Playing three expensive strikers has been a popular strategy for many Fantasy managers this season, but being forced to look at Victor Moses’ name in their squads week after week has forced many to reassess.

The incredible form of Robin Van Persie has made the Dutchman almost undroppable, but Sergio Aguero, Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez are all stuttering in terms of potential going forwards. Playing with two budget strikers opens up the potential for a big midfield of consistent performers, especially when you consider the recent form of budget options such as Demba Ba.

With this in mind we’re focusing on strikers this week and specifically, those who can bring you the greatest value over the coming weeks. Our first two options are particularly interesting as they effectively come as a pair- Blackburn and Bolton’s fixtures rotate very well over the coming weeks meaning you can choose to play one of the two each week and be guaranteed a decent fixture.

Yakubu
Steve Kean has taken a lot of stick in recent weeks, but you can’t argue that Blackburn haven’t been fun to watch. They’ve scored three or more times on five separate occasions this term including four against Newcastle (in the Carling Cup) and Arsenal, and this weekend’s match against Chelsea offers the potential of another high scoring game.

Despite their terrible defensive record, there is still plenty of value available amongst the attacking options. Junior Hoilett is a viable alternative, but Yakubu –owned by a mere 0.5% of Fantasy managers- offers the greatest goal threat and is 0.5 cheaper at just 5.5. With penalty duties apparently falling to the Nigerian after scoring from the spot in the Carling Cup last week, Yakubu presents an excellent differential option over the coming weeks.

David Ngog
The summer signing from Liverpool has started Bolton’s last four league games, ousting even Kevin Davies from the first XI when Owen Coyle has preferred a lone striker system. Ngog has only scored once but has managed more attempts on goal over the last four gameweeks than the likes of Sergio Aguero. In terms of creating goalscoring chances, he’s third-top forward since gameweek seven, behind Bobby Zamora and Luis Suarez – clearly, there’s plenty potential to pick up the points.

As with Blackburn, Bolton have been terrible at the back but show enough promise going forwards to make their attacking options worthy of consideration. Priced at 5.4, Ngog looks secure for gametime right now, whether in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 and with a favourable run of fixtures that includes (STO wba EVE tot ALV), the 0.3% owned Trotters forward may prove to be a handy differential over the next few matches.

Andy Carroll
Writing about Andy Carroll as a differential feels odd. Starting the season at 10.0, his price has plummeted to 9.2 after a slow start to the new campaign and as a result, he now sits at just 2.1% Fantasy ownership.

Playing in the shadow of Luis Suarez hardly helps either but over the last four gameweeks, the £35m man is starting to hint at his possible Fantasy potential. Carroll has scored in each of his last two starts and has picked up the maximum bonus points both times, too, outscoring Suarez from gameweek 7-10 by a single point despite far less game time (191 min versus 350 min).

With Suarez owned by 34.7% of Fantasy managers in comparison, the level to which Carroll has been overlooked is particularly significant. Granted, he’s hardly been Liverpool’s most impressive performer but Carroll recently admitted he’s been building up his fitness in training and the hours of hard work finally seem as though they are paying off.

This weekend’s home game with Swansea offers him a chance to continue his recent good form and although Liverpool than square up to Chelsea and Man City, games against QPR, Wigan and Blackburn hint at a prosperous December.

Saving my transfer but I’m having difficulty figuring out my strongest XI this week.

    Currently set as:

    Schwarzer (Vorm)
    Enrique, Warnock, Lescott, Simpson
    Silva, Brunt, VDV
    RVP, Adebayor, Suarez

    Subs: Bosingwa, Moses, Dyer

I'm very, very tempted to do the same thing, especially as Boyata may well be back after the break thus saving me a transfer. I'd love to have 2 freebies next week though.

Your team is very strong so why not just save the transfer and have two to play with during the break?

A last-minute decision, I've decided to strip Rooney of the armband and hand it to Agüero, who I think could do serious damage against that QPR defence. The main reason is my uncertainty of Rooney's position - I won't sell him - ever - but he does need to be up top before I can choose him over my big guns also against weak opposition. Playing him in midfield is madness... I know it's a short-term thing... I'm just not sure if the short-term stretches beyond this weekend... So...

    ...

    de Gea

    Richards Kaboul J.Evans J.Enrique

    Walcott Moses van der Vaart

    Suarez(V) Rooney Agüero(C)

    ...

I've estimated 82 points this week. C'mon Kun!

Keep him, he has nice fixtures for a few weeks more, which's the reason I bought him. It's N.Dyer, if either of them, you should be looking to offload. The midfielders around that price range are utter garbage though, and the ones that aren't have some tough fixtures coming up.

I'd say Moses is probably the best of a bad bunch.

He literally has 0 Goals 0 Assists and 0 Bonus. Finding it hard to keep faith in him. Dyer at least has a goal and 5 BP's and swans look decent at home.

You're right about the rest in that price range being garbage,

Might just hold onto him for now and save a transfer.

