With some favourable fixtures on the horizon, Mick McCarthy will be in confident mood this festive season thanks to the form of Steven Fletcher. The Scotsman has been hampered with calf and groin injuries this season but a haul of 3 goals in his last two games is indicative of his importance to the Wolves cause.

Fletcher has only started eight games for the Molineux outfit this term but has found the net 6 times, including a consolation in last weekend’s 4-1 defeat at Old Trafford. Big Mick admits Fletcher was subbed off as a precautionary measure at Man United, with home clashes against Stoke and Norwich up next:

We need Fletcher fit and we weren’t going to get four goals to win the game so I thought it was wise to take him off. Fletcher’s been terrific – and prolific – when he’s been fit. That’s why I took him off because I need him to be prolific in the next two games as well.

Though a trip to Arsenal will be anything but straightforward, a visit to Bolton will hold no fear, with the Wolves boss looking at three of those four matches as definitely winnable. Certainly, the home fixtures will have been earmarked as crucial and given Wolves’ recent record of 7 points from a possible 9 in their previous three Molineux matches, there’s reason for optimism.

A recent move back to 4-4-2 may have Jamie O’Hara’s owners on edge but Fletcher’s suitors will look upon the fixtures favourably, regardless of formation- he’s also scored against Liverpool and Newcastle, two of the tightest back-lines in the Premier League thus far.

Priced at 5.9 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) and owned by just 1.4%, he could prove a handy differential over the next few gameweeks and a viable alternative to the likes of Yakubu, Daniel Sturridge or Demba Ba in the low to mid-price range. If Wolves are to steer clear of the relegation zone, his contribution will be key over the Christmas period.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

This might be a dumb question, but here goes anyway:

If you are on a wildcard and you transfer one player for another, is there anyway to "cancel" that transfer, rather than just making the reverse transfer again? The reason I ask is because of price rises/falls.

i.e. if you bought Silva at 9.5 and now on your wildcard you sell him for Mata you will only get 10mil, but then if you decide by the end of the week that you actually want him back you will have to fork out 10.5mil. But as you are on a wildcard, I thought the point was you could make as many changes in and out as you want without any effect from prices (it seems that people on wildcards are constantly toying back and forth with players, but this doesnt seem possible for players that have risen since you originally brought them).

So basically just wondering if the exact same transfer rules apply on a wildcard, and there is no way at any point to simply "reset" your team back to what it was at the start of the week (when you originally pulled it)?

Cheers for the help from a fanto newbie!

No.. once you press that confirm button you dont that player back for his earlier price..

You'll have to pau the full 10.5 to get silva once you confirm the transfer,,

I'm pretty sure if you've already made the transaction it's too late. If you want to put him back in he'll cost you the full price. Nasty lesson learned.

The money is lost once you do the transfer. If you bought Silva at 9.5 and sold him for 10 there is no way to get him back without paying 10.5.

i beleive Alcaraz is injured but i am torn between Mata and Ba. Wigan are pretty rubbish and could be torn apart by chelski. AVB confirmed that Mata was meant to take the penalty. If Lamps is 1 yellow away from suspension maybe he is not risked.

Good risk. The only problem is that the xmas period is flooded with games therefore rotation risk - and if you have a player not play, you will have a common 2 points coming on. But I think everyone has a weak bench so it doesn't matter too much.

I'd wait on the Nani transfer til GW18, especially as you would lose Silva. 2 Swansea midfielders is too many, no opportunity of rotation.

Anyone help with this team ive not had a lot of time to look into it yet and just lookin for a few opinions, only got one free transfer but a hit could be needed

    Vorm
    Enrique Jones Caulker
    Ramsey Moses Silva VDV
    Yak RVP Ade

    Given Brown Lescott Sinclair

I wouldn't double up on Swansea at Newcastle. Then again the options on your bench aren't great.

For me this is a team worth taking a few hits for.

Hows this look look for GW 16 chaps?

    Vorm

Simpson / Senderos / Jones (Kompany / En Rique)

    O'Hara / Silva / Nani / Larrson (Dyer)

    Ade / Ba (c) / RVP

Used my 2 frees. Not sure if I've got the defence right or not? Also considering captaining Ade instead of Ba. Thoughts appreciated!

Would play Enrique over Simpson I think. Otherwise it's fine, close call of captains between Ba/Ade.

bale/parker/ade/vdv rested means good chance of tott scoring vs sunderland..

Also tired defense will hopefully mean a goal for larsson too.. 😉

Only BAE has a chance of starting out of that lot.
Even then I think we may give 5-3-1-1 a go with Bale and Walker as wing backs.

Both short term & long term... Suspect its 1 by quite a margin?
