Back in blighty, I make a long-awaited return to the podcast studio, armed with a barrel full of “miffeds”. Top of list – what happened last week? I turn my back and Mark goes and finds himself a new co-host. Luckily, the concept of Mark sharing the ScoutCast airwaves with renowned football expert was quickly frowned upon by the masses, paving the way for my jubilant return.

I say jubilant, the fact is that Mark established a decent mini-league lead in my absence, giving me a few jibes to duck in between moans. Such banter is sprinkled around the ScoutCast regulars, as we turn our backs of the high-brow discussion of last week’s outing, to plunge the depths of Fantasy football nonsense.

haha tell me about it, i'm just worried about him not being pushed as its only Bolton they face, but according the article linked below sounds like he really wants to play despite physio's warning him not to and rest his hamstring for 1 more week. i think he'll see some game time i reckon.

Yea that is true, but after the europa league performance they might want a guaranteed win to put em back on it. Yea and all i have read, says that he just wants to get back on the pitch, cant see Harry not playing him when he is fit.

Thats a good point actually yeah especially with that loss they will want a strong return to a win, so if he feels he can start harry would pick him over defore 9 times out of ten anyway, cool, have to wait and see then, might be more indefinite news on him tomorrow if he tweets anything. Man i'm tired, just done nearly 2 hours circuit training tonight, why i decided to do 2 class sessions i will never know lol.

haha! i have no idea, was feeling pumped so i went for it, half an hour into the second session i was being overtaken by pensioners! lmao.
I'm into my fitness now yeah, have only just re-introduced myself to it all after so long just going out getting bladdered every weekend, so making up for it all now, my aim is to get back to full fitness and can start entering more 10k runs then, pulled out of the wilmslow run entry this year as i feel i need more time, but all going well.

Well, your top of the league now so the pressure is on your shoulders haha, should be seeing another green arrow though depending the right players turn up, ive had two in a row now so hoping consistency will re-gather 🙂

Lol nice one mate, thats something i need to start doing, getting back into my fitness and probably start doing protein shakes, because im a pretty thin piece of work. Need to get some muscle and stuff, and i eat alot but it just never adds on to any of my body. Its just well bad lol. Get bigger and hencher, best start to go to the gym. But im pretty shit with weights and stuff like that ha.

Big pressure on the shoulders, in need to bulk them up. Hoping for a green arrow for sure, keep on top and climb the rankings.
What you gonna do tomorrow if VDV doesnt play? Might get Bale in.

Haha, i would love to eat loads and never gain anything, your hella lucky with that haha. Yeah there just comes a time when you get really into fitness again and value how important it is to stay healthy and focused, really enjoying it now, nearly 2 months back into it now, just glad im not injured.....yet lol. I'm only doing light weight work atm, get bigger as time goes on.

Yep, so wishing its the week for my players also, hoping Ramsey will actually return something this weekend also.
Hmmmmm, if VDV isn't certain i am definitely transferring Bale in, just no better player to do it to than him i reckon at the minute...how can we be certain if he doesn't play tho if no news comes through beforehand? its total guess work aint it? would mean a 4 point hit as well to get switch to Bale for me.

So you should always start slowly? Im a bit of a noob to the gym, but know the basics really... but am gonna get into it at some time ha. And hopefully get bigger, do you use shakes? Dont know whether i should.

Ahh i transferred Ramsey out due to the fact that he hasnt been returning much recently... So i got him out and got Larsson in. Just because he has been providing more points per game and sunderland are alright. Hoping Bruce leaving doesnt affect them too much now thinking about it.

I have a problem waiting for news about VDV, its gonna be guess work for sure. I dont think there is anyone else who would replace him... other then Bale. Really hoping he comes out with something obvious over twitter to say he is up for the game. I would have to take a 4 point hit too 🙁

Yeah its always best to start slowly and gradually work up, like setting 10-15 min goals at a time, whether that be running, rowing, cycling, and just increase by 5 mins everyime you visit would be my advice to anyone, its what ive don and now im running for over an hour, great progress from from the 15mins on my first visit lol! plus i've given up smoking, which has helped 100%. i dont use shakes and all that really, i think naturally is the best way, but nothing against it, appeals to different people really.

Oh yeah i remember you saying you transferred in larsson for rambo, sound move, im only keeping him for the wigan game then its au revouir just like torres lol, who is now 'axed' now it says in the paper haha.
I'm hoping VDV lets something obvious out as well hinting a definite turn up for the game, ah well, only hours left for that info to reveal itself, i dont mind the 4 pointer sas its for bale, anyone else for spurs like lennon would have me thinking otherwise lol.

Last gameVDV played he returned too soon, didn't really impact the game, and prolonged his injury, as its against Bolton, I can't see VDV making the bench.

Frustrated with the lack of returns from midfield despite building what on paper looks like quite a solid one. Also feel I need to upgrade a defender (Brown or Wilkinson) but am stumped who to go for given fixtures and rotation. Yes I'm beginning to consider Baines! Tips? 1 FT and 0.5 in bank.

I agree Ramsey has to go but I think Nani is just as pressing, he's a 10m slump. Barfa is on my radar but since my problem is mids not delivering I'm unwilling to gamble at the minute and not against Chelsea. Would like a reliable option - Sinclair possibly, Larsson, any ideas?

I can't touch the Spurs defence at their prices because I don't trust them to keep CS.

