Arsene Wenger is giving little away regarding the likelihood of Robin Van Persie’s start against QPR. Meanwhile, Alex Ferguson prepares to patch up his defence once again ahead of the visit of Blackburn, with Chris Smalling set to miss out and Phil Jones in line to return.

There’s no such injury concerns for Roberto Mancini, who will surely be shuffling his pack like a demented Paul Daniels ahead of two matches in the space of six days. The rest of the Premier League managers are left to play with far more limited options, but Fantasy managers still look set to enter a gameweek of uncertainty – nervously scanning their bench to assess the reserves on standby.

    I stupidly swapped bale>>mata 2 weeks ago. I have suffered.
    My front 8 is:
    Nani, silva, mata, drenthe
    Ba, rVp, adebayor

    I am about to swap Ba>>sturridge and, after the deadline, swap mata>>bale.
    Does this make sense? (considering Ba leaving in a few weeks and would be up against Enrique)
    The other reason on top of this is mata>>bale would cost 4 points before deadline...
    I hope I have raised a few valid points. Any advice appreciated.

          people are thinking hes bound to miss one of next two, besides that the run of fixtures isnt that impressive comparably, silva has been trending on the outs transfer wise, if he continues a stretch of games without returns, you can go without him, hope he drops .1 or .2, hope bale rise .2 at least, and when you wc, getting silva back could theoretically not be that expensive. thats my thinking anyway.

    This week is probably one of the strangest weeks for captain choices...it looks obvious until you start to think about it.
    Captain RVP might be rested.
    Jones playing against his former club, but question marks will he start, also with the smalling injury he looks like if he does play it wont be midfield.
    Rooney will definitely play in midfield if Jones is not in midfield. Waste of money.
    Valencia a wrong way around OOP player, will he do as well as last week? It is Blackburn after all...

    Kompany & Silva both consistent enough. But Silva may be rested, I got stung on that before. Kompany may not keep a clean sheet because Sunderland are renewed and playing at home.
    Walters v Wigan on penalties and OOP. But the guy looks tired and Wigan have played well against Liverpool and Chelsea.
    The Spurs players....OK they are flying but Swansea do not concede much at home.
    Sturridge playing Villa at home, looks like an obvious choice. But if RVP is going to be rested Sturridge is also a candidate. He is playing Wolves two days later.
    Ba if you have not done the Sturridge move logic could be he plays well against the big teams...is Liverpool a big team? They have a good defence will Ba score?

    I haven't watched many of Liverpool's games this season (why would I?) but seeing that Downing hasn't had any goals or assists does it look like this is more down to bad luck or is he just not getting involved? I never rated him as good enough for a top 4 club but I am really surprised by how poorly - statistically, at least - he's doing!

    I have just enough funds to swap Taylor/Evans for Caulker/Gallas for GW 20.

    Want to have 3 spurs players for DGW and given that an Evans fall or Gallas rise is on the horizon, should I do the transfers tonight before 9 other fixtures play and hope for the best or wait out in case of injury/suspension to other players?
