With no televised (English) top-flight game yesterday, Sunday’s double-header has us eagerly anticipating some live Premier League action. The Dugout Discussion opens for the second day of Gameweek 15, with a relegation scrap and a game between two sides aiming for Europe.

We start at the Stadium of Light as Martin O’Neill takes over the reigns as Sunderland manager. His first assignment is against a Blackburn side whose manager, in total contrast, is hanging onto his job for dear life. Having said that, Steve Kean has a win against Swansea last week to build on. Here are the all-important team sheets…

Sunderland XI: Westwood, O’Shea, Bardsley, Brown, Bramble, Richardson, Larsson, Colback, Vaughan, Sessegnon, Wickham.

Blackburn XI: Robinson, Salgado, Samba, Dann, Givet, Formica, Dunn, Lowe, Pederson, Vuckevic, Yakubu.

Sunderland striker Niklas Bendtner is kept out with a groin injury, and in his place Connor Wickham gets his first league start since October. The visitors are also without a key striker, as Junior Hoilett picked up a training ground hamstring injury that sees him miss out.

Following that it’s over to the Britannia Stadium where Stoke City host Tottenham Hotspur. Stoke’s ambition this season will be to match last season’s success of reaching the Europa League, whereas the visitor’s will have their sights set on returning to Europe’s premier competition after a year out. That’ll then just leave Monday night’s grand finale at Stamford Bridge to bring the gameweek to a close.

    I stuck with VDV the week he got injured before the Villa game. Regret not taking him out for Bale then. Instead I used my FT that week to do Sturridge to Bendy (massive fail). Have lost some of the value gained on VDV and loads of points, not to mention Bale's value gain.

    VDV looked poor today and I can't see him starting every game over Xmas. He's my second favourite fantasy player but I think it's time for him to go, at least until GW20. I'm thinking Nani, rather than Bale is the best option for me to bring in? Have Silva and Mata but don't have Rooney.

    Has anyone looked at the bonus points predictions on totalfpl? Nothing for RVP or Vorm seems a bit odd to me...

      Saw that, I am pretty sure RVP will get something being the only goalscorer in the game.

        Not sure if Vorm will get anything for a penalty save in a game that finished 2-0. He saved one in GW2 and didn't get anything. Mind you, he did have 6 saves this week.

        Can't imagine RVP won't get the BAPs.

    Oh this game is really making my head spin......friday I was tinkering for big defenders jones and vermalen, now two days later, I'm already downgrading jones to get nani in - what will I think tomorrow?

    Can we be pretty sure that drenthe is deadweight now, no way he'll be starting next weekend and then next game 4 days after...so taking him out for four pointer isn't that bad idea? 🙂

      Downgrade Vermaelen before Jones. Vermaelen moving out to left back will most likely limit attacking returns.

            I think there will be a still be a lot of FPL teams having Man City and Chelsea players still to play.
            So I'm not bothering to look at the rankings right now.
            I've had a good week, Nani (C) + Moses.
            But a Silva or Aguero or Mata masterclass tomorrow could pull me back down.

        Im not soo sure he is on pens. VDV started by taking corners but wasn't after, might be that he felt his hamstring. I have Adebayor and i hope he isn't on pens, if the keeper guesses the right way, he will save the pen, awful penalty taker!

      It's because he has penalties in his locker that makes him an FF threat.

      Harry seems to like Ade-Defoe too and Spurs were better in the second half.

      I am a huge advocate of VdV but I'm thinking of ditching him before Sunderland. Wll he even start that game? So many question marks for one player.

      The time to get rid was 2-3 weeks ago, imo. The hamstring and Bale's new found form were big factors.
      Playing against SUN next so there is little point in moving him out now.

      Baines to Vermaelen would get you closer if you are so inclined. City have some good fixtures after the arsenal game so if Rooney misfires next week, you might consider Roo to Aguero.

    only 1 transfer and 3.5m in bank now i'm looking to get nani in and drenthe is on route out,

    but drenthe > nani i'm short by 0.4m

    any suggestions, i know the simple thing would be to get rid of vdv but not to keen on that, he should of had an assist today with adebayors goal but it was incorrectly ruled out offside
