League leaders Manchester City travel to the DW Stadium tonight, looking to put breathing space between themselves and their city rivals. The Dugout Discussion chatroom opens in anticipation of the conclusion of Gameweek 21.

Both team sheets have been handed in, and here is how they line-up on this horribly cold Monday night…

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Stam, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, McArthur, McCarthy, Gomez, Crusat, Rodallega, Moses.

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Savic, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Barry, Nasri, Silva, Aguero, Dzeko.

Roberto Martinez continues with Albert Crusat, who manages to shake off a slight back injury to start tonight. James McArthur begins for only the third time in the league this season, replacing Mohamed Diame who is unavailable thanks to the African Cup of Nations.

Manchester City are forced to partner Jolean Lescott and Stefan Savic at centre-back once more, despite a very ropey performance in their defeat to United last weekend. Elsewhere, David Silva is restored to the starting line-up, Sergio Aguero partners Edin Dzeko up front, and Pablo Zabaleta replaces Micah Richards.

      Had one or 2 sparks of genius but was fairly peripheral. He rounded 4 or 5 players in the box and looked like he was about to bury it, only for Dzeko to barge in and kick the ball off the ground. Handicap.

    That game was awful, but worth watching for Al Habsi doing Aguero with a less elegant Cruyff turn.

    And how Maynor got away without getting a red for that handball is beyond me.

      It is strange although I guess Mancini sees no place for De Jong in an attacking team whereas Barry can and does defend and attack.

        Yeah this makes sense. Barry seems to be best at sitting and playing the holding role but can also go forward if needed.

        Very. I'm starting Richards, Senderos and Caulker and if he doesn't play Williamson (ful) or Evans (ars) will come in so it isn't that bad.

            More will be revealed as the week goes by anyway, I'm not particularly worried. If he is a big doubt I'll get Brown instead of Evans and keep Richards on bench but I'm definitely getting him until City confirm he is out.

    Wow I feel I got off really lightly for having no City cover this GW. Sold Silva when it looked like he wouldn't play and he only punished me with an assist, how many BPs you reckon? The bigger relief is Aguero firing a blank. I did mention this a couple of times this week so it's not all hindsight - away form is suspect for him and Yaya missing - not really a captaincy choice.

      I got away with no united cover (had jones but was out) and just silva for city cover. too bad my trinity of spurs let me down vs wolves. no one had an explosive week, with dyer and dunn the only players to score in double digits

    btw yes kompany out is a blow for man city but i personally think no adebayor is out weighs that. defoe and pav leading the line? defo and vdv? big miss

          Yes but his hold up play and pressence is very useful. Savic might struggle more with a tall strong forward upfront.

          as i said before, pre WC, team value was 109.7, after was 108.2,, i was not worried about value, pts more important .it did work this week but next game week ,I am in trouble unless i take a 4 pt hit, which iIkinda had planned to do anyway

      Agreed - Ade contributes more all round than scores nowadays - but Spurs will still have double wing threat in Lennon and Bale. Pav ... aren't there any other options?

      i think someone said on here before his price drops @ a rate of 2.5 times slower than usual. his price freezes then when the flag is removed & he is protected

    Richards not playing tonight meant Dyer comes in as my 3rd sub, along with JEvans and Moses.
    Can't complain with that, also my rivals wildcard flopped.

    Out of interest, to those that have WC'd, how has it gone? I have got to a point where I am reasonably happy with my team, always tempted to make drastic changes but I think maybe I'll just tidy up some fringe players and keep it much the same.

    I have Jags and Adebayor, and neither fit in my prw GW 24 wc plans. 1FT for a defender worth 6.0 or striker worth 9.9 for GW 23. Who would you do a 1 week punt on:

      A lot of love for Gerrard that I don't understand myself. I'd switch him for Silva and upgrade J evans.

      I like Mackie as a punt.

      Keeper combo is debatable. Vorm? Krul?

      Would swap out one of the cheapo defenders for a QPR defender because of there good fixture and manager change.

      Like the fact it is different though.

      Personally, I don't like Mata, Gerrard, Given, Caulker or Mackie.

      Mata: Ridiculously over-expensive in a poor Chelsea side.

      Gerrard: Has yet to prove himself. I know he's in a lot of teams on here, but when there's Silva for the same price, too risky imo.

      Given: Aston Villa don't keep much cleanies. Get Krul.

      Caulker: Don't see a guaranteed cleanie for SWA in the next 8 weeks anyway.

      Mackie: Well that's just ridiculous!
