Stoke boss Tony Pulis feels his players are struggling with their busy fixture schedule. Samir Nasri is sent home from the France squad with a knee problem while Carlos Tevez may be in trouble again, after returning to Argentina without Man City’s permission:

Tony Pulis is planning a players’ meeting after admitting his squad have struggled to deal with Stoke’s fixture schedule. The Potters have already played twenty-one games this season and have lost each of their last four fixtures directly after a Europa League match- Sunday’s 5-0 hammering at Bolton raising the alarm bells in particular. Pulis spoke of his concerns:

We’ve travelled all over Europe and played in the Premier League and Carling Cup and it’s been an unbelievably difficult thing to manage. We’re learning all the time but we need to see if there are things we can do better. The travelling, the hotel arrangements, training schedules, everything. I’ve been fortunate enough to get some advice off some of the best managers in the Premier League, but you still have to find out everything yourself.

Samir Nasri has been ruled out of France’s upcoming internationals with a knee problem. The player apparently picked up the injury in last week’s Champions League game in Villarreal and was an unused sub at QPR last Saturday. He has now returned to the club ahead of the gameweek twelve home clash with Newcastle on the 19th of this month.

Spurs confirmed yesterday that Michael Dawson has undergone further surgery to assist his recovery from an Achilles problem. The centre-half hasn’t played since gameweek three and will be reviewed by a surgeon early next month, with no time as of yet being cited as a return date.

Man City have fined Kolo Toure six week’s wages after his failed drugs test, while Carlos Tevez has decided not to contest the club’s misconduct charge relating to the game at Bayern Munich last month. According to reports, Tevez is now expected back at training tomorrow, as City look to finally lay the drawn-out saga to rest. Reports today, however, suggest Tevez could be in further trouble after flying back to Argentina without the club’s permission. Just when we thought we’d heard the end of it, too…

Antolin Alcaraz has been banned for three matches after accepting a charge of spitting following last Sunday’s game at Wolves. The Paraguayan will now miss games against Blackburn, Sunderland and Arsenal and will not be available until the 10th December trip to West Brom. Wigan chairman Dave Whelan will back whatever punishment Roberto Martinez deems appropriate after admitting he’s appalled by the player’s actions:

Steven Pienaar has spoken of his frustration after appearing just once this season –in a Europa League game- for Tottenham. Due to injuries and the form of others, the South African has been a peripheral figure at White Hart Lane since moving from Everton in January but has accepted it may be quite some time before he manages to establish himself:

It’s depressing. The team is playing well and getting results, which is satisfying. But I will definitely get my chance. There are a lot of games this season and you just have to be patient. There’s no way the team will perform at this level for the whole season. You just have to wait. In January I signed a four-and-half-year contract. If it’s not working out this season I’ll just have to wait until next season. That’s part and parcel of football. You just have to keep on going and don’t give up.

After a full investigation, Sunderland have fined Titus Bramble the maximum amount permitted for his recent off-field indiscretions. After confirming the player’s drug test was all clear, the club released an official statement on the matter.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Rooney won't stay in midfield. Utd's midfield injuries will clear by the next GW and Hernandez will be rotated with Welbeck, and Berbatov will start the odd game too. Aguero is also a rotation risk but less so than Hernandez.

That's a big IF. Only Fergie will know who's playing. The only nailed on attacker for Utd is Rooney so if you get any other forward of theirs, don't be surprised if they don't start the game. Saying that Hernandez can score well even from the bench, so it's up to you if you want to chance it.

        "aguero's fixtures arent that kind"

Does that matter with Man City's form? They've scored three or more goals in every game except against Fulham and Everton (where they scored two in each). Whichever strikers are on the field will score; it's just a matter of trying to second-guess Mancini's rotation policy.

Steven Fletcher returns to full training for Wolves.....and so the O'Hara bandwagon derails.

When Fletcher and Doyle play up front, O'Hara is pushed back and his pts disappear. That's a small piece of soccer factomation for yo ass.

McAuley is a good shout. Wilko is too, although I'm a bit worried about Pulis dragging him off in last week's drubbing.

Gabs has back-to-back away games, so bin that idea, Swans the opposite, but why would Rogers rush him back into a team doing a fine job. Monk has replaced him seemlessly.

theres a liverpool one above in thread.

