Views from a united fan
After watching Newcastle V United tonight, these are my views:
1. The gap is closing on Barcelona
2. Our Midfield are the best in the world
3. Rio still has another 5 years at the top
4. Carrick is better than Xavi
5.Giggs could play for another ten years in midfield
6Park is a great Player
7.Rooney Deserves every penny of the 250K a week he gets.
8. We dont need to buy in the transfer window
9.Glazers are great owners
and finally.............
10.I havn't felt this sarcastic in ages!!!!!!!!Open ControlsRooney should be bombed out - but who would take him?
Open ControlsHaha great post mate!
As a United fan you've summed it all up perfectly for me.
I share the exact same views, the rest of the league has caught up. We need a world-class signing in midfield.
Man.City excite me as a team.
Tottenham even more so.
United need to be refreshed, i say ship Rio out whilst we can still get some cash for him, and possibly pay 2 players wages per week. Carrick offers no creativity whatsoever, or Gibson, or Cleverly and Anderson is a waste of time. The only MF i like is Fletcher for his hard work more than anything. Park runs around like a headless chicken at times and i will never criticise Giggs, he is legend. Nani, Valencia and Young are fine imo but we need something in CM and quickly, Sjneider would have been perfect...Open ControlsCheers mate, thanks for the response.!!! Glad you liked it.
I completely agree with everything you said, Sjneider is needed desperatly, We need creativity and strenght in midfield!!!Open ControlsIt's probably a mind game for SAF to say no new signing needed in Jan to play down greedy agent. Anyway, I'm not united fan. Does he usually mean what he says?

You just know that it's not your Fantasy season when your main rival's Goalkeeper scores!
DGW players for me so far:
Bale: 6
Ade: 2
VDV: 3
Drenthe: 0
Baines: 1
Saha: 2
Rubbish ๐ !Open ControlsAde ๐ so double 2 to reach the enormous sum of 4 lol

6, 6 and 2 for me.
I said all along Everton weren't worth it, they have 90 minutes to try and prove me wrong..Open Controlswould prefer a 4-4 draw with Bale and Drenthe hattricks.
Open ControlsI doubt Drenthe starts to be honest
Open ControlsJust checked your team - amazed you are wildcarding this week!! You can only be making about 3-4 changes!!
Open Controls7-8, actually
Open ControlsHey JOA, you sticking to Vorm, or shipping him?
Open ControlsKeeping, of course. I am not willing to change my grav ๐
Open Controls
Wow. If wildcarding now with your team I would probably be keeping:
Vorm, Walker, Enrique, Simpson, Mata, Nani, Silva, Bale, Moses, Ade, Sturridge and RVP!! And probably JEvans too!!Open ControlsMata, Nani, Enrique not must haves imo.
Open ControlsNobody is a must have.
Open Controls
I have gotten rid of Walker, Simpson, Nani, maybe Moses and Sturridge
Open ControlsWalker is Richards as I fancy a Fletcher goal or something.
Simpson is just Williamson so nothing lost or gained there, except 0.1 ๐
Nani I am sick of, not because he is inconsistent but because I despise United and don't like him in my team haha, he was sacrificed to Dempsey for Aguero.Open Controls*something from Wolves.

