Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Javier Hernandez is expected to be sidelined for the next four weeks with an ankle injury.

The Mexican was subbed off early in the 1-0 win over Aston Villa this evening and was stretchered from the proceedings after a lengthy delay. His goals have been crucial to the champions of late, with Hernandez scoring 3 of United’s 4 goals prior to the Villa match.

Post-match, the United boss rued the loss of his in-form striker and mulled over options for what will be a busy Christmas period:

I think it is torn ligaments in the ankle and he’ll be out for four weeks. We are having a bad time with injuries at the moment but that is why we have a strong squad. Danny Welbeck is fit again and fortunately he got 15 minutes tonight which is good. He has not had a lot of football recently which is something I have to consider. But Nani did alright through the middle and Valencia did very well for us when he came on, he was excellent. So I have some options up front. We may have Berbatov fit for Wednesday also, but we are getting our fair share of injuries at the moment.

The mention of Nani as a possibility in the central role is particularly intriguing. With Wayne Rooney’s run of goalless games now stretching to eight league fixtures on the back of tonight’s game, United are relying on their defence to ensure victories right now.

They have now ground out four 1-0 wins in the last five games since the return of Nemanja Vidic and have scored more than one goal just once in their last nine games but with a run of fixtures that includes (WOL, qpr, ful, WIG, BLA) look ripe for investment.

Welbeck, at 6.6, would be the most obvious bargain but with Fergie urging caution over his game time, the Fantasy options are low on the ground right now up front, with defence perhaps looking the most viable source of points.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Drenthe is "definitely" out. From 0.51, very reliable source.

Looks like Wilkinson will be coming off the bench for me.

I would have shipped him out then.
Think Drenthe is the new Boselli/Kolorov failed bandwagon.

Got Bendtner to come off the bench, should be fun...

Should I now get rid, I will 100% bench him at Arsenal but play him home to Norwich, hmmm.
      Probably keep.

I already shipped my problem players out Drenthe, Warnock, and VDV.
I got in Vidic, Bale and eh Moses...
2 free transfers 4 point hit during the Villa United match.Decided to double up on man united defenders. This probably means they will concede against wolves 🙂
I am afraid to start Moses in case in might score more then 2 and I would have to keep him in the team 🙂

Yes patience is dwindling but I can't see any good replacements, certainly nobody I'd take a hit to get in so ATM I'm content with 2/3 points a week as there always seems to be someone injured etc that's more important to replace. Trouble is I think at this rate he could be in my team till January wc

A Looks OK. But I am Not sure on Vermaelen yet cos Arsenal play Man city GW 16. So I went for Vidic instead, who can easily be switched to Baines or downgraded to Vermaelen/Evra. I think Vidic gives more future options and security if you can get him.

    Repost from last page

    Current team is:
    Krul, Vorm
    Jones, Enrique, Walker, Saylor, Naylor
    Silva, VDV, Mata, Ramsey, Dyer
    RVP, Ade, Ba
I was going to use my 2 frees to get Rooney and Ben Arfa in for Mata and Ba but I now need to get rid of Saylor and Ramsey’s time is up. I’m thinking Saylor to Verm and Ramsey to Ben Arfa or someone else up to 5.8 and switching between 3-4-3 and 4-3-3 depending on fixtures. No need to do the transfers for a few days but hoping to get some opinions.

As the good Demi posted above, Drenthe looks definitely out for tomoro....I don't have a link but the Everton forums seem to trust a guy called "the Fox" who apparantley is mates with the Everton fitness coach who has also confirmed Royston is out.

    Timmy Cahill FTW !!!

Yep, great source for future weeks. these everton itk's . If only the game was on a Saturday, we'd have got the news before the deadline and i in all probability would've brought in Bale for him

Don't regret holding on to Rafa or getting Ade in, but damnit, why did I play Vorm over Krul.

You cant legislate for a penalty save. With Sturridge v Raylor, Newcastle, in theory, were odds on too concede more than Swansea

    Pondering the following:

    Kompany > Jones (this week)
Bendy > Ba or Sturridge (next week)

Also not sure about what to do with the likes of Ramsey and VDV

    Thoughts, gents?

Why jump ship on Bendy when O'Neil will inspire him and hes got Blackburn next week!
Come on think about it man.

If you think Yakubu is going to score more goals than him every week, then yes.

No, sturridge has shown consistent form whilst yakubu has so far only pulled a one off. Factor in sturridges price considering the team be plays for and that yak plays for Blackburn. Knee-jerk imo

Not in the long run but maybe over the next few games.Let's not forget Blackburn were playing a Swansea team with a pretty poor away record so far this season

Already have Ba and am thinking Drenthe (who hasn't played since i brought him in) to Ben Afra for the next few good Newcastle fixtures... then re-evaluate Everton midfielders as DGW gets closer?

To be? Or not to be?

    Thinking:

    Dzeko > Yakubu
    Kompany > Jones
    Gabbidon > Vermaelen

    Make sense, or madness?

So as i basked in the glory of my 73 points thus far, i look to my mini-league with the hope i'd leap up a few places and catch the leader....
That i did, leap up a few places.
Until i got to the leader and he had 83 points and is still 170 points ahead of me and 163rd overall in the world!
    What can i do lol?!
He's had a perfect season, every week he's had the right captain, Rooney, Aguero, Van Persie form games etc.....!

Eh? Its only a third of the way through the season! Man up and manage your boys til the bitter end

Got to take the rough with the smooth in Fantasy. And that goes for each season and for the long term. You're bound to have a tough season now and again!

Well I am good at this game. I took a -4 for Rooney + Sturridge---->Ade + Hernandez. And now I am in the shitter. Also got a 10M victor moses and a 6M defender who has kept one CS in 7. It is only Kompany's shoulder keeping him in my team now. Team linked what on earth should I do?
