Roberto Mancini welcomes back Micah Richards and Mario Balotelli for City, while Ledley King could make a surprise return for opponents Tottenham. Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are back for United, though Mikel Arteta is ruled out for Arsenal ahead of Sunday’s showdown.

Wes Brown and Titus Bramble could return for Sunderland. David Moyes is without a host of first-team players. There’s better news for Mick McCarthy who welcomes back Roger Johnson, Kevin Foley, David Edwards and Matt Jarvis.

    Rightly or wrongly, I wildcarded this week and now have this as my squad:

    Vorm, Ruddy
    Simpson, Skrtel, Cahill, Assou-Ekotto, Caulker
    Sessegnon, Bale, Silva, Walters, Ferguson
    Rooney, Fletcher, Van Persie

    Who would you captain out of that lot? I'm tempted by Fletcher but, equally, I think Van Persie could do a number on Man Utd this week. I dunno.

    Would you make any further transfers? I still have 2.5 in the bank and, obviously, unlimited transfers. I know some will say get rid of Ferguson but I'm working on the theory that I'm very rarely ever going to need my third sub, so it frees up cash for elsewhere, should I need it. Does Krul rotate well with Vorm?

      Why not get someone cheap like Surman who at least plays? If the weather turns bad you may yet need a third sub.

        Don't really see the appeal, his conversion rate is brilliant but I don't think his current scoring is sustainable playing for Wolves.

    could do dempsey>silva by downgrading vermalen?

    torres is a 2-3 week punt, can change to rooney at a later date by downgrading verm, or change to sturridge and invest cash in mid field

      I've had a similar dilemma and been back and forth. I think McClean will have a better time at home against swans than Dempsey will have at home against Newcastle. I'm giving Studge the armband this week because, as someone here said, "Norwich leak slutty goals".

    But worried about odem starting with long fit

    Seriously now, is anyone on wildcard having a punt on Torres for two weeks? Easy to sell him for Aguero in two weeks if he backfires, it's not THAT likely you'll be missing out on a massive Aguero score in two weeks and you probably wouldn't captain him.
