Granville may have left for sunny shores, but while he’s sipping on his cocktails, pondering how to juggle his Man City strikers to ensure they miss out on points, I’ve laboured on without him.

I say laboured, what we have this week is possibly the first “grown up” podcast we’ve ever produced, as I chew the fat with an actual football expert, rather than my regular Mancunian pretender.

Renowned football writer, Jonathan Wilson, joined me for a chat, just a week after his latest work – the Brian Clough biography – “Nobody Ever Says Thank You” hit the shelves.

We inevitably talk Clough, discuss the theories behind the Premier League’s goal explosion, the plight of Wilson’s own beloved Sunderland and, of course, pick apart Jonathan’s own Fantasy Football team.

Wilson’s own labour of love – The Blizzard. – is also on the agenda. The quarterly magazine captures some of the best football writing around, delivering in-depth and leftfield articles, ignored by the mainstream football media.

Issue Three is due for release on December 1 in electronic form or print, with back issues available on a “pay what you want” model. You can find full details on the Blizzard’s site right here.

Get yourself a copy after listening in on the chat via this link.

Alternatively, our convenient little player below delivers your goods right into your browsers…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Thinking of bringing in Larsson for Ramsey, Think it's worth a -4? Rest of team is linked.

I'd say no except for the fact Larsson has a very easy target. Wigan are BOUND to ship 3 goals - and those goals will come from Lars, Sess and Bendy. I can see dangerous free kicks. I can see bonus points.

Got my team sorted for tomorrow.
    Vorm
    Kompany, Wilkinson, Walker
    Silva, VDV, Walters Moses
    Rooney, RVP (C), Sturridge

    Ruddy, Dyer, Enrique, Simpson

I know i am a fool keeping Moses in but this is the last time. If he gets less than 3 points he will be tranfered for Rodwell.
In fact I might do that anyway even for a 4 point hit. Who have Everton got? Now i am confused.

He's also only 75% to start, and bear in mind he didn't play last week (I think). But yes, seeing as you have Walters I can see why you are finding it difficult. I'd probably advise to go with Pilkington - could be a surprise package tomorrow. Not seen him in a full match, but on MOTD he always looks in the middle of things.

Moses out for Dyer, Enrique for Wilkinson. Blackburn free scoring at the moment and Stoke have been shocking at the back. Generals comment of Pilkington is a great shout but its not worth 4 points when you have a strong bench. Rodwell is too risky at the mo.

I don't have either, and ideally you'd be able to avoid this predicament. I see the benefit of having Enrique and his attacking flair, but I'd suspect he'll be under instruction to hold back a bit this weekend. I expect both teams to concede, but if one team doesn't it'll more likely be City. Then again, I could be way off!

Dunno how their fixtures align, but you should really have Vorm. But, as I say, depends how his fixtures align with hennessey. Actually you could do with changing both of your keepers.

Can't see Lahor getting anything this weekend - assist at absolute best. Sturridge on the other hand could get a brace - but will he outscore Lahor by 4 points? I think I'd say yes, but it will be tight.

"I too have Begovic and Hennessey. Thought about Sorensen briefly but it’s either Westwood or Vorm for me too. Looking at the next 6 GWs, it comes down to SUN home to Wig, Bla, Eve vs. SWA vs Avl, Ful, QPR. After that it gets nasty for all concerned!"

Cool, i would much rather keep, thanks. Also, whenever players are at 65% they do pretty much always seem to play, all good, leaving it then.

It's so difficult to make it through a week without a transfer. I decided a couple of weeks ago not to make a transfer GW13 to build up to 2 frees. Nothing happened to change that and I was set on sticking to this earlier in the week. Now I'm considering so many options! Team is

    Vorm (Krul)
    Jones, Walker, Naylor (Enrique, Saylor)
    Silva, VDV, Mata, Ramsey (Dyer)
    RVP (c), Ade, Bendy

    £1.7m in bank. Do I:

    a) stick to my plan
    b) VDV to Lampard
    c) VDV to Bale, Saylor to Baines
    d) Ramsey to ???
    e) Jones to Baines

I'd go Barnett, Reo-Coker, Simpson. Get rid of Reo-Coker when you can though

Great team, nice differential with Richardson but don't take a hit for him. I'd get rid of Kompany for the next 4 GW's though.

        How about Kompany to Vermaelen?

Arse have Fulham (H) , Wigan (A) and Everton (H).

Gotta be worth a shout in the short term.

HI Paul, decent squads. Are you wondering about selling Kompany and Moses for N. Taylor and Richardson or is it vice versa? for the 4pt hit it might be a bit of dodge, as swansea are tough to beat at home, but they'd need to not concede and city to concede to just break even. Richardson hasn't shown much form yet to warrent a transfer in, though Moses is playing the Black cats away. I'd probably only do one of them transfers as as and maybe keep Kompany and just but Richardson for Moses (if you have the cash).

Thinking of wildcarding. How's the below with 1.1m spare cash after getting rid of Given, Moses, Best. VDV, Kompany and Orr

    Ruddy/Vorm
    Jones BAE Jagielka Simpson McAuley
    Silva Bale Drenthe Allen Ramsay
    Adebayor RVP Aguero

Scorpius78 that's a decent wildcard team. I've 8 of that squad, but we have 6 of the same front 8. Slight variation on defense but i think you've got a solid rotational defence

Guys, would you do Schwarzer -> Westwood, or Evans -> Brown? (want some cheap Sunderland defence).

The GK swap gives funds for a potential Baines move, but the defence swap removes Evans who aint starting much …

    First to 3 wins 😀
