The cameras will be down at the Etihad Stadium but our thoughts will certainly be focused on events at White Hart Lane as Spurs play their first of two gameweek fixtures carrying the hopes and armbands of many Fantasy managers. The Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to collect the joy and pains at the Lane as they happen.

The team news finds Rafael Van der Vaart, Emmanuel Adebayor and the heavily backed Gareth Bale safely nestled in Harry Redknapp’s lineup. Scott Parker’s absence leads to a shift to 4-4-2 though, with Jermain Defoe up front with Adebayor – that may well prove to be significant given the recent success of Bale and Van der Vaart in the 4-3-3, only time will tell. What we do know is that Spurs are up against an injury ravaged West Brom side, without the likes of Chris Brunt, Shane Long, Jonas Olsson and Youssouf Mulumbu; Graham Dorrans, Craig Dawson, Simon Cox and George Thorne all start for Roy Hodgson’s men.

Elsewhere tonight, City face Liverpool, while Wigan take on Martin O’Neill’s Sunderland. The most significant news from the team-sheets in that one is that Roberto Martinez appears to have rested Victor Moses to the bench, despite his recent form. Sunderland meanwhile, have Kieran Richardson back in their lineup. He comes in for Seb Larsson, the latest to be struck down by the Black Cats’ virus – nasty stuff clearly.

There’s no Luis Suarez at City tonight, as reported earlier, the Uruguayan starts his eight-match ban with immediate effect. Bizarrely, Kenny Dalglish goes into the game without Craig Bellamy, electing to bring Dirk Kuyt into his starting lineup in place of the Welshman; Steven Gerrard is once again on the bench. As expected, City bring back the big guns – David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Gael Clichy, James Milner and Micah Richards all make returns.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

no offence but i dont see the point in those sideways type trades, i am sticking with silva all the way, over the season they will prob only finish a dozen or maybe less pts apart., imo that is.

3 bad scoring weeks, and only played 36 mins in one of those games, the top scoring mid and you guys are still saying he has to earn his spot in your team!!! and as for not putting the arm band on him? that is prob a valid call, but he just keeps producing so very happy to have him sitting in my mids and producing nearly 6 pts per game on ave.

It's not the stats that are stupid. It's the human determination that certain stats are more important. So blame the guy who decided shooting at goal was a heinous offence and more damaging to your team's chances of winning if it hits the post, than passing it to an opposing player.

Very true but rating an act on the pitch via a stat is always going to be trouble because the algorithm can never be right. Every block is different, every tackle, every pass, every interception, everything is different, they can never be rated by the same set of standard rules.

Agree 100%, I'm wondering where did they get that idea at first place - to let computers analyze people. Football is a form of art, we cant rate performances and impact players had based on stats, stats have no meaning without context. Computers know nothing about context. BP-s have lost their original meaning and dont add anything to the game, theyre just random points awarded (it's exciting though but just a gamble)

Has anyone seen the Sunderland goals yet as BBC shows this

Sunderland goal: You just don't save these, as Sunderland score another beauty. James McClean runs in from the right and sees a shot blocked into the path of David Vaughan - who takes aim and lashes the ball first time into the top corner from 20 yards. Right in the postage stamp. It's turning into a fine evening for Martin O'Neill but a disaster for Wigan.

doesn't look like Sess assist and not awarded on one of other FF games I play

Nice work. He's a bargain price, might be one to have in place for Norwich/Swansea home games coming up.

Could be a popular 5th midfielder when all the WCs kick in

"Sunderland were having one of those nights and with 10 minutes to go a Sessegnon shot hit Alcaraz and rebounded to Vaughan 20 yards out who blasted a strike of the highest quality into the top corner."

Great news for me is that I have Richards definitely subbed in, may have Dyer in if Smalling doesn't play. Pretty sure he's out with illness though.

On the subject of BPs, if it was done by a person, Modric would get them nearly every game. The class of his play is unreal. There was one moment tonight when he was surrounded by 4 players and he shrugged, leaned back and then skipped away through 2 tackles. Genius!

Agreed, he's essential to their play but crap for points in the game.

All my defenders get clean sheet.Only Al Habsi was in between piece of sh*ts. Missing Vorm's cleanie ..\

Anyone got any idea when the bonus points will be added this game week? Will it be after the very last game, or at the week long interval?

    Vorm/Al Habsi
    Baines/Enrique/Jagielka/J Evans/Simpson
    Bale/Modric/Nani/Mata/Diame
    Ade/Ba/Sturr

EVE/TOT focussed enough to warrant using my WC this week? Can't ditch them either as getting rid of Ba for ACON takes priority. Thinking of basing a new team around RVP/Aguero/Silva for the rest of the season.
