As the official Fantasy Premier League version begun this week with over two million hopefuls, our very own Paddy Power Cup V was down the last 32. With no virtual coin toss nonsense to worry about here, let’s see how it panned out…

Top-score this week went to Mr Bungle, who battered Chris H 67 – 35. That was the widest margin of victory for the round by quite some distance.

In doubling his opponent’s score was, Declan came closest to that 32-point gulf, as he bossed lowest-scoring jinswick 44 – 22.

For the first time this season there wasn’t a single draw, with runty‘s 50 – 49 triumph over GreenWindmill the tightest affair.

Der-Hammer95 continued his fine form to reach the last 16 as the highest ranked fantasy manager in the tournament. His 54 – 38 drubbing of Peadarb was enough for another green arrow and 181st in the world.

The fixtures for the seventh round – taking place in Gameweek 19 – will be announced in due course, along with important Quarter-Final news.

Congratulations to this week’s winners, and commiserations to those leaving the competition at this stage.

I'm doing it next week as I just see Silva as too expensive for his returns. I'm getting City coverage, in the form of Aguero who has greater potential to score big and is not likely to be rotated when games go back to one a week.

I've had Silva since he was 9.5, now he is worth 10.5. Bale looks the real deal though and ib the double gameweek he could get orgasmic points

Worth doing a trade for a hit this GW? I am leaning towards no - the major issues are the two Man Utd defenders.

20 minutes before price change.. Price normally changed at 2.30 am in case you have exact budget for your transfer plan.

Friedel, Hennessey, Skrtel, Etherington, and Bale seem very likely to rise.
Sorensen, McAuley, Jagielka, and Valencia are the edge.

Jones' price could be dropped tonight. Not sure for Richards as he still flagged but probably.

A bit of an RMT if you wouldn't mind people.....

    Sorensen

    Enrique, Jones, BAE

    Bale, Silva, Nani, Walters

    Ba, RVP, Adebayor

    Subs: Westwood: Tiote, Simpson, Naylor

1.3 in the bank, 1 FT, any improvements to be made?

Need a differential, so bringing in Huth for Enrique this GW, worth it? would leave me 1.2 in the bank.

yep, i think huth is a great shout, can see him scoring in next game to be honest.

yeah im very keen on bringing in osman in for the DGW, seems to have taken flight recently with his goal and assist antics, when a player hits these runs they usually take time to fizzle out, and osman is like moyes's favourite at the moment being furthest up in midfield, good player, i prefer him to drenthe any day.

Interesting choice of Huth.. Anyway, I'm leaning to save FT to deal with uncertainty during this period. Enrique still has a better run of fixtures on Gwk 21-23 too.

yeah huth is golden still in terms of percentage owned, and fancy him to do great next GW.

i realise enrique has decent fixtures around that period, but still, they are playing poorly, and he isn't bring home any assists or BP's of late, need some attack from him, it seems they defend and thats it at the moment, he hardly attacks any more, huth seems the perfect fit, even until GW 22.

Anyway, as I have Enrique and plan to keep him for a while, I fancy his chance for assist with the absence of Suarez.. 🙂

He is a good player but I wouldn't go for him as a fantasy action. Firstly he is classed as a striker, secondly I think Carroll will most likely play when Suarez is out. Also Bellamy has 4 yellow cards.

Easily Negotiated my cup fixture after a nervy start to the gw's proceedings

Now however I'm seeking opinions on my transfers for the next gw

I've taken the opportunity this week to transfer out Ba ahead of his involvement in the African Cup of Nations, as he has a fixture against the tightest defense in the league and is an injury doubt

So I have gone for Ba -------> Odemwengie

The reason being, he seems to be much sharper in the past few games and besides possibly Spurs, in his next 8 fixtures he has no worrying teams to come up against.

