Stoke boss Tony Pulis feels his players are struggling with their busy fixture schedule. Samir Nasri is sent home from the France squad with a knee problem while Carlos Tevez may be in trouble again, after returning to Argentina without Man City’s permission:

Tony Pulis is planning a players’ meeting after admitting his squad have struggled to deal with Stoke’s fixture schedule. The Potters have already played twenty-one games this season and have lost each of their last four fixtures directly after a Europa League match- Sunday’s 5-0 hammering at Bolton raising the alarm bells in particular. Pulis spoke of his concerns:

We’ve travelled all over Europe and played in the Premier League and Carling Cup and it’s been an unbelievably difficult thing to manage. We’re learning all the time but we need to see if there are things we can do better. The travelling, the hotel arrangements, training schedules, everything. I’ve been fortunate enough to get some advice off some of the best managers in the Premier League, but you still have to find out everything yourself.

Samir Nasri has been ruled out of France’s upcoming internationals with a knee problem. The player apparently picked up the injury in last week’s Champions League game in Villarreal and was an unused sub at QPR last Saturday. He has now returned to the club ahead of the gameweek twelve home clash with Newcastle on the 19th of this month.

Spurs confirmed yesterday that Michael Dawson has undergone further surgery to assist his recovery from an Achilles problem. The centre-half hasn’t played since gameweek three and will be reviewed by a surgeon early next month, with no time as of yet being cited as a return date.

Man City have fined Kolo Toure six week’s wages after his failed drugs test, while Carlos Tevez has decided not to contest the club’s misconduct charge relating to the game at Bayern Munich last month. According to reports, Tevez is now expected back at training tomorrow, as City look to finally lay the drawn-out saga to rest. Reports today, however, suggest Tevez could be in further trouble after flying back to Argentina without the club’s permission. Just when we thought we’d heard the end of it, too…

Antolin Alcaraz has been banned for three matches after accepting a charge of spitting following last Sunday’s game at Wolves. The Paraguayan will now miss games against Blackburn, Sunderland and Arsenal and will not be available until the 10th December trip to West Brom. Wigan chairman Dave Whelan will back whatever punishment Roberto Martinez deems appropriate after admitting he’s appalled by the player’s actions:

Steven Pienaar has spoken of his frustration after appearing just once this season –in a Europa League game- for Tottenham. Due to injuries and the form of others, the South African has been a peripheral figure at White Hart Lane since moving from Everton in January but has accepted it may be quite some time before he manages to establish himself:

It’s depressing. The team is playing well and getting results, which is satisfying. But I will definitely get my chance. There are a lot of games this season and you just have to be patient. There’s no way the team will perform at this level for the whole season. You just have to wait. In January I signed a four-and-half-year contract. If it’s not working out this season I’ll just have to wait until next season. That’s part and parcel of football. You just have to keep on going and don’t give up.

After a full investigation, Sunderland have fined Titus Bramble the maximum amount permitted for his recent off-field indiscretions. After confirming the player’s drug test was all clear, the club released an official statement on the matter.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Rvp adebayor aguero

wasnt plan to do any transfers this GW, save them for GW 13.

What you reckon - is it a strong enough team for next gw or do i need to change something

I know its a bit early to decide with probable international injuries but who should i look at using my transfer on for GW12. Current squad is
    Given, Vorm
    Kompany, Enrique, Simpson, Wilkinson, Woodgate
    Silva, Walters, VDV, Dyer, Moses
    Sturridge, Rooney, RVP

Currently thinking of tranferring Moses, Woodgate or Wilkinson.

Nope. Bendy stepped up to take it last weekend. Before the ref changed his mind and did not give the penalty. Bendter is a 90min guarantee, and Sturridge is shit at the moment and may also get rotated. At least he will not get 90mins when Drogs is back.

Nasri. Has he got a potential long term injury?
Or will he be straight in the Man C side after a nice 2 week rest?

I like him as a player and he is capable of picking up FPL points.
But he's a bit expensive for a someone who is not nailed on.

