Welcome to a brand new year at Fantasy Football Scout. Hope you all have a happy one.

Now you’ve disposed of your empty cans and pizzas boxes into a black bag, you can settle into your lazyboy and spend the afternoon shouting at your TV screen. We have two games: West Brom entertain Everton and Sunderland welcome Man City to the Stadium of Light.

The teams are in for the opening game, with the main talking point, the omission of Royston Drenthe. It seems there’s not even a place for him on the bench, with Jack Rodwell returning to the Everton lineup.

WBA: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Dawson, Shorey; Thomas, Scharner, Morrison, Brunt; Long, Odemwingie.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Heitinga, Neville, Rodwell, Osman, Cahill, Saha.

        Thanks for the advice lads, already got Moses in there (he's staying too!) - Frei is a good shout RFP, might give him a whirl.............Also like the look of this McClean kid for Sunderland on the wing today, only £4.5 and they have Wigan up next with Nor & Swa in a few weeks at home too?

    OK, so probably like most I now have Drenthe / Brown and Evans all injured or doubts. I am thinking Evans may be back for the following home fixture, and I can do Brown > BAE and Drenthe > Osman for a -4 and have no change, thinking of doing it now in case of any price falls etc, but tempted to hang on till the morning for news on Drenthe / Brown? - Didn't look too good for Brown though, who knows on Drenthe.

      Definitely. I'm hoping for that. Most of the players have either a Yakubu or Moses on the bench and I have a Nathan Dyer (who actually looked good yesterday but ended with his customary 2 points). Hope Silva comes on in the 65th or so.
