The fixtures have had a good frisking and, ahead of Gameweek 23, our Watchlist rankings have been updated accordingly alongside this new data. Our mid-term choices over the next run of games can be found on your right hand toolbar – follow through for a quick round-up of the notable movers and shakers…

Goalkeepers

Baby steps are taken by the men between the sticks. Strong forthcoming fixtures promoted Joe Hart (money to spare) and Paddy Kenny (on a budget) to second and third place behind Tim Krul – we’re putting that five goal concession down as an aberration.

Following five starts in Manchester United’s last six Premier League fixtures, it’s hard to look beyond Anders Lindegaard given his tantalisingly low price. While the rotation fears ease in the United goal, they’ve escalated down at the Britannia. Thomas Sorensen drops in our rankings, below his Old Trafford compatriot, with a return for Asmir Begovic in the Stoke goal looking a very real possibility following Saturday’s events against West Brom.

Defenders

Following the completion of his four-match suspension, Vincent Kompany will return to the Man City fold next gameweek and finds himself back on top of the rankings without a moment’s hesitation. His upcoming schedule, coupled with greater starting role security, has him usurp the incumbent Micah Richards from our chart.

Goal threat from the back pushes Phil Bardsley up the rankings, as Sunderland’s rejuvenated defence becomes an investment prospect. The triumvirate of Jonny Evans, Ciaran Clark and Anton Ferdinand also make measured gains to offer a variety of choice at the cheaper end of the scale.

The tried and tested -and heavily owned- group of Ryan Taylor, Jose Enrique and Kyle Walker make the most noticeable of drops with rotation, form and fixtures conspiring to trigger a decline in their ranking.

Midfielders

Our first choice midfielders look hard to dislodge with each of Gareth Bale, Clint Dempsey, David Silva and Stephane Sessegnon battling and shuffling for positon in the top four right now. Antonio Valencia has returned to form to overshadow Nani – if any player will threaten that upper bracket monopoly any time soon then it’s likely to be the Ecuadorian.

James McClean continues to rise with form that belies his price tag, with Hatem Ben Arfa going a few steps better after his splash in an otherwise unsuccessful weekend for Newcastle.

Previous stalwarts, Rafael Van Der Vaart and Scott Sinclair, continue to slip down the rankings, with a heavy reliance on penalties, coupled with under performance from open play. The fixture list isn’t kind to either player over the coming weeks, while team-mates offer alternatives with Bale irresistible and Joe Allen and Gylfi Siggurdsson continuing to impresss.

Fordwards

Robin Van Persie and Sergio Aguero remain understandably firm at the top of the charts. Nipping at their heels, however, is Bobby Zamora, fresh from last week’s Watchlist Article and a barnstorming performance against the Magpies. Fixtures remain in his favour over the month ahead – although Dempsey’s popularity will surely dent his chances of investment.

Daniel Sturridge and Danny Graham take slight dips due to stuttering form and testing fixtures respectively, while Danny Welbeck’s consistent returns for just 6.6, has him jump into the middle of the pack as rotatation fears ease a little. Aston Villa strikers Darren Bent and Robbie Keane also rise due to their impressive form, while Hugo Rodallega sneaks in as a consideration.

Our subscribing members will soon be treated to a “Versus” article from Sir Paulos, which goes some way to explain Edin Dzeko’s return to favour – one Premier League goal since October really doesn’t tell the full story.

All five of my defenders have away games this week, which three players do I start out of:

    Richards (MCI) @ EVE
    Cahill (CHE) @ SWA
    Enrique (LIV) @ WOL
    Simpson (NEW) @ BLA
    Shotton (STO) @ MUN

At the moment I've got Cahill, Richards and Enrique pencilled in.

Richards, Enrique and Cahill I'd say and hope Cahill doesn't make a sub appearance.

I still dont like Dyer.. May be Dyer> Surman,Buzsaky or Mcclean as 5th mid.

Dont double up on Manu defense atleast till GW28.. Get rid of 1 of Lindy/Evans.

Rest of the team is A-OK.

Me neither, but he is cheap and decent t o have on the Bench. McClean is the other one in my thoughts, but that means 2x Sun mids.....

Good point re Man U but they do have some fixture in between eg STO, che LIV and nor that warrant it IMO.

          Dyer> Mcclean

Sess > Walters or Murphy or Dempsey if you got the dough..

Have a look at stoke/ fulham fixtures after gaming 23.. 3 home games in 4..

Or sturridge > Zamora if oyu cant afford fulham cover..

Yeah, i keep changing my mind on that one too! I just feel that Studge is gonna come good again and Zamora won't keep his form for long. Plus having no CHE coverage is maybe a mistake.

well they are not playing good so i think we can get rid of him, i thought that with drogba gone he will have more chances playing in the middle of the attack, but he didnt.

Zamora would be a punt until gw 26 when Ba returns

So People what do you think of my WC defense..

    Vorm/Stockdale(Schwarzer)

    Vermaelen/Richards/Shotton/Simpson/Brown

That gives me Arsenal City Fulham Stoke Swansea Newcastle and Sunderland till GW28 when ill do Brown-Evans.

    Thoughts ???

Verm is the stand-out since he is expensive and Arsenal are inconsitent at the back. Depends on the rest of your squad, but maybe a Spurs Def?

No spurs def after Gw23 so no point keeping BAE just for wigan and wasting a transfer later.

Gibbs and Sagna back by GW23 is big boost too.. + Verms attacking returns a bonus..

I'd get Schwarzer & risk Vorm even if he's still in hospital.

I like Verm as a player & as a differential. But now's not the time IMO. Not when he's playing LB & has Fartesacker at CB.

What goalkeepers are people getting in their GW24 wildcards then? Is Lindegaard first-choice atm? I'm still unsure on Vorm (lolwut!?) because i reckon i've missed out on all his best hauls and i have a gut feeling Swanseas defensive record won't be so great in the second half of the season, and looking for a bit of a differential 'cause everyone in my league has Vorm.

      going with mignolet+kurl

lindy might get rotated IMO, since SAF will use de gea as he bought him for 18m (real money)

He isn't and may even play this weekend in the FA Cup tie against Liverpool but FPL haven't caught up with the latest news yet(which I thought was provided to them by FFS ?)so with his flag still indicating only a 25% chance of him being available for the game against Stoke next week,it's not surprising many are selling him,but he can't drop more than 0.1 in one day and if he does play this weekend many of those same sellers will buy him back,as they've got until Tuesday evening do so,especially those using their WC's.
