team mates’ tallies, with 37 points to the duo’s 34 respectively.

As the season unfolds, Ramsey is growing accustomed to his role as the furthest forward of Arsenal’s central midfield three; he’s either scored or assisted in four of his last five appearances, with 3 assists in his last couple of home games highlighting his Fantasy potential.

With the player having fully recovered after the horror of last season’s broken leg at Stoke, Arsene Wenger has been full of praise for his recent performances:

“I believe Aaron is on the way up. We speak about Robin van Persie a lot but people forget he has been out for one year when he was just getting into the team and that is tremendous. That he is improving now is normal because he is young. At his age there is still a lot of room for improvement for him. The worry we had was that he would be psychologically touched by the fact he was out for such a long time and we would see that when he goes into challenges. He got over that hurdle and I have been impressed with the way he dealt with the whole situation.”

His manager’s faith is shown by Ramsey’s game time. In the absence of Jack Wilshere, he’s been an integral part of the Gunners midfield in the post-Fabregas era. Aside from missing the gameweek eight home clash with Sunderland, Ramsey had played every minute of the league campaign thus far and has been a pivotal figure in a recent return to form that has seen the Gunners win eight of their last ten matches in all competitions.

Priced at 6.6 in FPL compared to Walcott’s 8.8 and Arteta’s 8.1, for example, Ramsey not only offers a way in to the Arsenal midfield right now, he looks the best option altogether. Owned by 10.9% of Fantasy managers, he’s already been transferred in by over 21,000 ahead of this weekend’s home clash with West Brom. With a very favourable run of fixtures that reads (WBA, nor, FUL, wig, EVE, mcy) there’s no doubt the young Welshman has both the form and the fixtures to prosper over the next few gameweeks as the new-look Arsenal start to click into place.

this is a repost from a question i asked yesterday but didnt get much response:

Why is Vincent Kompany much preferred in FPL to Micah Richards?
    -They both play most weeks
    -Richards is 0.2m cheaper
-There is only one FPL point between them
-Richards has much more attacking threat, especially in terms of assissts

Yeah rotation risk players can be a ball ache and nailed on defenders means less need for 4 point hits defensive transfers.

Richards is a bigger liability IMO, more likely to be rested - although this season he's already played more than I expected...

Kompany was a BP magnet but now the rules have changed and City have so much talent up the top of the pitch he's not seeing as many come his way

They used to be the same price, as you said only one point difference but do you expect Richards to get 16 assist this season? If he does, they'll probably end up with the same points total.

A player with 32 shots on goal, and 0 goals is clearly quite shite, how many chances should he get before one goal? Ridiculous. Never had him in my team and never will. Have had Bradley Johnson in my team since gameweek 3, 2goals + "assists 🙂

Anyone considering getting rid of Rooney i know he has nice fixtures but due man utds injurys in midfield with Fletcher and Anderson doubtful and Carrick Giggs Cleverley All ruled out of the sunderland game he is most likely to play their with Park so anyone considering sellling for Chicharito or Welbeck???

No. Rooney is likely to go back to his normal forward position with Carick back training and Fletcher is fit. I really hope Rooney smashes in a huge total to make the many thousands regret selling him this week.

Chicharito imo is a better option. Nothing to stop Fergie bringing Rooney back in midfield even he does play him back up front soon. Either way, even when he is playing up front, he is never the furthest man forward

Rooney showed last night he doesn't have to be that far forward to score. As long as he has the ball in and around the opponent's penalty area, he can score. Chicarito is a better option than Welbeck but not Rooney. Rooney will start 95% of Utd games and he's likely to go back to his normal position of just behind the other striker, whether it's Chich or Welbeck. Selling Rooney now would be a mistake with the fixtures they have. Many will have sold him to get RVP and that's fair enough, but personally I would have both RVP and Rooney.