Quite like the club career timeline ones where you give out list of clubs in order that a player played for them and you have to guess the player.

eg. Sporting Lisbon - Man Utd - Real Madrid = Cristiano Ronaldo (obviously this is one of the easiest)

Vorm is king, we all know this. But which GK to rotate him with? Krul 'the conqueror' or pub player Paddy Kenny? Home fixtures look roughly comparable through to GW20.

    I have 2 free transfers.

    Given/Vorm
    Taylorx2, DeLaet, Enrique, Bosingua
    Silva, VDV, Ramsey, Petrov, Dyer
    Agbon, RVP, Roon

I am thinking Bosingua/Petrov/Rooney all out for Vermaelen/ Drente/ Aguero
    alternatively...vermaelen/ bale/ dzeko...or wilkinson/ lampard/ dzeko

    please advise. thanks

That doesn't counter my point in any shape way or form.

Man City are going to score. Do i then put onuoha in my team. Stats don't lie. 1 goal every 5 hours is poor.

At arsenal a couple of years ago he was getting chance on a plate and screwing up. I don't thin any sunderland fan would dispute that team is better than their current lot. He may score but he won't ever score big.

you can't compare him to Onouha, he may miss some chances but he is pretty much nailed on as the main striker for a team with great fixtures, for the price he is a good pick. He may be a bit of a laughing stock in the UK but he has a great record internationally, so he's obviously a decent enough player

My thoughts atm.....the "bigger" teams defences should start to see more clean sheets....the sunny Autumn days are gone and there will be more grinded out 1-0 wins.

Watching a recorded sky sports Sunday supplement I recorded from end of September when I was holiday, SS is the football journalists debate btw. The 2 topics of discussion are
    1) Should Michael Owen be recalled to the England squad after his 2 goals against Leeds
    2) Lampard is finished at Chelsea, where does he go from here.
Unbelievable, clueless journalism making stories from NON-stories, we're living in a knee jerk society me thinks yet we lap this stuff up and take it as read because some numbnut from Mail, Times, Mirror etc tells us this is how it is!
    Rant over 🙂

          Bye Bye Blackbird

Pack up all my cares and woe, here I go, singing low,
          Bye-bye Blackbird.
Where somebody waits for me, sugar's sweet, so is she,
          Bye-bye Blackbird.
No one here can love and understand me.
Oh -- what hard-luck stories they all hand me!
Make my bed and light the light
          I'll arrive late tonight,
          Blackbird, Bye-bye.

god i hate midfielders, i find them to be very frustrating. considering going vdv-pilk-eagles-hba-moses and strengthening the rest of the team

Know how you feel. My midfield has let be down badly this season (and yes, I have had Silva from the start).

Can anyone shed some light for me on why Shawcross and Tiote haven't dropped in price yet? Fiso says they're over the threshold, but total fpl says they're still under. Any help please?

Protection is active for 7-10 days AFTER their flag is normal again. until then its freefall

They are flagged, which raises their threshhold, I believe.

Gnu, that really is quite worryingly obsessive knowledge of what passes for footie north of the border. I could start with Mac...someone, but it wouldn't get much further than that.

Just think what you might have achieved with a shift in obsession... perhaps eradicated poverty, solved world hunger, or taught Torres how to finish. 🙂

Have 2 FTs, which of these should i do?

Given > Vorm (i have Ruddy)
    Bosingwa > Brown
    Suarez > Bendtner
    Suarez > Hernandez

I also want to swap Moses for Drenthe but feel it'd be stupid to get of just before Wigan play Blackburn at home.

    Advice please. 2 free transfers.

    Given/Vorm
    Taylorx2, DeLaet, Enrique, Bosingua
    Silva, VDV, Ramsey, Petrov, Dyer
    Agbon, RVP, Roon

    thinking Bosingua/Petrov/Rooney out, Vermaelen/ Drente/ Aguero in.
    alternatively…vermaelen/ bale/ dzeko…or wilkinson/ lampard
    thanks

I would keep Rooney if I were you. With Uts attacking mids all prob returning after the break it means he should be back up top for a run of 10 favourable fixtures.
Maybe get rid of Agbon....Villa's fixtures stiffen up.
But Boswingwa OUT should be top priority...can you afford Jones?
