Bonanza! With three of our five suggested bets coming in last week, and a fourth on Nani just a back-flip away from paying out, the “Fantasy Flutter” struck gold. After weeks of hitting bets and covering our stake, finally we’re starting to see some real profit. With the £25 return tucked in our back pocket, and Paddy posting up more markets, we shall see if the streak continues or whether our luck is pinched out…

This week Paddy deliver odds on some Flutter regulars, covering all positions on the pitch. Up first is our set-piece-taking, wing-hugging Everton flyer, Leighton Baines. For one of the priciest defenders around, Baines has provided only two goals, one assist and two clean sheets this season, whilst not missing a single minute of pitch-time. His poor individual haul reflects Everton’s uninspiring season to this point, but when the Toffees win, Baines is always in the mix for returns. Weekend opponents Norwich have been bashed around when on the road, and we feel that Baines looks good for some profit in a game of goals at Goodison. We’ll open up our tenner, with £2 on Baines to score from a dead-ball at 11/2.

Swansea’s performance in last week’s clash with Fulham made for good reading for all those (probably a lot of you) that had Michel Vorm in goal. But the comfortable 2-0 result perhaps failed to tell the full story. Although Fulham conceded, Leroy Lita and company never looked truly threatening going forward. Even taking into account their recent injuries, Newcastle seem a good bet to hold firm against the Swans at St James’ this weekend. Paddy have Scout Pick Ryan Taylor to keep a cleanie and Newcastle to win at 21/10; we’ll take that for £3 of our stake.

The Yak is back, and lining up a very favourable fixture at home to the Baggies. Although he had a quieter week, facing off against Martin O’Neil’s Sunderland, Yakubu is still very much on our radar. On the bench as prime budget option in the Scout Picks, we’ll back the Yak to score and Blackburn to win at 3/1 for a quid of our money.

Chelsea’s “number Juan” playmaker (sorry) is away to Roberto Martinez’s struggling Wigan side in the late kick-off on Saturday. Chelsea will be riding a wave of confidence after defeating league leaders Man City at the Bridge on Monday; the Latics look to there for the taking. Juan Mata to assist, and low scoring Wigan to keep off the score sheet, is a massive 6/1. Our £3 stake doesn’t seem quite enough on this, with value written all over it, but we need to save a nugget for our final flutter.

Our regular “who will score the most” market features last week’s winner Wayne Rooney once again, this time at the better price of 13/8. But we’re not going to take that. We’re not even going to take the fair price of 7/4 on Daniel Sturridge on the aforementioned potential goalfest at Wigan. No, in-fact, we’ll be placing our final pound on Demba Ba at 15/8 to hopefully rifle a few past visiting Vorm. Swansea’s fans may have maintained their match-long chant of “Michel Vorm m’lord, Michel Vorm” last weekend, but Ba looks well placed to silence the traveling Swans faithful at St James’ Park.

Paddy’s Money Back Specials

We may have steered clear of the City vs Arsenal clash with the Scout Picks, but Paddy have faced the weekend’s big encounter head-on. They’re offering a money back special, refunding all first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast single bets on the match, if Mario Balotelli or Robin Van Persie scores the last goal.

Alright. So I need a two week punt, under 8.3 mid. I've narrowed it down to Dempsey, Vukcevic and Formica.

Both Fulham and Blackburn have two consecutive games coming although the former has Man Utd next. Thoughts?

Reasons I gave to someone else earlier who went for Eagles ... repost I guess.

Fulham played 3 days ago in Europa.
Fulham were knocked out by losing a 2-0 lead to some minnows with Hangeland, Hughes, Dembele, Zamora, Baird, Sa etc playing a full match.
Eagles has scored 9 (qpr 4-0), 13 (wig 3-1) and 15 (STO 5-0) before this season. Bolton have more points away than at home.
Eagles is Bolton’s highest scoring mid by a factor of around 2.
Bolton have scored 10 away goals in 7 games (7th in the PL).

Plus, subjectively, I watched Fulham get knocked out and not only did they defend badly, the players and manager looked destroyed at the end.