Sinclair is the best bet then. He plays as a second striker, is one penalties, and has been unlucky not to get a couple of goals from open play.

I'm a Spurs fan, so I'm aware of our dodgy backline, but I've gone for Walker this week - good fixtures and a DGW on the way, so it's worth a punt.

Ah good to hear you're familiar with Spurs defence! Hmmm, Walker is the most tempting for me out of the Spuds, he's fast and dangerous and overlaps a lot, but has he been getting the attacking points?

Really will consider Ramsey > Sinclair. Or maybe, maybe, Nani > Sinclair. Walters has bugged me for a while but I've stayed away because I think Stoke play awful football. Worth attention or bad timing?

I have Walters, Sinclair and Larsson and would reccommend any of those three. Walters fixtures are not great, but he takes pens, gets bonus points and is on form. Larsson would be a good shout. He has delivered goals or assists in nearly every game he has played and often picks up bonus points

Cheers I really did want to hear about how owners found this trio because I can't afford to ignore them. It seems absurd I don't have any of them but I thought Ramsey could get points behind RVP... wrong! Perhaps I will bring in both Sinclair and Walters/Larsson for Nani and Ramsey. Might free up enough money for Brown > Baines 🙂

You probably have this non-slimmed down version http://www.amazon.co.uk/24-Season-1-8-Redemption-DVD/dp/B0035WT9O8/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1322785262&sr=8-5

Either way, £39.99 or £49 is so cheap considering the individual series are still selling for £15+

I only have the first 5 on DVD and still want to buy this! Wonder if I could offload my 5 on ebay. Not sure they'd sell that well these days

Heroes got very "meh" during the second series.

At easter I watched the ones I had on DVD again having seen every series (I have 1-5 as mentioned) and loved it and watched them all super quick again! I'd forgotten just how good this show really is.

That and I like having the DVDs of stuff even if I'm not going to watch it, if it's something I like....odd I know.

Oh and as for The Wire. I've watched the first 2 series and half way through the third or something. Borrowed it off my mate ages ago but it doesn't really grip me into wanting to watch it and I have no motivation to turn it on, it's good but seriously overrated.

I will get round to it eventually.

I just think I overhyped it. When I saw it get called "the urban band of brothers" it shot up in terms of what I was expecting.

A bit let down, I'm more an action and cliff hanger man than story 🙂

              Not heard of Oz?

Soprano's is supposed to be brilliant but never got round to watching it.

24 movie should be starting filming at some point next year. Kiefer said in October this year that they just needed to finishing writing the script.

Can't really fault that for the spectacle. Although I have to come out with my own confession that I walked out of Jay-Z at a festival last year to see the Strokes. Maybe I'm not enough into rap but he's not THAT unmissable... I think he may have got a little comfy at the top.

Kanye, on the other hand, especially after his "Dark Twisted..." album... unmissable.

How should I structure this? All good as is?

    Hennessey
    Baines Jones Naylor
    Walters VDV Bale Yaya
    Sturridge RVP(c) Adebayor(vc)

    Vorm Hoolahan Simpson Tierney

And yes I know my bench is pure win.

Maybbe play Simpson ahead of Naylor? Pardew has that defence so well drilled and Chelsea could flop again....and I don't fancy a Swansea CS at Blackburn at all.

yes I'm reposting this AGAIN as I still can't make my mind up

ok guys I’ve asked this before, but now that Tiote (who I’m taking out next week anyway) is confirmed as still out I thought I’d ask again.

I have 2 frees but want 2 next week, so am only using 1 so which of these options is best

    a) Westwood – Cerny (gives me a keeper at home, as who knows about Vorm away, could be brilliant or useless) but would be temorary as I plan on getting Friedel when I have cash

    b) Woodgate to McAuley (gives me an extra guaranteed starter and can maybe start ahead of Raylor but may also be temporary as would get rid of him or Brown for Jags)

    c) Sinclair – O’Hara I have 2 Swans midfielders, and Allen is best in his price range, but would remove one guaranteed starter, but greater possibility of points and more long-term move, but Wolves going back to 4-4-2, which could restrict him, but Sinclair is playing Blackburn

0 in bank, Team is linked.

How many of you have one Dutchman holding up all your transfers? And no I don't mean Drenthe...

I suspect we won't have any more of a clue on Saturday morning whether he'll make the bench let alone start. I also think the "he'll do it all in 30 mins cameo" argument is wishful thinking. Really tempted to bite the bullet and go Bale now, but it might be a transfer wasted.

Playing at Stoke will be tricky, VDV could have a tough time with the physicality AND the hamstring 😀 I would say if you're holding onto VDV and writing off this GW, be prepared to virtually write off the next one too, it'll be much harder. In which case a transfer out begins to make sense. If only for medium term.

Yeah there's two issues here. First the injury. If someone has a persistent unusual hamstring niggle that restricts them to say 50% of minutes, you have a problem. Given he's gone and done spectacular damage already, I say get him out until his frigging hamstring is good again.
Secondly Spurs may have changed the balance oof their attacks. I think they're going down the flanks more than the centre now with Bale, Lennon, BAE and Walker providing juicy crosses and cutbacks or cutting inside. I watched VDV the last three games he played and while he played his role good, he's not getting the same goalscoring opportunities he was on THAT run. Instead, I reckon he's holding the ball up more for Bale/Lennon/Adebayor and co.