Still buzzing from last night. Well worth getting up at 4am for!! We absolutely dominated the champions.
I'm looking for a non biased perspective. In my opinion, we have 7 top draw players who would get into the 1st team squads of most, if not all of the top 6. They are: Krul, Colo, Saylor, Santon, Tiote, Cabeye, Ba. Add to that other quality players in Jonas, Arfa, Marveaux, and decent squad men in simpson, williamson, guthrie, raylor, obertan, best, ameobi, and a load of promising youngsters coming through. With a couple more first team signings and a few more decent squad players I think that we could definitely be challenging for the top 6 next season. We could even this season if we survive the african nations cup and avoid any more major injuries. What do you reckon? I ask this, because i've noticed several people on here expecting us to drop down the league, and even more expecting sunderland to finish above us. Has last nights result changed peoples thinking?
CheersOpen ControlsAll about Ba. Face it.
Open ControlsI was very impressed with the result - had expected a similar score the other way to be honest!!
I think you will really miss Ba when he goes, but you definitely have a shout at top 6, although I think you will fall short this year.
Of the 7 top draw players, I don't think you can include Santon or Cabaye in there (not seen enough yet), however I think it's more of a team effort you are where you are, rather than individual players. Hats off to Pardew - he's done a great job.Open ControlsI agree with you on Santon. But I put him in there based on his pedigree, potential and how good he has looked in the few games he has played. I think that the Cabeye/ Tiote centre midfield partnership is the 3rd best in the league. Silva/ Toure, and Parker/ Modric probably a shade better. Cabeye would walk into Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool midfield. Thoughts?
Open Controls
Very good game yesterday. Newcastle are impressive. I was utterly stunned when Pardew was appointed manager (I rated him in the same bracket as Souness), but I see he has learned many new tricks.
To be honest though, and probably sounding arrogant, the only player I can see breaking into the Spurs first eleven is Steven Taylor. He, along with Cabaye, Tiote and Ba are your 4 key players in my opinion. Then again, this is arguably the best first eleven in the clubs history.
For me though I rate you as the 6th best team currently, and Europa League is well within reach.
The tiers this season seem to be something like:
1st: City, United, and dare I say Spurs
2nd: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle
3rd: Sunderland, Stoke, Swansea
4th: Villa, Everton, Fulham, WBA, Norwich
5th: Blackburn, Bolton, QPR, Wigan, WolvesOpen ControlsSaylor is good. But Colo is incredible. Up there with Vidic and Kompany as the best defenders in the league IMO. If I was to pick the nest of the two defences I would probably go Colo / Dawson
I would personally take Krul over Friedel and Ba over Adebayor. Parker v Tiote is just about equal (he was an absolute beast last night). Santon is potentially better than BAE. You can have the rest.
I agree with you though, your team is incredible at the minute. I was talking to a Man Utd supporter and saying that man for man, spurs are clearly superior. He agreed, but suggested the ferguson factor would keep them on top. Thoughts?Open ControlsI see that our evaluation of certain players are different. Might have something to do with club our biases ๐
When you went down, I remember thinking Coloccini was one to blame directly, as your defence was appalling. But obviously something has happened since then. I will take a look at him.
Best defender in the league though - surely Ledley King. He sleeps in a cotton cocoon, takes his meals in a cryogenic chamber, and the only training he is allowed is walks in the pool and speed chess.
Seriously though, Krul is a find, but Friedel is very reliable and inspires confidence.
Do not know much of Santon, but BAE has learned from his many mistakes and is growing on me game by game. If you say the potential is higher, then I wont argue to much though.o
As for United. The SAF factor is important of course. From United I would have Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Rooney. But the one thing I would like the most from United, is habit of winning, and winning trophies. This is a very important factor when things start going badly (which they must soon for us).Open Controls
Coloccini (who is better than S.Taylor) and S.Taylor would make Spurs team.
I think if Santon keeps playing regularly he would be ahead of BAE.
Ba would make any team at the momentOpen Controls
Think I'm just gonna go Vorm/Ruddy for the WC.. Benching Vorm == Suffering
Open ControlsTim Krul had an assist?
What a week for keepersOpen ControlsUnited at the moment:
GK- Equals a mess, both inexperienced and making errors.
Defence- At the moment we have Evra, Jones is doing ok, the rest are either injured or not good enough.
Mf- Nani, Valencia and Young are fine on the wings. We have Fletcher in the middle, the rest are cack.
FW- Plenty of quality upfront, no need to do anything but they just need to get their posteria's in gear.
City:
GK- Hart, an awesome keeper
DF- Spoilt for choice, Kompany world-class, Richards offers something, rest do ok
MF- Again spoilt for choice. Y.Troure as powerhouse, Silva creative masterclass, Barry and Milner do the job, Johnson comes in and scores regularly, De Jong protects the defence.
FW- i can't say one or the other's team is better, though City are getting the goals....Open ControlsMan U;
GK - Nothing wrong with Lindegaard, he couldn't do much for the goals conceded.
Defence - fair enough, they're injured..
MF - I don't see how you can say Young is fine on the wing, but not mention Carrick/Cleverley (when fit) in the middle. Carrick has been good the last however many weeks, Cleverley is a big difference for United and Young is shit.
FW - Agreed, but they are inconsistent
All in all, City are better in every aspect.Open ControlsI like Valencia and Nani on the wings, but Young is good to have in the squad though i can see where you are coming from.
We're the only team rotating GK's at the moment, even though they aren't injured?
Cleverly isn't a Sjneider, or a Xavi, or a Fabregas, Gerrard/Lampard, i mean we need somebody of that caliber.
I'd like a De Jong, a Tiote, Modric or Parker figure in there tbh also.Open ControlsCleverley is good.
Just because De Gea and Lindegaard are being rotated doesn't mean they are shit.Open Controls
Ya its hard to except but City excel in most part of the team. United need to buy!!!
We have a group of core players who can be class on their day:
evra, jones, nani, valencia, young, even flethcher whos a great worker. Rooney, Hernandez and Berbatov when he feels like it.
The problem is that or decent midfielers are wingers, our strikers are not in form.
Defence seriously misses Vidic , Can evans fill the spot??
God knows whats going on with the keepers!!!!Open ControlsI'm just getting at the fact that it is a squad that need freshening up, that is all.
I think Fergie is being too stubborn, though he is hard to question lol
It's the feeling from most United fans, a similar frustration being experienced by Arsenal fans dare i say?
I really like what Tottenham and City have done, can see progression there and a bit more drive.
United seem stale at the moment.Open Controls
Great. top 10 000 all year, now i'm already down to 47 000 in the last week and a half...