It's a cheap gamble isn't it, 5.5... plus, an absolute gigantic differential. Doesn't come off, almost no money wasted (cheapest playing mids at 4.4 lol) , comes off, blam, you could outscore Mata, Silva, even Nani this week at almost half price. I'm all in, ready for either outcome!

Ba seems the favorite (c) choice of this week. His form and fixture to play the 2nd worst away form in the league seem to well back-up this decision.. The bookies seem to believe the same as he's among the top 6 of players who most likely to score this week.

Anyway, ahead of him are Rooney, Sturridge, Defoe, Adebayor, and Drogba. I also have Ade and my armband is currently with him. Do you think if Ba is the better choice? Reason would be appreciate.

Look at the 6 gameweek shooting stats:

      Ade 31 shots/19 on target

      Ba 19/11 on target.

Ade's getting more chances and plays for arguebly the better team.

That shooting stats are amazing.. Jafa. 🙂

He, Ade on his average position, was not the most advanced in his team but he had/created so much chances to shoot. I have no doubt with him and his teammate to create chances.

        What's about their opponent?
        - Swansea .. worst on away but overall better than Sunderland in the form table.
        - Sunderland .. probably boosted up by the last minute winning and new manager.

Would that make you to re-consider Ba?

Spurs strength in midfield, playing at home in a game that's important for them to keep pace would push me to Ade I think. Takes more shots than Ba with a higher percentage on target. In Ba's favor is his form but that newcastle/swansea game could turn out to be a scrappy affair.

Interesting. Right now I have Sturridge as capt but still see that as a bit of a punt.

The more i think about it, the more I cant decide. Even RVP! Scored 3 vs Che. Unreal that RVP as captain could be a punt and differential this GW?? Totally confused.

In your opinion. Am i mad to start Moses over Sinclair do that i can play Simpson on D. (That way i do not have a Sinclair vs Simpson Matchup?)
Otherwise would have to start Wilko

The Swan will play Different CB in this game. It was Monk for Yakubu, but Caulker for Ba. It's right that no Rangel somehow impacted them too. But.. in that game, Yakubu had just 5 shots and 4 went in (1 is penalty). I still think he had so much luck on that day.

Is this looking like the right format for this week?

    Hennessey
    Jones, BAE, Richards
    Drenthe, Mata, Bale, Ramsey
    Sturridge, RVP (VC), Aguero (C)
    Bench: Vorm, Simpson, Moses, Gabbidon

I've been wondering about replacing Richards with Simpson but I'm worried about Richards and his possibility of an assist (or goal) vs the chances of a Simpson clean sheet. I've also wondered about playing Simpson over Ramsey as I can see another 2 from Ramsey. Finally, wondering if Simpson does stay on the bench whether or not I should move Moses ahead of Simpson if Drenthe doesn't play (on the off chance that he scores again).

    Thoughts?

I've had Ade since GW7 and he's been good. I just have bad memories of captaining him last year and him doing nothing. He'll get a lot of chances at The Land, but he misses a lot. I think he's a risk as captain.

true but i think swansea are no give away, and i can see sunderland giving a lot of chances away and penalty fouls, and ade is now the beast who steps up to take them instead of VDV.

i'm sticking with ade as captain, im surea lot more others are too. good risk or bad, im sticking. good luck lads, thanks for you replies also 🙂

I'm going against all reason and captaining Aguero (with RVP and Sturridge on my team). In your case I'd immediately drop Baines as a possibility and I still think that Sturridge or Aguero give you a better chance for multiple goals than VDV. Then again VDV should be on penalties...

Sinclair up against my GK Krul? Or 4 defenders, with Kompany taking Sinclair's place? Although I have RVP like most...

Also, I know there is a captain poll, but what are some of your opinions?

I'm torn between Rooney and Ba. I have it on Ba right now because Vorm isn't so great away from home and QPR could hold United.

    Thanks in advance

Funny....i was just thinking on Benching Sinclair for Moses. That way i can play Simpson instead of Wilko.

Remember the last time Vorm played a BIG striker!!! Yakubu netted 4.

Im thinking it has to be BA.

BTW....I have a sick feeling that Berbatov (now fit) will start instead of Rooney tomorrow. Slight chance Rooney gets rotated????
