You know the drill. The Scout Selection Committee picks three players and Big Dunc’s way with words tempts you with our Friday night trio. Dunc is unavailable for selection this weekend, so I’ve stepped into the breach to deliver this week’s Differentials piece in his absence. Here’s who we have for your consideration…

Steve Morison

We’re backing the Norwich striker heavily this weekend. Drafted in to the “Ones to Watch” section of our official Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Scout article, he gets the nods here for his performances over the last few gameweeks.

The Welshman has found the net in each of his last three games, scoring against Blackburn, Aston Villa and Arsenal, and while the Canaries seem incapable of picking up a clean sheet, he’s been the one consistent source of points in Paul Lambert’s side of late.

Between gameweek 10-12, only Robin Van Persie has scored more goals than Morison, an indication of his form right now. Up next? A home clash with a QPR side that have conceded 11 goals in their last three road trips. Priced at 4.9 and with an ownership of just 1.3%, Morison looks good value to extend that scoring streak at Carrow Road tomorrow.

Phil Bardsley

Back in the Sunderland fold after a season blighted by both injury and suspension, Bardsley‘s presence in the Black Cats’ back line adds a definite solidity. A look at his four ninety-minute appearances so far this term shows just 2 goals conceded for Steve Bruce’s side, despite away clashes against Liverpool and Man United.

With Kieran Richardson shifted further forward, Bardsley seems to have been instilled as the first-choice left-back once again. His performance in the goalless draw at home to Fulham last week was encouraging from an offensive point of view, too, with plenty of goalscoring opportunities produced for team mates.

Wigan roll up to the Stadium of Light on something of a downer after last week’s controversial home draw with Blackburn and the Latics will hardly take heart in their away performances to date. Roberto Martinez’s side have netted just twice in six away games this season and Bardsley, priced at 4.8 in FPL and owned by just 2.1% of Fantasy managers, could prove a decent differential ahead of tomorrow’s Wearside showdown.

Theo Walcott

Ultimately, it may prove a false dawn but (whisper it) there’s a suggestion that Theo Walcott has developed a consistent streak of late. Prior to gameweek ten, the Gunners winger had never scored or assisted in consecutive weeks but he’s now achieved that feat twice in a row.

A goal in the 5-3 romp at Chelsea was followed by assists against West Brom and Norwich and, as Arsene Wenger’s side start to shift through the gears and climb up the table, Walcott is beginning to produce the goods with something akin to regularity.

Given his “previous”, there’s every chance he could crash and burn at home to Fulham tomorrow but with Robin Van Persie’s current form, any pass to the Dutchman’s feet is liable to result in an assist. With Gervinho providing plenty directness on the opposite flank, Walcott is no longer the only real source of pace up front for Arsenal and has almost doubled his haul for the season in those last three fixtures. Priced at 8.8 he’s hardly a cut-price option but with just 3.6% ownership and up against the attack-minded John Arne-Riise tomorrow evening, he may well prosper as the Gunners go looking for their sixth win in seven.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Fair enough, it's like a wildcard team for the future. If the rest of your team is fine then you are lucky. I haven't bothered with defence for awhile & probably won't until the 2nd wildcard.

I don's particularly trust either Swansea or Liverpool to keep a CS. But one of them is playing Villa, and one is playing City.

Just trying to see whether people think Enrique is enough of an attacking threat to warrant playing against MC...

I do (Ade, VDV, Silva, Aguero, Suarez and Ramsey are the other options). But if I'm ever going to go for a random captain choice, might as well be walters against blackburn at the Britannia? Also, none of the above really stand out as captain choices given their fixtures or doubts about injury/rotation.

If only I had RVP and it was that easy..

tricky , Santos when not much happening but Vermallen more likely to get them when he scores.

Im buying Vermallen in a minute , thought about Santos but what swayed it was Vermallens goals and the fact he going be there all year , while santos could be replaced BEFORE next wildcard

Sounds like Santos is a little more of a gamble, but with a higher chance of a larger return... risk vs return..

so u went on the bandwagon without considering this situation 😀
play wilko , he might be benched today as stoke might go back to the roots with a CB playing on the RB.
however ramsey/drenthe is 50/50 cnt have any argument on why to play one ever the other.
every team should have moses, he always solve problems like that 😀

Need a quick clarification on how subs work - Will it only replace like players for like? (thats how I read the FAQ) So for instance, if i play 3-5-2 and one of my mids doesnt play will there be an automatic sub of my 1st choice sub(either striker or defender) I also know the rules also say something abt not altering formation. Thx

it works normally but u should minimum be playing 3 defenders
so if u have 1st choice mid and ur defender dsnt score, its ur 1st chioce defender who will come in.

If any of your players doesn't play, your first sub will replace them regardless of formation. The only time this won't happen is when you have less than 3 defenders who play. In this case, your first sub in will always be a defender, even if he is actually your second sub on the bench.

I have Brown AND Westwood of sunderland

Should i play them both or hedge my bets and play Vorn in goal?

Because if sunderland dont keep clean sheet and Swansea do i would be seriosly peeved at missing out yet again on Vorn points. Or should i go with the best bookies odds on cleansheet and go with the two sunderland players?

Just did my transfer of Evans -> Brown (can't believe I got caught up in that short lived Evans hype). My team is setup like this at the moment:

    GK: Vorm

DEF: Jagielka - Brown - Tiereny

MID: VDV - Nani - Silva - Sinclair

FWD: RVP (c) - Adebayor - Bendtner (vc)

BENCH: Krul - Drenthe - Hutton - Enrique

Do I have my subs right fellas?

Managed to hold onto my WC until now (on 700 pts) so I'm thinking of throwing in the towel and playing it to tweak the lineup just so it doesn't go to waste. Thoughts?

    Current:
    Vorm/Given
    Richards/Raylor/Simpson/Shawx/Olsson
    Silva/VDV/Nani/Walters/Brunt
    RVP/Addy/Studge

    To:

    Vorm/Ruddy
    Richards/Jones/Vermaelen/Raylor/Rangel
    Silva/VDV/Walters/Larsson/Brunt
    RVP/Addy/Studge

Given is a turd and I've been bit too many times by sitting Vorm so I think he's likely to just play every game from here on out, thus I don't really care who backs him up. Nani just doesn't seem to produce enough for his price tag so I figure I may as well downgrade and beef up my D. Can easily bring in Ba for Sturridge in the next few weeks, or downgrade Vermaelan and bring in Chicharito for Addy in a week or two.

    Cheers!

I wish I could say it was because I knew what I was doing! I just started watching this season and got into FPL because a colleague at work got us sucked in. I think I benefit from being a yank with no emotional attachments to any particular team or player. I take guys on form with some thought to fixtures, but a spot of luck here and there combined with riding the Rooney then RVP train has been my only secret.