Going to get rid of Suarez providing no injuries before the next deadline. Have the cash to do Hernadez or Aguero. Who do you guys think over the next 5 or so gameweeks?

well the only chaff in that solid looking team is Velios and Johnson. NTaylor could be RTaulor, but not really a problem. You cuould change Johnson for Walters or the Norwich chap who scored the belting free kick.

More importantly though - is Victor Moses the worst bandwagon ever? We've had some right stinkers in the past too, but have we ever had one that we've kept so much faith in for SO long who has NEVER had a single goal, assist or bonus point?

Yeah he has one Jonbovi. He's played 90 minutes in 11 straight games, and had 2 points in 10 of them and 3 in 1. Shocking.

That's also part of why it's so bad, some of the other disastrous bandwagons have been partly helped by the fact that the player has been banned, injured or dropped so we had no option but to sell.

Moses is just the gift that keeps on not giving.

My latest WC tinkering, with a few options:

    (A), Ruddy
    Santos, (B), Brown, Monk, Simpson
    Lampard, VDV, (C), Eagles, Allen
    RVP, Aguero, (D)

    A) Vorm or Westwood (will be 1st choice keeper, no rotation, there aren't any good cheap option)
    B) BAE or Hibbert (both seem like a good idea with fixtures, both will probably turn out pants)
    C) Ramsey or Drenthe (may switch to Larsson after next week anyway)
    D) Ba, Bendtner or Sturridge (Appart from mci, Ba's fixture's aren't that bad, and I've got the squad to cover him, bendtner is a bit unproven IMO and I may get Larsson anyway, Sturridge has been quiet lately)

    Any opinions welcome.

      a) Westwood a good cal but only short term measure. Vorm better for long run
      b) Hibbert
      c) Drenthe. He is the focal point of evertons attack. I would opt sessegnon instead tho
      d) Anyone but bendtner

I'm not buying into the Arsenal defender idea still. Would probably rather have Phil Jones.

      Definitely BAE over Hibbert imo.

That's what I've got, unsure on the other ones.

though it is not in the options, i'd suggest u to get rid of santos. yes, he poses an attacking threat but with gibbs just one week away, i reckon wenger's gonna start the rotation and play gibbs over santos
      as for ur Q:
a)westwood(only cuz vorm's fixtures are unfavorable)
      b)BAE
      c)drenthe
      d)bendtner for now(ba after 3 weeks)

      A) I think Vorm and Westwood rotate quite well - worth the extra .4? If not then probably Vorm.
      B) BAE - He gets forward more and is nailed on.
      C) Drenthe
      D) Ba has poor fixtures, Sturridge hasn't been on form - probs go for SuperNick.

Also was it you who mentioned about the weird info when wikipediaing Phil Jones being a researcher?

    Kompany, Bosingwa, Wilkinson, Simpson, Boyata
    Mata, Silva, vDV, Moses, Dyer
    Sturridge, Suarez, RvP

    2FT.

I think Bosingwa out is an obvious one but not sure who too. Would like to get Bendtner aswell but not sure on getting rid of any of my strikers. Downgrading Suarez for him leaves me like 4.3 in the bank aswell which i feel is too much not to be spending. Only just realised Givens about to drop in price aswell 🙁

I didn't mean to ignore but just had no obvious idea to share. Let me try...

Your GKs can't keep CS and Villa fixtures are getting tough. This should be priority to improve.
3 of your DFs are in doubt to start next week.. We don't know exactly but Bosingwa and Wilkinson are possibly being kept in bench after last week displays. If Boyata could not return, you will be short of DF. Sunderland DF is probably useful addition.

      That's 2 FT.

Prob needs a tweak, but not for a hit.

    >
    > van Persie, Robin
    > Bale, Gareth
    > Dzeko, Edin
    > Eagles, Chris
    > Pilkington, Anothy
    > Sessignon, Stephane

    Hi there

After the season starts player values may change by 0.1 a day based on activity in the transfer market. Both the formula used to calculate this change and the time of the change include variable factors and won't be revealed to game players.

I think Wolves fixtures are good, you would obviously need to bench during che and mun.
I think Bos is dropped now he's been found out for being crap so I would do that. However I think Bendtner will do well the next few weeks

Looking good man, I would personally play Brown over Wilkinson at the moment. Just don't think Stoke's defence is that great this season. Loving Drenthe and Bendtner well worth it for alot of the next fixtures. Good team overall mate.

