Back in blighty, I make a long-awaited return to the podcast studio, armed with a barrel full of “miffeds”. Top of list – what happened last week? I turn my back and Mark goes and finds himself a new co-host. Luckily, the concept of Mark sharing the ScoutCast airwaves with renowned football expert was quickly frowned upon by the masses, paving the way for my jubilant return.

I say jubilant, the fact is that Mark established a decent mini-league lead in my absence, giving me a few jibes to duck in between moans. Such banter is sprinkled around the ScoutCast regulars, as we turn our backs of the high-brow discussion of last week’s outing, to plunge the depths of Fantasy football nonsense.

I think that Balotelli will be essential this weekend...

Expect him to be in the scout picks 😉

I had Mario 4 weeks til this GW and regretted every week apart from one when he scores a single goal and I went 'meh'. Totally uncertain to start, doesn't bang them in, commitment issues, and now a bloody red card, he's entertaining but fantasy nightmare.

When you consider CSs are difficult to come by with the exception of Utd and Swansea, you may as well go uber cheap at the back seeing as decent MFers generally cost 6+, whilst Naylor and Simpson only cost 4ish. As much as I want Baines, I agree with Granny on this one.

To all you De Gea owners (from a Norgwegian interview with Crystal Palace left back Jonathan Parr who played with Lindegaard in Aalesund):

-Ellers snakket jeg med (Anders) Lindegaard før og etter kampen, det var hyggelig å se ham igjen og at han gjør det bra der. Han skulle kanskje få tillit til helga igjen (United møter Villa borte, journ.anm.). Han gratulerte meg, og syntes jeg hadde gjort en god kamp, sier Parr.

Quickly translated to: I talked to Lindeegard before and after the game. Enjoyed seeing him again, he is doing good. He will maybe get the nod to play this weekend. He congratulated me and said I played a good game.

    repost from last page

ok guys I’ve asked this before, but now that Tiote (who I’m taking out next week anyway) is confirmed as still out I thought I’d ask again.

I have 2 frees but want 2 next week, so am only using 1 so which of these options is best

    a) Westwood – Cerny (gives me a keeper at home, as who knows about Vorm away, could be brilliant or useless) but would be temorary as I plan on getting Friedel when I have cash

    b) Woodgate to McAuley (gives me an extra guaranteed starter and can maybe start ahead of Raylor but may also be temporary as would get rid of him or Brown for Jags)

    c) Sinclair – O’Hara I have 2 Swans midfielders, and Allen is best in his price range, but would remove one guaranteed starter, but greater possibility of points and more long-term move, but Wolves going back to 4-4-2, which could restrict him

    Team is linked.

Hmm good point, you of course have other options: doubling up on Newcastle-Simpson, or Gabbidon. I just dont see the point in changing the others when you have a good choice of keepers and Swans playing against BBurn should be goals in that one.

but both away, can't double up on Newc as I want to get Ba next week, and Gabiddon would also be a short term transfer. It's irrelevant atm as I can't get on FPL site, I know Jones will play, I know Tiote won't, doubt Woodgate will (though Huth and Upson played cb tonight) and who knows with Aguero, plus Swans don't score many away.

Well actually im gonna shut up about that since I liked him a lot when he was playing in france. Now just coming back from an injury like that, without a preseason. Not having any set pieces and Best breathing down hes neck- I need some convincing. But I could well be on the wagon if he gets it going.

I should think so, if Ba is scoring/assisting, HBA would be the 1 likely to provide. And at 5.4 or whatever he is, he's just so cheap.

He's on my watchlist for when Newcastle have a run of fixtures, I don't see Ba being much better than Sturridge who I'd have to transfer out.

I'm contemplating Ba and Chico as well, not convinced on Ben Arfa though, especially trusting someone just coming back from a long term injury in a league he isn't proven in!

    help please:

    a) Baines & Ba
    b) Jones and Adeb

Can't afford baines & adeb. Already have 2 Tot but no MU. Was all set for a) but now that Fabio looks injured Jones looks attractive again. Long term I want baines anyway for the DGW.

Cheers. My other 2 strikers are RVP & Sturidge. V happy with them right now. I actually freed up the cash for Baines & Adeb last week for a 4 point hit but decided not to take the hit in the end. In retrospect, it would have been the best hit I ever took.

