Craven Cottage is the venue, as Fulham versus Liverpool wraps up Gameweek 14 on a bitterly cold Monday night. Braving the unpleasant conditions outside, the Dugout Discussion is open once more. Martin Jol and Kenny Dalglish have handed their team sheets in, and this is how the sides line-up tonight…

Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Kelly, Senderos, Hangeland, JA Riise, Murphy, Etuhu, Dempsey, Ruiz, Zamora, Dembele.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Agger, Henderson, Adam, Spearing, Bellamy, Carroll, Suarez.

The hosts make one change to the side that drew at the Emirates, as Steven Kelly comes in for Chris Baird at right-back.

As for the visitors, the devastating injury to their star defensive-midfielder Lucas, means that Jay Spearing comes in as his replacement. Elsewhere, Andy Carroll partners Luis Suarez up-front, and surprisingly there’s no reward in the form of a starting berth for Maxi Rodriguez, who’s enjoying somewhat of a purple patch at the moment.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom can be found by clicking here, so come in and follow all the action as it unfolds.

    vDV > Nani

Would give me my only Man Utd cover leaving me only Adebayor as Spurs cover.

Also considering Kompany > Man Utd defender for a 4 point hit.

I would just leave it at Nani, you can't have it all. I'd take Nani over an on the mend VDV against Stoke. Yet Bale owners should probably be the one's fearful.

    Chris Smalling, talk to me.

The games he's missed, he was injured for, right? Did he go off injured in the Chelsea game? I can't remember, was too busy fuming about offside decisions.

Clichy, Smalling? Sort your life out and find a way to get Big Micah Richards in! 6 assists in 12 starts, he's basically playing as a right winger.

Smalling? I think you are going in the right direction if Fergie persists with Jones in his defensive midfield role. I'm tempted...

He scored and got injured in that Chelsea match..remember? Valencia slotted in at right-back for him.

Flair pick. He'll surely play next match with Spearing suspended. QPR at home, decent fixture. Nobody else is jumping out at me. If he fails, i'll find away to get Ramires in for him for the Wigan game.

Bit of a gamble but i fancy him to get something against QPR. The other option is to get Nani and Ramires/Larrson for Lamps and Ben Arfa. It means no Rodwell though.

But do you want to torture yourself watching him tip-toe around Stoke, where they suck Spurs into loose possession? And Bale, I'll bet he attracts no less than 6+ tackles...one good one is all they ever need.

          Food for thought.

Baines' fixtures are pretty good too, compared to Vidic and there is more chance of assists, and goals as he's on pens and free kicks. Less chance of clean sheets though.

Not for me. I think the difference between Verm and Clichy is bigger than the difference between Vidic and Evra. Evra is actually a really solid pick imo at 7m

I think it all depends on when you got silva in. If you wouldn't lose much value on him then it would not be a problem to get rid of him for a while and then back in on the WC. If you've had him from the start, then you would be stupid to let go. Personally, I played my WC in GW12 chose and Verm and Bale instead of Silva and 4m defender and haven't looked back! That decision was helped by the fact that "my wife's team" has had silva since the start, and we don't like to double up!

I got Verm in for a WC punt in GW12. Never really seen him play before. Since then i've kept more of on eye on him, and it is incredible how attacking he is. He bombs into the box regularly, from open play! If Wenger gives him a license to do that, he is a bit of a no brainer for me. Especially with their fixtures.

My two heavyweight defenders are looking to be perhaps Verm and Evra with our trusty Brown, Naylor, Simpson combo alongside.

However, whilst Smalling is a big rotation threat, I get the feeling Evra is not worth 2m extra, but does provide peace of mind. Thoughts?

Smalling won't play every game unless there is another injury. But then again for his price perhaps you won't mind if he sits out the occasional game. Depends how much confidence you have in the rest of your defense
