Years ago, this site was but a small, intimate little affair with a sprightly host and never to be forgotten posters, with names like Necromancer, Puffin Boy and Yer Dad. On those pages, in a dark recess, lived a precious little list entitled the “Suspension Tightrope”, where the poor and damned were outed and their misdemeanors listed for all to see.

As this site has grown and grown, inevitably some of the old favourites were left behind, to be replaced by new shiny and fancy widgets. The “tightrope” found itself discarded – names like Ferguson, Keane, Vieira, Reo-Coker, Palacios, no longer had their name in lights.

Now however, it’s time to roll back the years.

For ScoutCast listeners, this wont be so much of a shock, but for anyone who failed to tune in to Mark and Granville’s dulcet tones earlier in the week, let me introduce myself. I’m Anorak and I’ve been resurrecting the Suspension Tightrope over the last year or so. Now the time has finally come to bring it back to the Fantasy Football Scout homepage. Next week we’ll see the widget return in the sidebar – for now, you’ll have to make do with my first round-up.

Saturday’s update sees no fewer than 22 yellows dished out across the games, with two of those combining into an unfortunate red for our first name on the ban list this weekend – Blackburn’s David Dunn. A pair of yellows means a one-match ban to be served in Gameweek 13. Joining him for a one week soiree on the suspension list, we have QPR’s Joey Barton and the Wolves pair of Stephen Hunt and Jamie O’Hara ; all three picked up their fifth yellows of the season today. That quartet replace Blackburn’s Jason Lowe and Seb Larsson of Sunderland who have both served their Gameweek 12 punishment; the FA charge for Antolin Alcaraz means he remains out of the picture.

Banned players for Gameweek 13: David Dunn, Joey Barton, Antolin Alcaraz, Stephen Hunt, Jamie O’Hara

As a couple of names move off the tightrope, they are immediately replaced. First up, fresh from his action packed afternoon is Ryan Shawcross, he picked up his fourth in the 3-2 defeat to QPR. Joining him with the same card count is Lee Cattermole. Two names who are no stranger to suspension tightrope.

Current Suspension Tightrope : Gabby Agbonlahor, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Brede Hangeland, Steve Sidwell, Gareth Barry, Ryan Shawcross, Glen Whelan, Lee Cattermole, Richard Stearman.

We’ll round things up again following Monday’s game, as Gameweek 12 concludes.

After long and careful consideration I've decided that Brain's position as manager of my Fantasy Football team is no longer tenable and he will be leaving by mutual consent, to spend more time with his family. From GW 13 he will be replaced by Gut, hitherto assistant coach.

"It's a results based business we're in and if you don't get the points it's your head on the chopping block," commented a clearly disappointed Brain after another disappointing score."I wish Gut all the best. I'm sure he has the qualities to turn the teams' fortunes around".

Supporters of Luminous Animals FC had expressed bafflement at some of Brain's recent signings, including invisible defender Jonathan Woodgate and non-striking striker Nicklas Bendtner. The manager's continued selection of under-performing Manchester duo Potato and Narnia had also raised eyebrows among the Luminous faithful.

"I don't want to say that Brain doesn't know what he's doing," commented Kevin Beard, co-chairman of supporters group Luminous Action, " but he clearly doesn't know what he's doing. It's time for him to go and Gut's the best replacement. Personally, I blame the chairman. It's disgrace, to be honest".

Internet rumours linking the team with Leighton Baines, Adebayor and Aguero have been dismissed by Gut. "I'd love to bring them in but the money's just not there. How much is that lad at West Brom? Four million? He'll do for a start".

A masterplan of dropping RVP for the Chelsea game worked well. 🙂

After the debacle, was too stubborn to get him in last week, relented this week though.

It's decentish I suppose, but very few of my 'inspirations' have hit the mark, with the exception of getting Bale just before these past two gw's of course.

Capt choices have mostly gone wrong, still long way to go eh.

              Proper team now in link.

Any excuse not to do the work I'm supposed to be doing 8)

We're in the L5 league together Mr.Flynn, so you can gaze upon the under-achievers anytime you like.

But it's true though - I thought about Klasnic all week then jumped on the Bendy bus. Ditto Woodgate, semi-perma-crocked and massively unpopular at Stoke. I've no idea why I bought him, either. Ah well, maybe Enrique will keep a clean sheet and VDV will do something to rescue the week. Cheers all.

I am currently on 696 points with more to come from BP'S in RVP(c),Richards and Jones with Bale and BAE to play..As for what prompted me to transfer him after 8-2?? everybody was calling me crazy but I looked at Arsenal's upcoming fixtures, the form that V.Persie has been all this year and the differential he offered at that time with only 3% ownership, it was a risky move which could have easily backfired but am reaping the benefits.

Think i'm between B) and C). Makes sense to load up on MUN players and unload on MCY players with the next few fixtures. Dropping Aguero is a big call, but I fancy Hernandez to outscore him over the next 5 or so games, so am swaying towards B.....

Yakubu did not think he touched it either. I believe the rule is that a ball should roll one whole rotation, for a free kick or corner is considered taken. If that is the case, the referee has done a poor job.

      (motd btw)

pedersen noticed that the referee was turning his back to the ball and the linesman was on the other side of the pitch. since referee follow the rule "u dnt see it u dnt call it" i think pederson has done a very good job. not the best of goals but they all count.

    Vorm (Krul)
Evans - Brown - Richards (Naylor, Simpson)
VDV - Mata - Nani - Silva (Dyer)
    RVP - Bendtner - Ade

A: Nani > Walcott and .. Evans > Enrique or Jagielka or Walker/BAE
B: Nani > Larsson and .. Evans > Baines. I could even do Bendtner > Sturridge if he do well tonight.
    C: Simply Evans > Turner
D: Keep Evans. Hope Rio will play mid-week and not play weekend. Is Rio fully fit now?
    E: Else to do.

Yes. Few good reasons for Baines, but he's pretty expensive!

        - 5 winnable games in the next six
        - on PK again (Saha, Drenthe, Osman were on the pitch when he took PK)

This week was probably as good as it gets for Baines though.

People buying him in now expecting points-a-plenty will probably end up equally as frustrated as those of us that had him at the start of the season and shipped him out with our wildcards.

Everton don't do cleanies and won't get soft penalties every GW which leaves a lot of potential 1 or 2 pt games.

When you pay £7.8m for a defender you get sick of that s*it really quickly.

Imo, Vermaelen is cheaper, isn't reliant onpenalties for goals and plays in a defence that at least keeps a cleanie now and again.

That's the situation which I was really afraid to happen if I got him.. 🙁

7.8m DF who plays for Everton. Anyway, it's good that he's still on FK too.
I will keep considering if it's reasonable time to invest in Baines.
