Welcome to a brand new year at Fantasy Football Scout. Hope you all have a happy one.

Now you’ve disposed of your empty cans and pizzas boxes into a black bag, you can settle into your lazyboy and spend the afternoon shouting at your TV screen. We have two games: West Brom entertain Everton and Sunderland welcome Man City to the Stadium of Light.

The teams are in for the opening game, with the main talking point, the omission of Royston Drenthe. It seems there’s not even a place for him on the bench, with Jack Rodwell returning to the Everton lineup.

WBA: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Dawson, Shorey; Thomas, Scharner, Morrison, Brunt; Long, Odemwingie.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Heitinga, Neville, Rodwell, Osman, Cahill, Saha.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open.

if u want to go on with ur transfer, then ba>yak would be the best bet

    will explain better.. team is
    Vorm Cerny
    Jones Enrique Caulker Shotton Evans(4.5)
    Silva Mata Nani Bale Moses
    Rvp Adebayor Sturridge(6.6)
0.3 in bank.. 2 free transfers
(Brackets contain price paid for player)

Dont wanna get rid of any of my midfield.. and dont have enough cash for a Tot defender(ignorin everton) for Evans
Considerin Sturridge to Yakubu and Evans to BAE for free..
With Chelsea in the form they in Mata seems enough.. also Yak has 3 home games in 4.. leaves 0.7 in the bank to upgrade shotton/cerny next week
Sound? will lose a lot of value on sturridge but points greater than value.. and with rumors of hulk etc in jan surely sturridge will start bein a rotation risk..

    Vorm (krul)
    Bae, Evans, vermaelen (Enrique, RTaylor)

    Rvp, sturridge, adebayor

OK, in the Yahoo league, the guru said Vermaelen might have a three week injury-- but I heard others say it's a one week mild calf strain. Evans out makes sense for a hit, but you can't afford a DGW player. So I would trade out Verms for a good DGW player== walker or BAE and hope for the upside of one CS.

IMO taking a hit for a defender is a not good idea. However, becasue of DGW maybe VERM for Jags. At least you should will break even from 2 games. (2 + 2). If clean sheet or g or a then you profit from it.

i had them both. sold evans for shotton (fail) and think i will keep vermaelen to see if he is fit after fa cup which gives him a good while to come back. but you dont really want two of three defs playing against city and utd! will you lose money selling tv5?

    Happy new year everyone!!

29 points so far this gw 😎 Only dropped 4 places though 🙂

Cup opponent is also on 29, we both have Silva, he has Kompany too, looks like I'm heading out.

Only way I could possibly win is Silva not playing at all, and I get Jagielka off my bench. And then a Kompany blank. It could happen I guess?

Heres hoping for my first bit of FPL luck in 2012.

Apologies if already posted but Pardew confirms NUFC vs Man Utd will be the last PL match Ba is available for (we had applied to keep them for the QPR game):

"Hopefully, we’ll have them both (Tiote and Ba) for January 7, and that’ll be the last game. We’re watching all of that. It impacts on us. If Yaya Toure doesn’t go, why should Cheik go? We’re all in the same boat.”

Right, but GW11 or so he was also on the watchlist and promptly didn't start for that week or the following three weeks. Evans may be a utility guy, but he's a weak fantasy player- inconsistent starts, yellows and reds.

Does anyone know if it was Ciaran Clark or Stephen Warnock who played in midfeld for Villa yesterday please?

    Thanks,

As a villa fan, would you say he's pretty nailed on for the next 4 or likely to be dropped for Bent next game and bit of a reshuffle?

          Unless it's from Demi I assume it's a wind-up.