The next transfer was much easier to make my mind up on

    I've gone for Adam-------> Arteta

The reason being Liverpools lack of goals and the imminent lack of their greatest threat in Suarez, not to mention arteta at times finding himself playing off of the fantasy god that is Van Persie(would have gone for walcott if it hadn't have been for his injury possiblility)

    My final transfer was:

    Ruddy ---------> Sorensen

Even easier again, Norwich haven't kept a clean sheet all season and stoke despite a couple of slip ups look reasonable once again

My team now looks like this:

    Sorensen

    Enrique-----Jones-----Clichy

    Nani--------Arteta---------Silva---------Bale

    Sturridge------V Persie------Odemwingie

    Subs: Vorm, Simpson, Taylor, Sinclair

    Thoughts please???? 🙂

Personally I would downgrade adam for somebody lower than arteta (possibly to drenthe or osman for the DGW) then do odemwingie to Adebaypor (which also benefits from the DGW!). Ruddy > Sorensen is a sound tranfer though, I wanted to do it myself but dont quite have the cash!

My plan going into this week had been Shawcross and Ba ➡ Ade and either Shotton or McCauley(would prefer Shotton for fixtures until WC but not sure how much he will play)

Other option would be to keep Shawcross for his fixtures and use Vermaelen instead to bring in BAE/Walker while also having funds to do the Ba to Ade trade.

Shotton and Shawcross are likely to get very similar points, so as long as he plays you've essentially got a free Ba > Ade upgrade!

The Vermaelen route would defo need a downgrade.

As you already have 3 top tier defenders Id say getting rid of shawcross is best

Forward is the only position of depth on Utd right now. Invest there at your peril.

How are you at dealing with disappointment? Javier, Welbz, Berbs is the pecking order, imo (Roon being locked in). The hat-trick just makes Dimitar look better in the shop window, I suspect.

If Adebayor and Suarez can stay at current prices until the 30th, I plan on taking Suarez out for Berbatov for the Blackburn game, then Berbatov straight away to Adebayor once the deadline passes so I'll have him for the DGW. Odds are prices will be heading for a change tomorrow night and I'll have to just do Suarez to Ade this week so I don't lose the money.

In other words, I reckon Berb is a great punt for this week and consider captaining him if some concrete info about him starting comes out.

Would appreciate an RMT here guys. How does my lineup look for this week? Is it best to go for Krul over Vorm? How do my subs and the order of them look? Thank you in advance! 🙂

    Krul

    Walters, Drenthe, Nani, Bale
    Sturridge, Adebayor, RVP

I have Krul and Vorm and I am going for Vorm becuase I reckon both will concede but you can always count on a few save points from Vorm. And while Spurs are good atm, I don't reckon they'll manage to put too many past Swansea because of their great home record.

People who are getting Berbatov are chasing last week's points. If Rooney gets 90 minutes vs Blackburn I think he will score very big.

Berb scored 5 goals on blackburn last time they played o.O , i just like the feeling of having someone different in ur lineup then everyone else. U gotta take chances to get ahead of the pack

hey guys, just need your opinion on phil jones. Will he be playing vs blackburn? Ive managed to hold on to him while most of my league got rid for the cheaper j evans, which in the end will give me a great differential. Was thinking of selling him for Martin Skrtl, who seems to have a knack for getting the odd goal and assist... i think he may be 6.0 or 6.1 now?

Looks like he'll play against Blackburn. In general: As a midfielder, a bargain. As a defender, overpriced. It depends on when you bought him, price wise.

Yeah mate I got him when he was cheap, you make a good point but he also made a few good runs early in the season from defense. But yeah, I think I'll keep him. Do like skrtel though...

What do we think of this?

    Vorm (Hennessey)
    BAE, Jones, Huth
    Mata, Nani(vc), Bale, Etherington
    RVP (c), Ade, Studge

    Enrique, Surman, Jags

Dont know who to captain or vc. I keep switching it between Nani and RVP altho Mata could be a viable option also i feel.
Cant decide my subs order either. Should i play Surman before Enrique as im pretty sure Pool wont get the sheet?
Do I play Vorm at home (which has been the rule of thumb this season) even tho he is up against Spurs? (which I have 3 of)

    Any help/advice/opinions appreciated.

OK. 0.3 rise next week when people realize double games and another 0.3 rise on Gwk 21 vs Wolves as he did so well during DGW. Then, fixtures turn bad for Spurs but people might keep him as only Spurs coverage and his price to rise again from Gw31.. Good chance.. 🙂

Depends if they use 11 or don't count the strikers as they don't get CS points. You would win if striker goals conceded don't count.
