Welcome to a brand new year at Fantasy Football Scout. Hope you all have a happy one.

Now you’ve disposed of your empty cans and pizzas boxes into a black bag, you can settle into your lazyboy and spend the afternoon shouting at your TV screen. We have two games: West Brom entertain Everton and Sunderland welcome Man City to the Stadium of Light.

The teams are in for the opening game, with the main talking point, the omission of Royston Drenthe. It seems there’s not even a place for him on the bench, with Jack Rodwell returning to the Everton lineup.

WBA: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Dawson, Shorey; Thomas, Scharner, Morrison, Brunt; Long, Odemwingie.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Heitinga, Neville, Rodwell, Osman, Cahill, Saha.

    Any word on Dremthe? Was going to switch out RVP and Vermaelen, bring in Adebayor and Baines for free to have five dgw players, but maybe Drenthe is worth dropping as well since he seems to be hated by his club.

    Best dgw midfielder under 9.4 worth picking up for a 4 pt hit?

        Thanks. Have Bale already and am just short of VDV. Donovan is intriguing, but then the question is whether or not Moses will outscore Drenthe in GW20.

    I don't understand some people on here, do they realise everton are terrible and that two games for an everton player is worse than one game for most other non everton players?

            I would say 90% of it is about goalscoring. Even more this season with the EA Index.

        You are looking at it from the wrong perspective, the game week starts tomorrow after the weekends games, THERE WILL BE ROTATION WHICH WILL DEPLEATE TEAMS.

        To have 6 players that could play twice will bail a lot of teams out of having a frustrating week like this one.

        Ask yourself this, in this gameweek once its over, would you like another 6 chances to score points after Rooney, Aguero and Silva got rested?

        My question above is precisely because Everton are terrible. Was holding onto Drenthe for the DGW only, but am wondering if it is worth a four pt hit to bring in a spurs midfielder like Modric in his place. Loving the rest of my midfield with bale silva Nani and Moses, but am a little short of bringing in VDV.
