League leaders Manchester City travel to the DW Stadium tonight, looking to put breathing space between themselves and their city rivals. The Dugout Discussion chatroom opens in anticipation of the conclusion of Gameweek 21.

Both team sheets have been handed in, and here is how they line-up on this horribly cold Monday night…

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Stam, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, McArthur, McCarthy, Gomez, Crusat, Rodallega, Moses.

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Savic, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Barry, Nasri, Silva, Aguero, Dzeko.

Roberto Martinez continues with Albert Crusat, who manages to shake off a slight back injury to start tonight. James McArthur begins for only the third time in the league this season, replacing Mohamed Diame who is unavailable thanks to the African Cup of Nations.

Manchester City are forced to partner Jolean Lescott and Stefan Savic at centre-back once more, despite a very ropey performance in their defeat to United last weekend. Elsewhere, David Silva is restored to the starting line-up, Sergio Aguero partners Edin Dzeko up front, and Pablo Zabaleta replaces Micah Richards.

              I'd wait on Cahill until you're sure he starts every week. Walters & Dyer rotate well only until GW 28, so you might want to look at that down the track given Walters away form?

      hard to say without seeing rest of team but dempsey, mata, sessegnon, valencia are some options. plenty more options if only a 1 or 2 week punt.

        well i'm already benching adebayor against city, and i think i've spurs overkill at mo,
        they have liverpool, arsenal, newcastle and united after wigan so i honestly dont see too many cleanies,

          I agree I have too missed a trick with Ryan, but if I had BAE, I'd keep him till after GW23, then get rid. Surely Newcastle away to Fulham doesn't seem a wise move?

          Although I've argued you keep BAE for Wigan, I'd say the opposite for Adebayor, he's awful and clogging an important position in your team.

    Quite a strange GW.

    I only dropped from last night a few 100 places, yet my GW score went down about 500,000 places.

    Looks like a lot of the poorer ranked players scored the highest points overall.

    Got to love FPL.

      Everyone's not dumping Silva. He already has 1000+ NTI today. Before yesterday he was sold because of him being a doubt. Though, some people are too impatient with him not being able to score double figures too much. Still, in the long run he'll outscore plenty other with his 6,5,6 scores.

    plan on doing Skrtel > Kompany in GW 24 when liverppols fixtures toughen up, and Santon > Shotton GW 25 when Newcastles fixtures toughen up. Any major problems with doubling up on Liverpool and Newcastle at the back for the next 3 weeks? Thinking I mightn't play Evans much over the next few weeks as utd have some tough fixtures..

    i got a team in mind that includes Walters but depending on rises/drops i may come up .1 short.

    Anyone care to offer their thoughts on Etherington as a substitute for Walters in this situation? He's averaged just .1 ppg less than walters for the season. scored 2 goals against my spurs last month. to be fair his only 2 goals on the campaign.

      There is usually room for manouver in your defence. Naylor -> Caulker Senderos --> Kelly Shawcross --> Shotton. Simpson --> Williamson.

      any of those an option to be able to afford walters?

        nope. everything else is finally frozen and set. have caulker and kelly. not downgrading raylor. not yet. etherington has been pretty consistent the two years ive been playing this game. never one to cause a kneejerk, seem like the kind of player no one likes to mention.

          Get sessengnon, ride the price rises, then switch to walters after Man U game and S'land's two games at gome to Swansea/Norwich

              I´m thinking his health can be a little shaky at times. But I would rate him as the number 1 or 2 point getter (behind Crouch or especially Walters...but most likey Walters) in the weeks to come if he can stay fit.