      A.

I think Baines will bring home the bacon, and i'm still not convinced that Jones will play every week, and at that price for a defender the last thing you want is a rotation risk.

    Would you do:

    Bendtner (wol)->Ba (CHE)
    or
    Brunt (qpr)->O'Hara (SUN)
    or
    both for 4 pts

    thanks!

      Could you save your transfer?

I couldn't see either of them outscoring the other by more than 4, Bendtner has the potential for a big score against wolves, and to be honest, so does Brunt.

I'd make the Ba transfer next week

Sunderland have n o manager so its more of a time for bendtner to prove his worth - id rather my striker be playing wolves than chelsea thats for sure - also saves you 4 points or at least a transfer - bendter has blackburn at home the week after too,...

There's goals in the qpr-wba game im sure. Brunt has had 1 good fixture in his past 4, and so hasn't scored. But he's put on a few points vs weaker teams, and I'd back him to get a couple of hauls over the next 3 GWs, especially seeing as WBA face Blackburn and WIgan.

If it becomes clear that VDV is not to feature this weekend, I'm going to take a hit to bring in either Baines or Silva.

Silva obviously as a direct swap, Baines for someone like Brown I would guess. (I have 3.6 in the bank) Problem is City's upcoming schedule and the fact that Silva could be rested for the UCL game, although I doubt it.

If I bring in Baines, my other 4 defenders would be Kompany,Enrique,BAE and Simpson. Going fr him will probably mean that Kompany will be booted next week for a cheapie in order to free up some funds for upgrades further up the pitch.

Any thoughts would be highly appreciated!

Good shout, he has a decent goalscoring record aswell, although WBA find it hard keeping cleanies despite having Hodgson in control..

About the VDV issue, frustration may play a trick on me, just praying he will play as nearly all of my mini-league rivals have got rid.Oh well, guess I will just sit tight and get Baines in after the game at Emirates..

    Current team is:

    Vorm Westwood
    Jones, McAuley, BAE, Simpson, Wilko
    Nani, Allen, Drenthe, Bale, Silva
    RVP, Aguero, Bendtner

Would ideally like to get in Ade this week, have 1FT & 1m in the bank. Problem is it seems daft to take out Aguero and I only brought in Nani last week mainly for Utd's good fixtures. Anywhere else I could fund Bendy to Ade? Is biting the bullet on Nani by downgrading the only real option (and taking -4pts), or would sticking with Bendtner this week and saving the transfer be best?

Cheers yea got to be realistic. Trebling up Tottenham might not actually pay off anyway, plus I only WC'd two weeks ago so would prefer to stick with my guns. Drenthe is getting a bit annoying I agree, so may look at downgrading to Ben Arfa if Newcastle take full advantage of their good run (and he doesn't rise in price too much !)

Interesting curveball thrown in there. Don't like the sound of taking a 4 point hit bringing in a currnently injured player, but if he plays next week for when Newcastle's fixtures REALLY get nice then it might be worth considering, and Drenthe is getting frustrating

    Krul
    Jones Enrique BAE Richards
    Nani Silva Ramsey Bale
    Adebayor RVP

Reckon Everton are on for a CS and Blackburn will score past swansea so Krul and ramsey make it in over vorm/walters...

I would play Walters and Vorm over Enrique and Krul

Stoke fielded 2 regular starters tonight. I still think Everton will win, but not sure of the CS potential though.

As a CFC fan I'm not very optimistic ahead of the toon game, but still think we have more chances of scoring than Blackburn (who looked horrible at Britannia last week)

Walters is playing up front which is great but fitness isn't stoke's issue, its preparation and thery cant hndle 2 games of preparation a week..

Is it just me or do the levels fluctuate quite a lot in the podcast? Do you guys do any editing on it? Might be worth a bit of compression to bring in the range a little.

Ever heard a song on the radio, liked it but not known who sings it. I've just found out Dappy from N'Dubz sings - No Regrets, i am ashamed that i love it.

+1, you think it's worth keeping Sinclair v Blackburn or using my free (with no cash to spare) elsewhere? Team is linked
