You might have noticed that Fantasy Football Scout has continued to grow this season. Hopefully, this will continue into next term and, with ideas and plans forming week on week, I’ve decided it’s time to look to add at least one new member to our team of contributors.

We’re looking for a writer to join Sir Paulos’ editorial team – someone who can commit their time and enthusiasm to the site, take charge of a section and make it there own. Hopefully someone who can grow with us and help us into another exciting season of development.

Ideally we’re looking for someone who…

  • Has a knowledge and passion, not just for Premier League football but for Fantasy Football. You will have opinions and be able to back them up with enthusiasm.
  • Is willing to volunteer and contribute their passion and their time to become an invaluable member of a growing editorial team.
  • Has good, strong writing skills with the ability to produce tight, entertaining editorial – in line with the house style, but with a twist of personality.
  • Is available to contribute opinions throughout the week and at weekends, helping to shape decisions and editorial direction within the Scout team.
  • Is available to contribute articles on a weekly basis and be prepared to take charge of an established section of the site, making it their own and working in collaboration with the team to grow it further.

If you feel you’d like to put yourself forward for this role, please send a short summary of yourself, along with a sample of your writing to writers@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

If you don’t have any samples of writing available, please supply a Watchlist article – of a player of your choice, written to our template, an example of which can be found here.

This process is typically lengthy and it’s likely that Sir Paulos and I will be looking at applications from now right through until the end of January. Please be patient with us, we will try to get back to applicants as soon as possible and we will keep you up to date with the process via the site as we go.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have just got off the phone to my mate who is an 'ardent life long Swansea football fan' really excited about is boyhood team gonna 'kick our asses next week' (I am a Sunderland fan)...............its funny but for the 12 years I lived in the dump that is Swansea NOBODY EVER MENTIONED football!!!!!!!!!............Now all of a sudden they have all been 'fans for ever and would die for the 'Jack Army!!!!!!..................they are all like sheep!!!!! What is it with you and all your punctuation marks????????????????????????

Hardly suprising though, the bigger a club gets the more people in the area will notice and support it. Rugby is still no.1 around these parts though, no doubt about it.

Nah I agree with you tbh. I'm not from Swansea itself, way up the Valley in the mountains. But I work in Swansea and the amount of people who never took the slightest bit of interest in football before the play-off last year and now talk about it as if they've always been Swans fans is annoying, but I suppose it is good for the club. More ticket sales, more shirt sales, etc........................................................

      I am from Swansea and I couldn't agree more.....shocking!

My mate who for as long as I can remember has followed the Gooners, came to the house wearing a Swans top.....when I asked why, his response was "got to now they're in the prem". What a joke of a fan, where was he when they were in the old division 4 almost out of the football league all together....thats when they needed him!

End of the day who ever you choose to support stick by them...or support no one!

    WC draft

    Vorm/Mignolet

    Kompany/Evans/Naylor/Simpson/Kelly
    Silva/Bale/Dempsey/Valencia/Barfa

    RVP/Aguero/Sturridge

I did have Jones but just cant justify him being the expensive defender when Evans is so cheap and Citys fiixtures are so good.

    Any suggestions or improvements?

I have heard people moaning a few times this season about feeling gutted about dropping Silva, I can't understand why anyone would given his form this season.

Transferring one of the most consistant players, one who is fixture proof is pure madness. I have had him since gw1 and unless he picks up an injury that will not be changing!

people are too tempted by other mids' fixtures sometimes e.g vdv getting the double week or nani getting wigan and b'burn at home in a row.

some people live "in the moment".

they don't believe in season keepers and if a player is not performing they simply choose another player who they believe will offer a better return.

if it works then fine and if it doesn't they move on to the next player with the best potential for that GW.

The only issue that prevents most people from having this philosophy is the price changes.

There are certain fantasy myths that have come into common usage and to a certain extent the "season keeper" is one of those. I don't believe in it personally but I do believe in patience and a cautious philosophy when it comes to players that have had considerable price rises.

I've never owned Dempsey before in my FPL career (5th season), but could this be Clint's time to shine? Fulham are starting to look good and playing attacking football under big cuddly Martin Jol.

So, Ramsey -> Dempsey - yay oder nay? If nay, better moves for me this week? Go on, I dare ya...

And thats it. He is surely back in the team now and will get a run of games. Unless jol is lying and still intends to sell him. If Dempsey plays 'in the hole' he is a great shout. If not then I think he is too iffy. A wide player for Fulham at 8.5m isn't worth it imo

Needed to switch larsson to him asap. I was actually mocking people on here who had him a month or so ago but since O'Neill's took over he looks a different player and by far our main creative threat (barring larsson's set pieces).

instead of a 5.0 mid I would much rather have morison, the only flaw i see is that it takes up a striker spot, but morison is in fact doing better than many of the more expensive strikers. thoughts?

Agreed - I'm getting Sturridge back in for the next few, but if I need to free up a few mil, Morison's def where I'm looking.

rvp/aguero/cheap striker is what Im aiming for. Morison, Helguson, someone cheap enough to have a midfield of Nani, Silva, Dempsey, Mata, Sessegnon. Or something like that.

i did Ba > Morison but benched him this week (did 3-5-2 with Ade and RvP up front).

he has good fixtures but currently toying with the idea of Morison > The Yak for GW21

I know he is this years DJ Cambel. A serious bargain which can work well with
2 expensive strikers (e.g. RVP, Rooney, Kun)
and 3 expensive mids (e.g. Nani, Mata, VDV, Silva, Demsey, Bale)
Could even give you extra value in defense for the likes of Richards or Jones.
Would be a great option for those on a wildcard

Not having the greatest of weeks, everyone seems to have done a little better, god damn you Silva/Reina!!

On 26 points but have Bale(c), Ade, Nani, Jones, T.Cahill, Jags, Friedel +1 point from Hoolahan. Will this gameweek still hold true for me do you think guys?
