It’s the news we’ve been waiting for. Reports have come through that indicate Rafael Van der Vaart is available for Spurs’ home clash with Bolton tomorrow.

While we still await official confirmation from the club, BBC reporter Mike Sewell broke the news on his twitter stream in the last few minutes, to the delight of Fantasy managers. Sewell, at Harry Redknapp’s press conference this morning, has confirmed the Dutchman has overcome his ongoing hamstring trouble and comes into the squad for the Trotters game.

The doubts surrounding Van der Vaart’s hamstring have already seen him transferred out of nearly 56,000 teams this gameweek, easily the most of any player. Those who decided to “get rid” will be hoping he has an off-day at the Lane, while those who have patiently held will be savouring the thought of the Dutchman tormenting an off-form Bolton team as Spurs go for their tenth win in eleven.

With Jermain Defoe having played from the start in Wednesday’s Europa League clash with PAOK, the odds are on Van der Vaart making the first XI tomorrow- he may well get his obligatory 60+ minutes but time and again this season, he’s shown he is more than capable of producing the points with relatively limited game time and will be another strong option for the armband ahead of tomorrow’s game at the Lane.

We’ll bring you more on this as we get it.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Alright lads, pleasing news on the VDV front, team for the weekend.
    Vorm
    Baines Santos Kompany
    Silva VDV Rambo Drenthe
    RVP Ade Sturridge
    (Kenny, Dyer, Brown, Simpson)
    .2 in the bank, 1FT.
    Should I:
    A) Kenny > Cerny (bank the cash + play Cerny this week)
    B) Kenny > Robinson (covers Vorms away fixtures nicely and the defence is back)
    C) Drenthe > O'Hara
    D) Drenthe > Barfa
    E) Bank it and sort something else out the week after

Because we don't know if he's actually injured or if there's been something more sinister with the manager.

I can't imagine a niggle would keep him out for 2 games, so if he's missing this one, I'm doubting it to be an injury.

Option A for me Mac. You've few pressing matters to attend to this GW, so use the FT to make the GK move you need to. Although I'd go Krul over Cerny, play Vorm this GW, but it sets you up nicely for the long haul.

Drop Walters, for me Will. Stole away form isn't great and I'd rather play a dead ball specialist (Larsson) away over a poss pens man (Walters). But it's a close call though. Would definitely not drop Studge, but I'm a big fan of the little man.

Listening to last night's podcast (welcome back Granville btw) has convinced me more than ever that Baines is part of my Christmas and new year plans. Not this week, not next, but gwk 16 through to the cold weeks of January he will be mine.

Only question - which of my heavyish hitters in defence to dump

Kompany - tougher fixtures, but always potential of cs or goal
    Jones - could be rotated
BAE - double but getting rid of him means I could have VDV, BAle, ADe and Baines for the double in gwk 20.

tempting this week if not a hit....only problem is next week is arsenal and can't see him getting much from that. The superb run including the double starts gwk 16 really. Also Jones can easily and very likely get a clean sheet this week.

I keep going back and forth with Baines or Vidic (or even Evra as a cheaper option)

Im thinking getting Baines now and just keep him until January or im tempted by getting Vidic this week and it would be easy to switch to Baines for GW20.

Ideally id get Baines this week, swap to Vidic and then back an forth depending on fixtures but that depends on no other transfer which isnt gonna happen.

Hey guys, Ive got Adebayor, RVP and Rooney as my forward three.. and all 3 look really strong fixture wise going into the next few gameweeks. But the likes of Ba are tempting me too, and as I dont wanna get rid of any of my three strikers, my question:

Who would you pick for NEW midfield coverage for the GW15 onwards..?

or should I do Rooney > Ba and B.Johnson > Nani (These transfers for next week)

    Cheers guys 🙂

Ben Arfa is playing up front for the moment but Cabaye will tend to play more minutes ... Probably Ben Arfa with him being cheaper.

I've had a look at Timmy Cahills ICT stats...interesting he produced his best Influence and Creativity numbers for the season so far last week.

Could dump Drenthe for Cahill for a FT and it would remove my worries about Drenthe injury and/or falling out with Moyes.

Timmy more or less playing up front with great fixtures (but hasn't scored in a year)

    Good or bad idea??

Reports say that he´s been playing through injury... so I would say it´s a bit risky atm, maybe wait a little more but put him on the watchlist for sure.

I've only seen those Drenthe falling-out rumours on here - seen absolutely nothing to back them up anywhere else, so I wouldn't worry about that too much.

He is my pick for a watchlist/talent article soon. I pre-empted OHara and Heernandez, probably with blind luck though.

I do want him, but might be worth waiting a week see if he gets a good 90mins under his belt.

I'd go with Krul. We don't tend to have that many shots on target and opposition keepers don't get many save points against us.... although we usually do score

    Hi all

After a dismal start I've been clawing my way up the league and think I have a reasonable team:

    Vorm (Al Habsi)

Enrique Richards N Taylor (Simpson) Shawx)

    Mata Silva Bale Walters (Ramsey)

    VP (c) Ade (vc) Bendtner

Bendtner and Ramsey have done nothing for weeks tho Ramsey has been bit unlucky. Was thinking of:

    Bendtner----Ba
    Ramsey--- Fellaini (or eagles)

I have to make 2 changes as I can't afford Ba.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You've correctly identified the weaknesses in your team, imo. The rest of your team is rather solid. Personally I think you are better off playing either Ramsey or Bendtner this week rather than taking a four point hit (I assume 4 point hit, but correct if wrong). Bendy will be wanting to impress the new manager, and Ramsey is away to wigan. Ba could be objective for a week or two down the line, but I don't think he's going to do more than perhaps get one goal against Chelsea.

You might as well keep Ramsey if Fellaini is your transfers option.

I'd say Go O'Hara or Ben Arfa.

good points. In theory I don't have to make any changes. I got tired of Sturridge and brought in Bendtner and look what happened- Sturridge has scored for the past 2 weeks!
