You might have noticed that Fantasy Football Scout has continued to grow this season. Hopefully, this will continue into next term and, with ideas and plans forming week on week, Iโ€™ve decided itโ€™s time to look to add at least one new member to our team of contributors.

Weโ€™re looking for a writer to join Sir Paulosโ€™ editorial team โ€“ someone who can commit their time and enthusiasm to the site, take charge of a section and make it there own. Hopefully someone who can grow with us and help us into another exciting season of development.

Ideally weโ€™re looking for someone whoโ€ฆ

  • Has a knowledge and passion, not just for Premier League football but for Fantasy Football. You will have opinions and be able to back them up with enthusiasm.
  • Is willing to volunteer and contribute their passion and their time to become an invaluable member of a growing editorial team.
  • Has good, strong writing skills with the ability to produce tight, entertaining editorial โ€“ in line with the house style, but with a twist of personality.
  • Is available to contribute opinions throughout the week and at weekends, helping to shape decisions and editorial direction within the Scout team.
  • Is available to contribute articles on a weekly basis and be prepared to take charge of an established section of the site, making it their own and working in collaboration with the team to grow it further.

If you feel youโ€™d like to put yourself forward for this role, please send a short summary of yourself, along with a sample of your writing to writers@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

If you donโ€™t have any samples of writing available, please supply a Watchlist article โ€“ of a player of your choice, written to our template, an example of which can be found here.

This process is typically lengthy and itโ€™s likely that Sir Paulos and I will be looking at applications from now right through until the end of January. Please be patient with us, we will try to get back to applicants as soon as possible and we will keep you up to date with the process via the site as we go.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

This is my first crack at a WC, don't plan on using it for another couple of GW's:

    Vorm (Sorensen)

    Richards, Jones, Shotton (Kelly, Simpson)
    Bale, Silva, Nani, Dempsey (mcClean)
    Yak, Ade, RVP

Your opinions are welcome and appreciated!

nani's fixtures get super tough after GW21, also ADE - would consider sturridge to be later replaced by ba, and in midfield nani and maclean for walters and sess/larson

True, you wouldn't be hoping for too many CS in that run, but like you say, Nani's shown he can do it against anyone.

Get rid of him because you need the money elsewhere, not because of his fixtures.

I reckon they'll score against newcastle at home and against arsenal it will be a goals galore. I'd be worried about ManU and Liverpool (even though the absence of Suarez will be significant)

Devils Advocate - There's a school of thought to say that they're only in contention for the title because their fixtures so far have been kind. With trips to ManC, Ars, Liv and Che to come they may be in for a rough ride. Ade did well at home to Liverpool but Ade & Bale's scoring against the other top sides is nothing to write home about.

Great points, I actually like Ade and bale for those fixtures...both have proven (Bale moreso on the CL stage) that they can really eat against high-level competition. The question marks are the marginal players: Parker, Defoe, Sandro and even VDV, I am straining my brain to remember even substantial Dutch national team duty where he has done exemplary in the past 3-4 years? Can someone help me in this respect? I know injuries and team fallouts/rows have always been an issue with the Dutch.

Thanks for the suggestions, all of your concerns crossed my mind, had been fearful of Sess since befre the Bendy Bus, but they look to be shaping up well.
There just doesn't seem to be much differential in Walters, and he looks a bit gassed at the mo. I Has Strurridge on my current squad and benched him this week. I just smell some bad times for him around the corner. Nani will stay for me, I dumped him a couple of GW's ago and feel I will jump on him after he's rotated by SAF so you could be right in that respect. As for Yak, I had him for his HT an dumped him soon after, but you´re probably right there is a better value Striker out there. And out of Bale and Ade you're right one of the two has to go. they both can't be 'fixture-proof'. Messing around I actually had Kompany and Richards in my squad...I've had Richards since day one so I am a bit reluctant to get rid, I may actually have them both and use Kompany as my stud/clone to buy in-form defenders from week to week. I can see Richards coming back into attacking for soon.

It's gonna be tough to part with Micah, being that I've weathered through his calf issues and sickness, I will watch him for at least one more match. He just doesn't seem to be even looking to overlap and bust into the final 1/3 like before. This may be more of a refocus my Mancini post-Newcastle (14pts but no clean sheet) to not break out as much and conserve his body. Regardless I want to see him more assured especially when Zab is no longer a rotation nemesis due to Europa. He very well may have to go... 0.3 is nothing to sweat in these times...

No doubt about him scoring a lot more than the other keepers out there, but you have to admit that there were a lot of home games to mid table teams. The coming fixtures are difficult, and I don't see cleanies.

