This Sunday brings a whole host of soccer action across the globe. Right now Santos are trying valiantly to hold off Barcelona in Japan while in the evening there’s some tasty action on the continent. The Dugout Discussion opens for the juicy Premier League filling in this football sandwich…

QPR play host to Manchester United in an earlier than normal kick-off as Gary Neville sets in for a triple header of televised “Super Sunday” fixtures – with a fourth game off screens for good measure.

Neil Warnock drafts in Matthew Connolly for the injured Anton Ferdinand while Heidar Helguson returns from injury himself. Ferguson must have a temperature as he makes the rare decision to field an unchanged side from that which beat Wolves – his usual fables on the injury front also show Javier Hernandez fit enough to return to the bench. Teams in full are…

QPR XI: Cerny; L Young, Connolly, Gabbidon, Traore; Wright-Phillips, Barton, Faurlin, Mackie; Helguson, Bothroyd (Subs: Kenny, Orr, Hill, Derry, Taarabt, Campbell, Smith).

United XI: De Gea; Smalling, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Jones, Nani; Rooney, Welbeck (Subs: Berbatov, Giggs, Park, Hernandez, Young, Lindegaard, Fryers.).

Fantasy Managers will then have to settle in for not just Aston Villa hosting Liverpool but Manchester City against Arsenal on television screens. Plenty of captain’s armbands will be following Spurs vs Sunderland also going on while these two games take place.

This Dugout Discussion is also my last planned contribution for quite some time so I’ll wish you all many happy returns over the hectic festive period of football coming up while I’m here. Thanks for your continued support over what’s been a grand old 2011.

Jones - Evans = not particularly good
Smalling --> Shotton (or Caulker if you wait to gameweek 18) could proove fruitful
Adebayor --> Rooney = I would wait and see how the injury situation is at Tottenham. No need to change if Bale and Lennon gets back for the next game

If you really want Rooney in, and need to free money, I would keep Jones because of his OOP edge and easy fixtures, and rather look for cheap alternatives in Liverpool (brilliant clean sheet fixtures the next two weeks, and strong defensively atm), City (stoke home) or Swansea (they do the unthinkable clean sheet time and time again).

Baines -> Assou Ekotto seems good. But as I said over, I would await and see how the injury situation is at Tottenham. Changing Baines to one of the defenders on the teams I listed above - Agger and Enrique on Liverpool being my favourite choices until gameweek 19.

Walters sounds decent, BUT tough fixture next week. Other mid-range options like Drenthe and Larsson sounds more logical to me.

although aguero may head it into vermalen's foot in which case it's aguero's assist. it's just the direction it goes would be impossible without a vermaelen touch

That was never an Aguero assist. Vermaelen did brilliant to hook it away.

FPL have it down as Aguero though, hopefully it gets removed later.

Getting little nervous about Rooney now. He cost me much early season and things are starting to looks quite similiar now...

    My front 8 is;
    Nani, Silva, Vdv, Bale, Dyer
Rvp, Ade, Ba (changing for sturridge gw18)

I-m happy with that, but....still...is nani enough for gw18 and 19?
    What's the consensus today?

    Never touching my team again.

I'm so poor with transfers it's unreal - i think I've cost myself about 40 points in the last few weeks. Danny S and Silva for Ba and Mata.

I stand by my decisions because I believed that the other two would score more, but I'll hold my hands up and eat humble pie - Silva will be swiftly coming back into my team now.

Silva is by far the most owned player in the fantasy game (45.4%) so I don't think that goal changes much.

The next most owned is R Taylor, currently on 35.7%.