Thoughts for the wild card (and next season). I suffered badly at the start of the season by not bringing any man utd players due to their terrible run of fixtures. I carried through my well thought out pre-season plan of wildcarding in their players GW12 when their fixtures changed. By which time I was 150 points behind in the league!
Saying that, i still think that my original strategy was correct, it was just a fluke the way man utd came out of the block (this is shown with their current form!). I think my major mistake was not recognising their hot run of form earlier enough. I should really have transferred in a red hot Rooney et al against an Arsenal team in defensive disarray.
For others who did the same as me (I know I wasn't the only one). Would you do the same next season? I ask, because Man utd have a bad run of fixtures AND bad form when i plan to wild card and spurs have a bad run of fixtures BUT good form. So i'm thinking of no man utd and 1-2 spurs in my wild card team.
Thoughts?Open ControlsI think it is a good idea to recognise that United could turn it on against anyone. The could have a bad game against the lowest team in the league then beat one of the best. They are so unpredictable that it is almost not worth considering their fixtures. They are a team which is probably best based on a gut feeling as to whether you think they have hit form or not
Open ControlsYes I think your strategy was correct. As far as I have noticed, there are a couple of teams at the begining of the season that just click! Remember last year Che? Malouda Cole and Drogba the first weeks were having a party.
the thing is to spot that team, or those particular players, and get them in.
Regarding Spurs after WC, I think that I will keep Bale only, due to his form. Vaart is too inconsistent, he always is in his 2nd year at a club. Ade is not excactly a Spurs player, being on loan... so I will have only Bale.
My plan after GW 22 goes like this: I will have cheapie defence (bar Kompany), relatively cheapie mids (bar Silva and Bale) and upfront RVP, Sturridge, Ade. I will have some money in the bank saved so I could use at the first sight.
Also, a question, has anyone noticed that December aproaching, the defenders start scoring more points? At the begining of the season, they hardly kept cs.Open Controls
What are people's thoughts on JEvans? Likely to play this GW vs BOL? If not I may well get rid...
Open Controlsget rid.. he is useless
Open ControlsHe will play. Jones and Rio weren't exactly class against Newcastle. I think they actually miss JEvans
Open ControlsWithout Vidic this defense will struggle all year unless Smalling and Jones start playing well alongside each other. Expect to see more of Valencia at RB for now and Evans will still be a spot starter imo - he's a liability back there.
Open ControlsHe looked good before he was injured. Personally I would prefer Evans, Smalling and Rio at CB. Jones ran away too much leaving Rio alone at the back. Jones is too much of a Luiz to be a CB imo. He is much better at RB or maybe in midfield
Open ControlsRio just doesn't have the legs though. The need a couple of strong players int he middle and if Jones can't hack it there, they'll be in trouble. I think we've expected that def. to come good because it's Man U. but I don't think it will for a while.

3 personal tips to success in FPL :
#1) Patience - When you buy a player keep him for a while. Likely he will return points at some point
#2) Dont take a point hit - Never Ever take a point hit
#3) Good Defense - invest in good defenders .. a good defence is the foundation of a title winning teamOpen ControlsRubbish ๐

Open ControlsIt's 99% luck, that is all.
Open Controlsnot true at all...there is luck involve but not 99%.. a person with no knowledge of futball will not succeed in FPL... there are a lot of other factors too like keeping on top of fixtures, injuries, etc..
Open ControlsWhat I meant was for the people on here, it takes knowledge to an extent and then from there it is luck, there are no 'rules' you need to follow..

Would have no United cover if I do though, which is the main thing stopping me at this stage ๐Open ControlsThat's why I'm stuck between Valencia and Dempsey, with Smalling, Evans etc due back next game he will be back in the midfield and should start the majority of games.
It's mainly to free up cash for Aguero and Richards, so unless you need the cash I'd leave him in there.Open Controls
