β†’ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

All of last season, between two clubs, two divisions and a respectable 2300 minutes of football, Yakubu managed to net only 12 times. This term, before we’ve even reached the half-way stage, β€œthe Yak” has delivered 9 in the league, one in the cup and sits above the likes of Wayne Rooney, Emmanuel Adebayor and Mario Balotelli in the chase for the Golden Boot.

Blackburn may not have taken advantage of his resurgence in form, in terms of their league position, but we sure did, courtesy of a return on “a goal and Blackburn to win” at 5/2 in last week’s β€œFlutter”.

Winnings in hand, we stride through Paddy Power’s doors once again to see what prices they have to offer for another gameweek…

First up, we’re sniffing around Liverpool’s Jose Enrique at home to Queens Park Rangers. Although he’s had a three match lull in terms of Fantasy points, the Spaniard is up against a side that has been slowly drifting toward mediocrity after an explosive start to the season. Enrique to assist and score is up for grabs, but with a cleanie very much on the cards, we’ll take that and no booking at 11/10 for Β£5 of our stake this week.

Next up is Chris Eagles. For a bargain midfielder, he’s accrued a respectable 59 Fantasy Premier League points this campaign so far, featuring heavily in Bolton’s flip-flop form. Paddy favour Villa, even as the visitors here, offering some longer prices with a goal and assist at 14/1. We’ve seen Eagles deliver this twice before this season, so this is a worthy punt for a Β£1.

Nani has drifted out of many Fantasy line-ups in recent weeks, echoing United’s recent lull in attacking terms. However, the winger has still managed to impress whilst his team-mates struggle to find a goalscoring rhythm – particularly in the midweek Champions League defeat, where Nani looked a major threat. Paddy have Nani to score and perform a back-flip at 9/2 to take our quid this week; they’ve also priced up a less acrobatic goal and assist at 5/1.

Having displayed potent goalscoring potential at West Ham, Demba Ba has really come alive this year in the wake of Newcastle’s summer sales. Calm in front of goal, he nets with his head, left and right boot, and from the penalty spot, with confidence. A one pound stake at 12/1 on Ba to score twice or more against an obliging Norwich defence is well justified, given that he’s already bagged two hat-tricks this season.

Our final market of the week is β€œWho will score the most goals”, featuring Wayne Rooney at 10/11, Robin van Persie at 13/8 and West Brom’s Shane Long at 3/1. Most weeks we’d look to the Flying Dutchman for goals, but with Rooney’s World Cup ban lightened to lift his spirits, we’ll go with Granville’s ScoutCast heavy-hitter for the last Β£1 left of our tenner; more for bragging rights rather than hard cash.

Just a reminder, if you missed Thursday’s “Paddy Says”, detailing the bookies view on clean sheets, goals and anytime scorers, you can soak it up right here.

Paddy’s Money Back Specials

Paddy have a host of refund offers on show for the weekend. They start at the Stadium of Light for Martin O’Neill’s first match in charge. If O’Neill witnesses four or more goals in the match, Paddy will refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles. Paddy are also paying back all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the Stoke vs Totttenham clash, if Peter Crouch nets against his old club.

Down at Stamford Bridge, Paddy are risking refunds if there’s a last gasp goal. If a goal is scored in the last five minutes of the Chelsea vs City clash they will again refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Register and Bet Β£10 And Get Β£20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free Β£20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

He doesn't seem the most motivated striker in the league, bit like Viduka, trying to impress for a new or bettter contract.

Never trust a Portuguese man making sleepy sex eyes. You wake up with a port hangover and a bruised sense of self worth.

I *think* I'm going with Rooney, BUT I keep reading on here about everyones feeling that RVP wont score much, and if my experience on this site tells me anything, its that when everyone decides they have a feeling about something normally the opposite happens. Cue RVP 50 points.

I don't have a feeling RVP won't score much, more that it will be a very tough match for Arsenal. I've gone for 1-1. RVP will probably score/assist and pick up BPs as per usual.

Considering Nani or a left field punt on Glen Johnson myself

Glen Johnson eh? Vermaelen crossed my mind, but everytime I (c) a defender it ends in tears and recriminations.

Especially as Man U and Arsenal have pretty straight forward games, there are better options. I do love a good gamble though.

I know my last point is made daft by me mentioning Vermaelen, but I'm tired and I meant straight forward in the sense of I expect Man Utd and Arsenal to score goals, so an attacking player is a better option.
I'm not sure if I have the capacity for logical thought any more, so I'm off to bed.

Hoo-ha, LARKYTOWN. I see your reach around, and I add it to THE BUM's point of view...Leaving me with a whole lot of RvP in my hands, and a little (c) on his giant man chicken.

Start McAuley (WIG) or B.Johnson (NEW)? I know it's not the most glamorous choice...

Tough one SD...you're on WC right?
I would slightly favour McAuley but only cos I have him and I think Woy will do good things there.
If it means playing 4 at the back I'm not so sure.
Good kuck with the WC...stressfull time but the team you posted earlier is brilliant!

yep 3000 something at the moment. 4 red arrows on the trot though since brief stint in the top 1000 πŸ™

You think there is a chance Jones may not start tomorrow? I notice the skysports team doesn't have him. As i am on a WC what you think about going with Ferdinand instead? Same price and surely 100% guaranteed now Vidic is out? Can his body take it though?!

Good line up! Personally wouldn't have a 6 mill defender in my team if he was going to be benched. I'd downgrade Bad K on the way to improving Drenthe/Brunt for Bale.

follow-up to an earlier post-- my team:

    Vorm
    Vermaelen – P. Jones– BAE
    Bale – Silva – Walters – Sinclair
    Van Persie (c) – Adebayor – Morison

Bench: Westwood, Wes Brown, M. Richards, Pilkington

Key decisions were-- start BAE, Walters, Sinclair, Morison; bench Brown, Pilkington. Any conflicting opinions? thanks

Good morning Dead Zoners, L5ers, late Greeks and early Etruscans

I was away last weekend and busy all week so I've just got round to watching MOTD now.

What about that Yakubu, eh! Big-boned and pushing 40, but what a tremendous strikers performance. I'm sure a few eagle-eyed managers bought him in and reaped the rewards. Well done to them. Bet he's a bit of a bandwagon now.

Poor old Newcastle! Luiz should have walked, unlucky to lose 3-0 and terrible injuries in defence.

And Man Utd! Another grindy 1-0, Hernandez out and nothing much from Rooney, Nani et al. At least they've got Vidic there to manage the defence or they'd be in trouble.

Right, I'm going to watch the Champion's League highlights now. Is it worth bothering with though? I mean, most of the groups have been decided and the last games are just formalities, right?
