We were struggling this week. Crippled by a cold that was verging on deadly man-flu, I made a miracle recovery without the aid of placenta treatment to struggle into the studio to infect/accompany Mark on another podcast.

My ailments were not my only curse; only last weekend my extraordinary run of missing out on penalty saves continued when Tim Krul (no pun intended, but I’ll take it), palmed away Lampard’s effort. Inevitably, I’d left the Dutchman on my bench.

Mark refuses to buy the fact I’ve missed out on a penalty save for five years, diverting the discussion towards the mini-league gap, chatter on Van der Vaart and debate over United’s plight at both ends of the field.

The usual smattering of regulars are all present and semi-correct – if you can understand a word I’m saying, you might just enjoy it all.

        hmmm im not sure. got exactly the same problem myself but i really cant see sunderland keeping a cleanie. iv benched brown and fielded kompany. also in my work score predictor iv gone for 3-2 sunderland :s fingers crossed

          Yep, it sounds sensible to play Brown. But I bench him as Blackburn scored in all their away games and Yak is so in form. Anyway, first game under MON might give a good feeling to play Brown too.

    ah missed the price rise on PJones again. should i still do Kompany to Jones for a 4 points hit? i know never wise to take point hit for a defender but this is for long term. the rest of the team as below

              You are obviously a good FPL manager. Using the odds like this can work but there will be weeks where the odds mean nothing when you look at the quality of the player.

      Whoa solid team. I'd play Baines over Raylor, both are attacking leftbacks & both will concede goals. Go with the one on penos.

              Good analysis. But I doubt Raylor will go forward too much considering how he was gang-raped by Chelsea in the last game.

              Upto you though....I fancy Everton to be somewhat solid at the back & Arsenal's tired/injury-struck defence can always leak goals/Pens.

        Partly. Easy fixtures should result in a CS now and then. THey havent been letting in big in a while either.

        Reason to get him in was the goals, assists and cs. In that order.

                I reckon United will score a couple despite their form. Id like to have at least one of their players for the next several weeks, its just too good to ignore imo.

                I really dont wanna say anything about doing VDV to Nani cause its a big call and they both can rip it up or flop either way.

                But this week I took a 4 point hit to bring Nani for Ramsey and I have Jones as well.

                  Good move that. I've never liked Ramsey fantasywize. Rvp is the only way to go.

                  Last week i did not follow my gut and it cost me 12pts(net). This week my gut says Dvd-->Nani for a 4pt hit.

    What do people think about Mikel Arteta in fantasy terms? Good replacement for Ramsey?

    Silva - Bale - Larsson - Ramsey - Drenthe - is rest of midfield.

          Drogba/Kalou/Toure brothers/Gervinho/Taraabt are effected....not sure about Cameroon(BAE/Song)....as far as I know Nigeria(Yak) did not make it.

      Not really a fan of either to be honest. It is a bad time to get Mata as they have City so I would wait a week before getting him. I wouldn't take a hit if I was you. Perhaps just get rid of Richards and thats it. I would keep Pilkington for now as well. 2FT next week