I had N.Dyer from the start, sold him this week, mainly due to needing the free cash (switched to Reo-Coker) and his tough upcoming fixtures.

Moses - I felt I'd taken an easy option with him; so many managers had persisted with him for so long, some right from the off, without any return, so it felt fine to give him a shot while most others were selling.

So yep, your best bet is saving your transfer there.

Sell van Persie. The wheels are about to come off in spectacular fashion. Bosingwa also needs to go - he's about to be dropped and rightly so.

I maintain that you can't win this game without Wayne Rooney, so I'd get him in up top. Replace Bosingwa with Richards.

        Mich - Im guessing you are a troll but just in case for some seriously strange reason you are being honest then here goes;
Rooney is playing very deep, has good fixtures but his last last 6 have been 4, 0, 5, 1, 2, 2 for 14 points whereas RVP is Arsenals main man, has just as good fixtures and his last 6 have been 5, 13, 2, 12, 11 and 19 for 62 points, more than 4 times Rooney's score.

Yes, times they are a-changin'. I had van Persie and I've sold him to bring in Suarez this week. I play instinctively. I believe Rooney and Agüero - both of whom I have - are about to hit hot streaks once again while van Persie, subject of a HUGE bandwagon this week, is going to, in the words of Noel Gallagher, fade away.

That's simply my opinion of course, but it's usually a good one. We'll see.

Rooney doesn't have better fixtures over the next 6 weeks though, and you sold RVP for Suarez not Rooney so Rooney's fixtures don't come into it for you in particular.

Looking pretty strong - lacking Man City presence at the back while Given's (I sold him this week) upcoming fixtures are not great, but still pretty strong overall.

I will admit to being Rooney's #1 fan; he's the one player I have in my team from the start and who stays there until the end, no matter what.

I have Walcott for Arsenal coverage, so I'm hoping he can keep in touching distance of van Nazi. The thing is - everyone in my money league has him, so if he flops, the league suffers and I gain. They've had their fun, it's my turn now, theoretically, of course...

I think the key is to have the right players at the right time irrespective of who they are or play for - for example, having rooney when he was on his hot streak and scoring in 8-2 routs against arsenal and now undoubtedly rvp is the man to have, for sure another player will emerge to take the mantle from rvp at some point but i think rvps reign will last a little longer

    Team is:
    Vorm
    Enrique RTaylor Warnock
    VDV Silva Nani Sinclair
    RVP Sturridge Ba
Subs: (Ruddy) Simpson, Moses, Kompany (out)

Only real decision is whether to double up on Newcastle defense with Simpson, or leave as-is with Sinclair on the off-chance he nicks a pk. Thoughts?

Price Change | Sat 4 Nov 03:00 UK Time

    + | Richards, Enrique, R.Taylor, P.Jones ; Walters, Sinclair

    - | Kompany, Robinson (BOL), Aurelio, Clichy, Onuoha
Gerrard, SWP, Frimpong, McCarthy ; Sturridge, Adebayor

I'm quite sure now that FPL have a max 0.3 price change per week. RVP didn't rise despite over 100% on both TotalFPL and FISO. Btw, Sturridge becomes so handy now but his form..

Enrique, Jones and Adebayor for me out of that bunch.
Again a player fails to rise 0.4 in just one week, 3rd time from memory (Dzeko after his 20 odd, VDV last week and now RVP)

I had Raylor, Jones and Enrique up but Ade and Sturridge down.

I've now lost 0.2 out of Sturridge after getting him in last week. 🙁 Knew there'd be goals vs. Arsenal, just didn't expect him to be so poor, so I'm desperately praying for a return to form this week.

According to Fiso, if a player goes up 0.1 after 30,000 NTI then he needs a further 60,000 NTI to go up another 0.1 in the same gameweek, then a further 90,000 NTI and so on. Maybe it's just that no player has had that many NTI in a gameweek yet?

They have them above 100% so they obviously feel they are due to rise
Dzeko was at 400% to rise according to Fiso when he was suppose to have is 0.4 rise.

FISO have the NTI threshold for a price rise at roughly 28,500 right now. So for a 0.4m price rise he'd need 28,500 + (2*28500) + (3*28500) + (4*28500) = 285,000 NTI, if I'm understanding the rule correctly. Did he get that this week?

Unless he needs to be at 400% to rise as he's already gone up 0.3 this week? That's the impression I got with VDV last week; he was on about 70,000NTI on Friday night, which is less than 28000*4.

i agree, tbh im just surprised that they are only at their current figures (in comparison to rooney, aguero, suarez etc) and not approaching mid 20% each but they no doubt eventually will should they continue their rich form of late - despite not really being differentials many players (myself included) have managed to cause some serious damage in terms of pulling back some points on the overall leaders, so in that sense they may still hold some differential value over rooney, aguero, suarez etc

So I know Tiote is more than likely out, I am banking on Shawcross missing so does anyone know anything about Murphy's injury status? WIll not be able to field a full 11 if he misses. Really annoying as I just cracked the top 100K.
