The impossible has happened. After five long years, Michel Vorm delivered my first penalty save of my Fantasy Football management career. There could be no question – this latest episode had to be dedicated to Swansea’s Dutch stopper.

Ironically, it follows last week’s outing that found me lamenting my cursed luck. Vorm answered my prayer (or moans – Mark) – the monkey is finally off my back, and I can hardly contain my joy during this week’s session.

Elsewhere, the regulars are scattered around discussing the dubious merits of Jonny Evans, talk a hamstrung Van der Vaart, the shifting goalposts of the Fantasy Island Risk and Mark’s quest to win his own Cup competition. The selfish bugger.

    when do the points get taken off for doing extra transfers. last week my mate got 55 points (i counted each player and yes 55 is correct), however he did 3 transfers and its seems that the points have not been deducted...very annoying :-/

      they get deducted from the overall score, not the weekly score.

        I thought they were deducted from the previous week's score, the transfers having taken place before the next week's deadline.

          No cos when you take a hit and have H2H it is deducted for the gw you are playing.

        Its this.

        For example I've taken a 4 point hit, I'm currently on 880.

        As soon as the deadline is up it'll update and change to 876. Then my weekly score goes on top of that. So come Monday I'll be on 976.

            Yeah because normally when I don't watch games I get points. I'll be watching United on sunday and normally when I watch it in Nottingham we don't play that well, so bad luck to Nani owners I'm afraid!

          It updates whenever games are on.
          So if you have 3 players playing on Saturday for a total of 3 points and have taken a 4 point hit, your overall score on Sunday morning will be whatever it was before that week -1

      The points get deducted but don't show anywhere..
      Once the game updates after day of games, the weekly score will show the points scored, but the overall score will add the points and subtract the hit.
      E.g
      If I am on 800 points, and that I get 50 for that gameweek but took a 4 point hit it will show;
      Weekly score - 50
      Overall score - 846

        the points are "shown" on the My Team screen next to transfers: Transfers 3 (-8pts)

        but, true, they don't show any calculations anywhere.

        I like Adebayor as captain this week. Leighton though, it could be genius....imagine it came off? Although Norwich score every game nowadays....but Everton did well to only concede to a wondergoal last week so maybe they can gas the canaries....

          Gervinho, Ramsey and Walcott had brilliant chances in the first half.

            Probably because they all can't finish to save their lives. I like Gervinho, I hope he gets his shooting together because he could be great for you! Walcott is a much improved player these past 5 games which has provided a couple more assists.

            Ramsey though....meh. 🙂

        Thank You Fratboy, very good of you, In my defence I've never felt the inclination to post up a team before. No I have not made a transfer this week yet, struggling to come up with one that I feel we'll improve my squad.

        I see Ward as my weakest link and N.Taylor when Swansea play away from home. But I usually rotate him with R.Taylor.

        My midfield is pretty much the same I usually rotate Sinclair and Arteta depending on the fixtures.
        I had an horrendous first six weeks or so, had to slowly put this squad together.This is the first week that I've really not had any clear transfer strategy.

        The team you chose is pretty much the same as what was in my thoughts except I had Ba as C and RVP as VC.

        Thanks for your thoughts appreciated. : )

        Maybe I'll just stick for a change and save my transfer.

    Two freebies, with 1.6 (I think) in bank, any recommendations? Vdv I got in as he began to slide so I would like to hang on really to feel justified. But no manu coverage, which could be mad, let me know what you think, ta lads

      Sinclair has a tough run, and given that you'll need to bench one of the front 8 each work it'll probably be him for the next two GWs. Perhaps Sinclair to a cheapie and up Walcott to Nani. Defence might need a bit of a spring clean too at some point.

          I'm not really unfamiliar with the site as such, I have been using it since it begun! Just rarely use the comment system. As I find it a little overly aggressive, perhaps aggressive is the wrong word may sarcastic or mildly irritating lol. I always reply to any response on any post I add.
