It’s the news we’ve been waiting for. Reports have come through that indicate Rafael Van der Vaart is available for Spurs’ home clash with Bolton tomorrow.

While we still await official confirmation from the club, BBC reporter Mike Sewell broke the news on his twitter stream in the last few minutes, to the delight of Fantasy managers. Sewell, at Harry Redknapp’s press conference this morning, has confirmed the Dutchman has overcome his ongoing hamstring trouble and comes into the squad for the Trotters game.

The doubts surrounding Van der Vaart’s hamstring have already seen him transferred out of nearly 56,000 teams this gameweek, easily the most of any player. Those who decided to “get rid” will be hoping he has an off-day at the Lane, while those who have patiently held will be savouring the thought of the Dutchman tormenting an off-form Bolton team as Spurs go for their tenth win in eleven.

With Jermain Defoe having played from the start in Wednesday’s Europa League clash with PAOK, the odds are on Van der Vaart making the first XI tomorrow- he may well get his obligatory 60+ minutes but time and again this season, he’s shown he is more than capable of producing the points with relatively limited game time and will be another strong option for the armband ahead of tomorrow’s game at the Lane.

We’ll bring you more on this as we get it.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    ballls, well on the plus side, at least now I have to captain RVP, as that hog VDV will steal all Ade's shots... Ade will go play meekly on the wings in the middle of the park, playing one twos with scott parker and then setting up VDV for shots.

    How do these transfers look (both for free)

    Sturridge > Ade
    Ramsey > O'Hara

    Would give me:

    Vorm (Begovic)
    Gabbidon JE Simpson (Naylor Brown)
    VDV Silva O'Hara Walters
    RVP Rooney Adebayor

    Hey guys

    Current team:

    Vorm (Krul)
    Kompany/Enrique/Jones (Woodgate/Simpson)
    Silva/Nani/VDV/Larsson/Allen
    Adebayor/RVP (Graham)

    0.9 in bank

    Is it worth an 8 ponit hit?:

    Graham -> Ba
    Nani -> Rodwell
    Woodgate -> Baines?

    Or too crazy??

    Cheers!

      OBE, that would mean a hell of a lot invested in the back line. And I'm not at all convinced by Rodwell's FPL potential.

      You should rethink, especially over a 4pt hit.

    My crazy VDV backup plan which I’m almost certainly not going to do:

    - Can’t afford Ade without really downgrading Rooney
    - However, if I switch Rooney to Chicha I have enough money for…

    Jermaine Defoe.
    Which would cover the Spurs base entirely as when VDV isn’t playing, he is. They could even both start with Lennon on the bench. And I’d still have United covered.