Have dropped Rooney for Welbeck and have funds for Baines, Drenthe next week, I also have jones and cleverly as some cheap man u cover just hope that cleverly shrugs off his ankle knock and remains injury free for a while as think he could be great....ironically if cleverly were a more permanent fixture I would want Rooney back as think he would certainly move back up front and benefit, this stint in midfield will haunt many but if he plays again in midfield this weekend there could be a proper knee jerk!

        Cheers Janner.

He's already dropped a lot this week alone. Not having VDV is hurting me at the moment but was warry of this idea that Defoe and VDV can't play together but it appears Defoe just isn't going to get a game which I find strange.

Dropping Roo woudl mean I have no Utd cover and that is an issue.

SAF said Fletch will play on Saturday. Carrick is back in training, Anderson is a doubt but could still feature, even Jones can play CM if Rafael is fit to play RB.

My team prediction: De Gea; Jones, Vidic, Evans, Evra; Nani, Fletcher, Anderson, Park; Rooney; Welbeck.

Yeah Ramsey is a great shout, i have him and havent regretted one bit. i know how you feel aout mata, i had him right from when he came in, shipped out 2 weeks ago, i stuck with him yet didnt see any returns, i only said him as i feel he's improving, personally i'd love to have lampard in my team, i wouldnt worry too much about having united cover, if united aren't at full strength, which they aren't with 8 injuries in total, then there's only reliance on nani (rotation & out of favour with valencia maybe) Roony (playing deeper) and chiquo (most favourable), so in essence the points could come from anywhere but in small amounts i'd say from united, its either mata or lampard or ramsey for you i feel mate, i'd go with lampard 🙂

How could this team be improved: (£0.2m in bank)

    Friedel Ruddy
    Tamas Jones Simpson Brown Shawcross
    VDV Silva Petrov Larsson Neville
    Ba Hernandez Rooney

It is my 6 year old brother's (crazy about football) wildcard team which, he picked all by himself with no assistance or suggestions. Pretty good I think!

Hello all! Like many I have used my FT this GW to ship Roon > RvP

with the IB coming up, wanted to know what ppl's thoughts were on my line-up

    Krul / Vorm
    Raylor / Naylor / JEvans / Enriq / Simp
    Larsson / Silva / VDV / Murphy / Dyer
    Ade / Aguero / RVP

thinking Murph > Sess / Walters
    Dyer > Allen
and/or downgrade Enrique and upgrade Ade (> chiq?)

Why downgrade Jenny for? Quality Liv def with assists and bonus potential for mid £5m range.

Are not needed with VdV, maybe Sturridge for Chelsea cover.

Evening all! I am having a bit o a crisis with my squad. At the begining of the week I was prepared to save my transfer, now it seems I have been forced into it.

    My team is:

    Given (Vorm)
    Enrique Simpson Shawcross (Brown) (Kompany)
    Ramsey Silva Walters VDV (Dyer)
    Sturridge Rooney RVP

    My possibilities are:

    1.Shawcross >>>> Wilkinson
    2.Rooney >>>> Hernandez
    3.Kompany >>>> Jones

Attention all Steve Taylor owners... Am i the only one impatiently waiting for him to pop up with a goal or two?? He was an absolute goal machine for the amount of minutes he has played in prior seasons, surely there's one just around the corner?

True... Messers baines & (if fit) vermaelen wouldbbe in similar category. Perhaps in coming weeks we will see a shift of points scoring towards big hitting defenders with gol threat? Who knows

Any Villa fans here think bannan will play this weekend? He's going to be on my bench but seeing as I also have De Laet and Kompany on my bench, I won't have any subs if Bannan doesn't not play. Want to keep hold of my weekly FT for the IB but could shift De Laet out if pushed to do so.

Yeah, I guess so but just not that keen on any of the available 4M defenders at the moment. I guess I've been ignoring this problem for such a long time and just wanted to procrstinate a bit longer. I think Wilkinson and McCauley have been suggested as my best options to swap him with.

is it worth going with dzeko and aguero up front, or a case of too eggs in one basket? trying to decide between dzeko upfront and lampard in mid. (playing telegraph fantasy football where clean sheets for midfield and bonus points don't exist)