I wouldnt worry about that, I think Jones is dead cert to play for them with Smalling injured and if he comes back not match fit, and Jones being better then the twins, he will be playing in RB for a while. He is the in form defensive player at the moment, doubt SAF won't play him tbh.

On paper Drenthe & Bendtner have potential to do well. I'd just be a bit concerned about Everton's goalscoring capabilities, or lack of. Dunno will Higginbotham's return put Wilkinson at risk of a starting place.

First XI look solid. Bench could be tinkered with: Allen for Dyer for example, Dyer is fast for sure, but key numbers for Allen (and recent form) are much better.

I have Dyer on my team as well: but just to break it down since they are the same price now (Allen is on the rise!) and they both are SWA...lets look at the #'s

          Dyer average of 3.6 pts/GW
          Allen average of 4.1 pts/GW

and since Allen has been left of the field for 90 min per game (starting in GW 5)

          Allen average of 5.7 pts/GW

          so Dyer > Allen

This post is not meant in anyway to restart the debate over 'assist-gate' but for your interest I have pasted in its entirety an email reply that I received today from FPL towers:

    Hi there

Thank you for your email. There have been a few questions around some of the
    assists over the weekend.

The rules state that 'assists are awarded to the player from the goal
scoring team, who makes the last touch before the goal is scored. If after
this touch, an opposing player touches the ball outside the
penalty area altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist
is given, except if this intervention directly results in an own goal'.

Van Persie was not awarded the assist for Vermaelen's goal for Arsenal.
Upon review by the Press Association, it was concluded that Gervinho got a
touch on the ball so he has been awarded the assist instead of Van Persie.

Demba Ba was awarded the assist for Ryan Taylor's goal for Newcastle.
Demba Ba heads the ball from the throw in and then a defender heads the ball
out before Ryan Taylor scores the goal. As the defender's clearance is from
inside the penalty area Ba has been awarded the assist.

Nani was awarded the assist for the Wes Brown own goal for Manchester
    United.
The incident was referred back to the Press Association who determined that
Welbeck did not get a touch on the ball, so Nani was awarded the assist.

I hope this clarifies any confusion.

    Regards

    FPL

My response to FPL towers email is pasted below:

      Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your kind reply, my (and many other FPL players) do not dispute the final decisions that you have come to. It is the actual points allocation and alteration process that was implemented that we have a grievance with. In the cases that you detailed in your reply to me wouldn't it have been far better to simply withhold allocating any points in the first place until all of the incidents were referred to the Press Association (and then simply allocate the points won to the correct players thus avoiding angering anyone). Surely this would have been a far better solution then wrongly allocating points (when there were clear incidents of contention) and then taking them away again - this is what has really angered a number of FPL players, and it is this issue that has seemingly gotten lost unfortunately.

      Thanks again,

      William Opie

Need some City attacking coverage, sadly lacking since flogged Toure, Saurez out is the only way to do this... Have 1 tranny and 2.1m.

    Should I...

    1. Sit tight see how Saurez does against Chelsea, then next week with second tranny do Suarez+cheap mid (Tiote) to Silva + cheap bench striker (Helguson?) and go 3-5-2? Mid will be Silva, Bale, Sinclair, Cleverely, Ramsey, up front Rooney RVP?

    2. As above but Suarez+Cleverley/Ramsey to Silva+cheap starting striker sub 6.5m?

    3. Suarez>Aguero?

    Think I fancy 1 best?

    Couple of quick votes please

    Who to bench
    1) Moses
    2) OHara

    1FT 0.0 in bank
    Given (Vorm)
    Shawcross, Kompany, Gabbidon (Simpson, Shotton)

    A) Given -> Westwood
    B) Shotton -> Wilkinson
    C) Shotton -> McAuley
    D) Save transfer

    Favouring A)
After praise from Bruce surely Westwood will start the next game.
Swanseas fixtures clear up after this so even if Westwood looses his place I will be happy playing Vorm.
