Bonanza! With three of our five suggested bets coming in last week, and a fourth on Nani just a back-flip away from paying out, the “Fantasy Flutter” struck gold. After weeks of hitting bets and covering our stake, finally we’re starting to see some real profit. With the £25 return tucked in our back pocket, and Paddy posting up more markets, we shall see if the streak continues or whether our luck is pinched out…

This week Paddy deliver odds on some Flutter regulars, covering all positions on the pitch. Up first is our set-piece-taking, wing-hugging Everton flyer, Leighton Baines. For one of the priciest defenders around, Baines has provided only two goals, one assist and two clean sheets this season, whilst not missing a single minute of pitch-time. His poor individual haul reflects Everton’s uninspiring season to this point, but when the Toffees win, Baines is always in the mix for returns. Weekend opponents Norwich have been bashed around when on the road, and we feel that Baines looks good for some profit in a game of goals at Goodison. We’ll open up our tenner, with £2 on Baines to score from a dead-ball at 11/2.

Swansea’s performance in last week’s clash with Fulham made for good reading for all those (probably a lot of you) that had Michel Vorm in goal. But the comfortable 2-0 result perhaps failed to tell the full story. Although Fulham conceded, Leroy Lita and company never looked truly threatening going forward. Even taking into account their recent injuries, Newcastle seem a good bet to hold firm against the Swans at St James’ this weekend. Paddy have Scout Pick Ryan Taylor to keep a cleanie and Newcastle to win at 21/10; we’ll take that for £3 of our stake.

The Yak is back, and lining up a very favourable fixture at home to the Baggies. Although he had a quieter week, facing off against Martin O’Neil’s Sunderland, Yakubu is still very much on our radar. On the bench as prime budget option in the Scout Picks, we’ll back the Yak to score and Blackburn to win at 3/1 for a quid of our money.

Chelsea’s “number Juan” playmaker (sorry) is away to Roberto Martinez’s struggling Wigan side in the late kick-off on Saturday. Chelsea will be riding a wave of confidence after defeating league leaders Man City at the Bridge on Monday; the Latics look to there for the taking. Juan Mata to assist, and low scoring Wigan to keep off the score sheet, is a massive 6/1. Our £3 stake doesn’t seem quite enough on this, with value written all over it, but we need to save a nugget for our final flutter.

Our regular “who will score the most” market features last week’s winner Wayne Rooney once again, this time at the better price of 13/8. But we’re not going to take that. We’re not even going to take the fair price of 7/4 on Daniel Sturridge on the aforementioned potential goalfest at Wigan. No, in-fact, we’ll be placing our final pound on Demba Ba at 15/8 to hopefully rifle a few past visiting Vorm. Swansea’s fans may have maintained their match-long chant of “Michel Vorm m’lord, Michel Vorm” last weekend, but Ba looks well placed to silence the traveling Swans faithful at St James’ Park.

Paddy’s Money Back Specials

We may have steered clear of the City vs Arsenal clash with the Scout Picks, but Paddy have faced the weekend’s big encounter head-on. They’re offering a money back special, refunding all first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast single bets on the match, if Mario Balotelli or Robin Van Persie scores the last goal.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    Morning guys,

How does this look for the weekend? Have I got the right people on the bench?

    Vorm
    Enrique, BAE , Vermaelen Richards
    VDV (VC), Silva, Drenthe
    RVP, Sturridge, Adebayor (C)
    Subs: Ruddy, Walters, Sinclair, Brown

    Thanks!

Morning all. Might be a tough week this week, considering there aren't too many obvious captain choices like last week. I've got two free trades and .7 in the bank and I'm thinking along the lines of a VDV->Mata and Brunt->Sinclair trade. I've had enough with both of them, but I feel the VDV trade might hurt me. Should probably trade Given first, but Vorm always accumulates points and I thought I could go another week with him. Thoughts? Team is as follows:

    Vorm (Given)
Kompany Brown Enrique (Simpson and Hall)
    Brunt VDV Silva Bale (Moses)
    RVP Adebayor Ba

Haven't heard anything, but all the pitches have undersoil heating this year, so we won't have issues of frozen pitches.

Wigan games are always in doubt, because the area surrounding the ground resembles a paddock

Here is a poser for you , why are people captaining Ba over Adebyour WHEN

    a) Tottenham 1.40 to win , while newcastle only 1.80
    b) Tottenhams game is shorter oddds to have more than 2.5 goals
c Adebyour is shorter odds than Ba to score

Makes no sense to me why people are going ba over adebyour

c is an interesting one, but the first two are countered by the fact that Bale and/or VDV might suck up all of Tottenham's points, whereas Ba seems bt far most likely for Newc.

Yes but the bookies will of taken all this into account when they priced it up. They not always right , nut the pricing usually fairly accurate , and Adebyour considered more likely to score , i also suspect he more likely to assist.
Tottenham probably also more likely to get a penalty , being nmore favourites and having all those tricky players running into the box

Don't forget bookies' prices also reflect the market. If more people were betting on Adebayor then his odds would drop. So they also reflect (perhaps ignorant) popular thinking rather than just the bookies' own calculations of chances.

On average, Swans have conceded 2.5 goals per game on the road this year, they are gash away from home just like they were last year; the Yak stuck 4 past Vorm, and he has all the mobility of a wheelchair-ridden Giant Haystacks.

Ba is a decent pick, at least as good as Ade this week.

That's some piss poor reason for going for Ba because the majority on here have chosen him. Stop being a sheep man, and make your own choice!

By the way, take a look at Swans away record, and also Sunderland's defensive record this season. It might reveal why people are going for Ba over Adebayor.

    Going into the GW with

    Vorm

    BAE - Enriq - Samba

    VDV - Silva - Larsson - Walters

    Yak - Rooney C- RVP

Alright? feels like I don't like the look of my team .. " Ruddy, Brown, Shawx and BJ" are my bench.

Should I sell VDV or he's in pole pos to make it such a joyful weekend for me?

I'd suggest you beef up your bench. Wilko is a worry game time on the field wise, Dyer was dropped last week which isn't a good sign as well. You will need your full squad fit during the Xmas period knowing that Nani, Silva and RVP could be rested for one game or more as we get into the busy period.

Everyone saying Swansea are bad away , but they not that bad , apart from the blackburn game.

They drew 0 0 away to liverpool , and only lost 1 0 away to arsenal , so they can play away when they want to. They let in four at man c and stamford bridge , but many teams do that

I said it on here a few days ago, it was the lack of experience that cost them massively in their away games, not the squad capabilities. Still, for a promoted team, losing to the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and City away sounds normal. They did well at Norw, played brilliantly and nearly won at Liverpool.

    ..serious question time though...

..to those of us who watch a lot of Arsenals games, does Verminator still go up for corners and dead kick like he did when he was a centre back..???

..or does he sit back like a good left back is suppose too..???

...trying to decide if he is still a goal threat and whether i should throw in into the team because of it..
