Everton’s stuttering season, with a constant struggle in front of goal, has done little to boost the reputation of their Fantasy assets. While Tim Cahill and Louis Saha continue to frustrate with sporadic appearances and fragile form, Leon Osman has slowly emerged as a worthy Fantasy prospect on the eve of a double fixture in gameweek 20.

While the pace and direct running of Royston Drenthe has garnered most of the attention around Goodison Park recently, Osman has been quietly been going about his business. He has yielded double figure returns in two of the last three weeks and averages 8.66 points a game in that time. Osman’s recent goal scoring performances against Norwich and Swansea were both awarded maximum FPL bonus points – he is now Everton’s leading player in this area. A rather dubious assist for Leighton Baines’ penalty at Sunderland saw Osman’s returns continue to flow, and he goes into the double gameweek fixtures with Bolton and Spurs as David Moyes’ in-form attacking player.

At times, the diminutive midfielder has been in and out of Moyes’ lineup, but recent performances have cemented a starting role. Osman has played on the left of midfield, or up in support of a lone striker. This versatility, coupled with injuries and a lack of form elsewhere in the squad, should see him nailed-on for the forthcoming fixtures.

Drenthe is undoubtedly the explosive option in the Everton midfield, and with a price difference of 0.8, there are factors in favour of the Dutchman. Osman’s form is eye-catching however and, with Drenthe failing to complete 90 minutes in his last three starts, Osman appears to be the more secure and consistent choice.

324 teams in the Xmas League. Highest score of 47 after a hit.
Many teams would be struggling if the 20% League started this week with 19 + 3.8 or 23 being the current safety score.

After GW22 if you pass the 3 rounds, I could let everyone join now but then deleting teams would be made harder & it would be better to just concentrate on teams in the top 100 for deleting. I wouldn't know how many teams are still in the comp but might change it to that.

I'll take that. TM, been a lurker and very infrequent poster here for ages. But cheers to your posts (some of your posts) in 2011 and your leagues. Happy New Year.

First player since Gary Kirsten that I feel comfortable, and not a nervous wreck, when he walks onto the park. And that includes Jacques Kallis. Superb cricketer. And yes.

Weird but true. Jacques Kallis is a legend though. In my biased mind, should go down as one of the all-time best all-rounders. Great batsman, quality bowler and very decent slipper.

I couldn't agree more. He is ludicrously underrated in the all-rounder stakes and is easily the best of the past 15 years, way ahead of Flintoff.

Keep beating the average by 20% then you will qualify for entry after GW22. Qualification scores will be on my site starting next week.

He was, again, probably our best today. Kept Agbonlahor in check for most of the game. He's got more interceptions and recovered balls combined than any other defender this week.

Mind you, haven't seen replays of the goals so don't know how culpable for them he was.

Yaaay. My rather average team has done ok this week. 41 points with Baines and Drenthe and quite a few bonus points still to come.

What to do with my 2 free transfers this week though.

    Current squad is:

    Vorm Krul
    Baines Jones Evans Enrique BAE
    Walters, Walcott, Laarson, Bale, Drenthe
    RVP, Fletcher, Long

Do I go for all 6 everton and spurs.
The obvious choice is to get ADE in but that probably means dropping RVP.
I'm leaning more towards dropping Walcott for Modric or Osman and upgrading Evans to Walker or Jag.
    Decisions, decisions.....

    Any thoughts?

Not sure who to blame more for that 3rd goal. De Gea for the obvious flap but Rafeal doesnt get off the ground at all, i know he is small and that but he doesnt jump... still think De Gea is a liability. Lets gets Lindegaard a run of games while David is fed some protein shakes or something, he isn't strong enough..
