Welcome to a brand new year at Fantasy Football Scout. Hope you all have a happy one.

Now you’ve disposed of your empty cans and pizzas boxes into a black bag, you can settle into your lazyboy and spend the afternoon shouting at your TV screen. We have two games: West Brom entertain Everton and Sunderland welcome Man City to the Stadium of Light.

The teams are in for the opening game, with the main talking point, the omission of Royston Drenthe. It seems there’s not even a place for him on the bench, with Jack Rodwell returning to the Everton lineup.

WBA: Foster; Jones, McAuley, Dawson, Shorey; Thomas, Scharner, Morrison, Brunt; Long, Odemwingie.

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Heitinga, Neville, Rodwell, Osman, Cahill, Saha.

    Got to hope Citeh struggle and need Silva, otherwise Yakubu comes on for Mark as well as Moses

    i dont think nani will prove useful till the time the other players get fit and he starts playing at the either flank....he is not at all fruitful wen he plays in the central mmidfeild!!!

      I'm really surprised because they were great up front when they came up here, really took advantage of our defensive fragilities at the time.

    No Silva or Aguero doesnt upset me too much with the impending McAuley 6 points to come off my bench but i know one of two things will happen now: either Everton will score or both Aguero and Silva will come on for 1 point.....

    Why does the FA pack the Xmas and new year schedule like this every single season?? Surely they've realised by now that the scheduling is a farce and forces managers to field second string teams? It really doesn't help promote quality in the league when you have man city reserves rock up to play.