There are so many other budget keepers who have good potential. This goalkeeper rotation after the Jan WC is a pain in the ass.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Dempsey outscore Sess for the rest of the season, given the fixtures. However Dempsey's in a different price bracket - if it's value for money you're after it's harder to call.

      2 reasons:

      1. Dempsey is more expensive and therefore gives the impression that he's more likely to give you a better points haul.

      2. Dempsey is consistant and has delievered in the prem for a number of seasons.

Not an easy call. I would definitely replace Ruddy. Will give you more flexibility when Vorm is away or against the big sides. See if Lindegaard plays tonight and how he does. Sunderland are on the up and will be defensively sound under O'Neil so Mignolet is a good option. Stoke are always pretty solid at the back and Schwarzer loves a save. I would look at the next 10 games and pick one on that basis.

De Gea will play the next 2, SAF confirmed. The problem with rotation is that you are gonna miss some of double figures from Vorm like Liv away, also you can't predict when he is going to have tone of saves and penalty save. Also that 0.7m more for Schwarzer can be very useful in other areas of the team.

Also let me don't even mention that nervous when you are gonna bench the wrong keeper

So, I was able to get 6 DGW players into my team for this week with just a 4pt hit. (We'll have to wait on the merit of that decision, but...)

Now I shift my attention to getting them out.

    Team is:

    Vorm/Sorenson
    Young/Jags/Baines/Evans/Naylor
    Bale/VDV/Nani/Sess/Drenthe
    Yakubu/RVP/Ade

I like the look of Ireland, Glen Johnson and Silva moving forward, and not really wanting to change too much. I welcome any thoughts on the targets I mention as well as what folks would do.

Bought Bale at 7.9, Nani at 10, Ade at 8, RVP at 11.9, Yakubu at 5.5, Sess at 6.1, so not looking to move any of those players. I know we don't win on value, but those players all have good fixtures coming up and I wouldn't be able to get them all back in if I transfered them out now.

    Thanks!

hard to tell, but with 4 to play (counting ade twice) and sess and silva in your team (i'm really hoping drenthe doesn't appear so as to collect sess' points, myself), you could definitely stay in the top 100K.

all depends on whether everton keep a clean sheet, i imagine, as you don't have any coverage there, but 30% of players do.

don't think i would put enrique in a WC team for GW24. that GW begins a run of TOT, man, EVE, ARS, sun

also, enrique has a 24min/point rate whereas glen johnson has a 18.5min/point rate. with johnson healthy again, you can project 87.6 points from him between now and the end of the season (that may be low-balling it, actually, as johnson usually does much better than a single goal in a half-season), versus 67.5 points from enrique (and enrique's attacking output rate this season has already surpassed all his previous seasons).

finally, with liverpool not really producing much in terms of crosses converted to goals, you'd want johnson's goal threat over enrique's assist threat, surely.

but at the end of the day, the question is, would you pay 0.8M FPL money for 20+ more points in a FPL season?

    Friedel (Vorm)

    Nani(c) Bale Silva (Osman, Agustien)

Doing my WC for GW21 (need to as 2 x Everton and 3 x Spurs).

So far I’ve looked come up with the following:

    Vorm, Hennessey

    Simpson, McAuley, Senderos, Enrique, Koscielny

    VDV, Nani, Silva, Dempsey, Sessengnon

    Odemwinge, Adebayor, Sturridge

    0.3m remaining in the bank.

Once returned from ACN I intend to bring in Yaya Toure (prob for Silva) and Ba for Odemwinge. This would likely free up cash to bring in a Baines / Kompany for one of my weaker defenders.

Having looked at the sacrifices needed elsewhere to bring in RVP / Aguero I decided against it – the risk of injury and subsequent major re-constructive surgery to any team is too high to me.

Any feedback for my team / plans would be appreciated?

With VDV and Nani downgraded to Bale and Walters and you might then be looking at RVP. I wouldn't pass up a free WC to ignore him if I didn't already have him. Koscielny? meh. I'd rather have Huth for 0.1 less.

Lots of love for Sunderland and rightfully so after last night's performance.

Seeing lots of posts concerning Sess and lots of mavericks (myself included) considering McClean for that 5th midfield spot in the Jan WC...

but no one seems to be mentioning Vaughan at 5.1m. He seems to be a MON favourite getting lots of gametime since the new manager's arrival. I actually like him at Blackpool too although he was stuck in the significantly large shadow of Charlie Adam.

I can't consider David Vaughan until I've watched last night's game...but McClean is firmly on the radar for that 5th spot ๐Ÿ˜€
