The paint may still be drying on the Gameweek 23 bonus points, yet, with another set of fixtures looming, we’re already looking ahead. As always, we have altered and amended our Watchlist with a mini-update – the results follow and can be found in your sidebar to the right…

Defenders

Firstly, some notable players have finally fallen off the radar. The likes of Leighton Baines, Jose Enrique and Benoit Assou-Ekotto have enjoyed decent returns in recnet Gameweeks but their respective schedules dent the potential from this point on.

The switchover in terms of fixtures also sees some of the less fashionable options make gains on our charts. Taye Taiwo made an impression on Fantasy managers with an assist in his first QPR appearance last night. Wigan’s Maynor Figueroa also enjoys a climb as the struggling Latics look to make the most of their forthcoming run of opponents – a spell that will surely decide their Premier League fate. Angel Rangel and Robert Huth gain places – the Stoke centre-back is now established in our top five.

Midfielders

In midfield, things stay fairly static as the leading candidates continue to monopolise their positions at the top of the charts. If it was purely a fixture-based game, then Gareth Bale would no doubt be toppled but the Welshman remains untouchable. Is “must have” perhaps a step too far?

Scout favourite Victor Moses has made a leap, due to Wigan’s favourable turn on the fixture front. Swansea’s new boy Gylfi Sigurdsson continues a slow climb up the charts behind team-mate Scott Sinclair, and Joey Barton profits from strong fixtures, with QPR’s new strikers offering him a sharper cutting edge up front to convert the supply from midfield.

Slipping down to make room for the aforementioned midfielders are Steven Gerrard, Juan Mata and Rafael Van Der Vaart. A trio of costly Fantasy options with fixtures and form that provide little incentive for Fantasy investment.

Forwards

The attack is even more settled, with strikers picking themselves in recent weeks. Bobby Zamora has moved across London but remains highly placed, with QPR’s upcoming fixtures looking even more appealing than those of his former club Fulham. Sergio Aguero may have struggled of late but he holds firm in second, with team-mate Edin Dzeko enjoying a climb on the back of City’s three attractive home games in the next four.

Demba Ba’s return from the African Cup of Nations pushes him back up the rankings. The arrival of countryman Papiss Demba Cisse may well inspire the Magpies hit man to carry on where he left off at the end of 2011. Similar to City, Newcastle have a strong run of home fixtures, with Villa, Wolves and Sunderland all rolling up to the Sports Direct Arena in the next four Gameweeks. If Ba looks sharp against Villa, he could even threaten the top two in our rankings.

United pairing Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck suffer declines as fixtures toughen up and rotation beckons for the latter. Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge continues to slowly slide as his form wavers, while Steven Fletcher and Danny Graham also tumble in the cheap seats.

Emmanuel Adebayor has also finally fallen from grace with his dry spell now compounded by stiff fixtures. Meanwhile, our main new entries this week come in the form of Sunderland’s Frazier Campbell and West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie who both feature at the lower end of our charts to challenge Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega as long-shot differentials.

Slightly important fratboy ,i just used sessegnon as an example ,its ba ive got my eyes on ,i need him to stay at 7.3 or cant afford him ,its just that if hes risen by 12,600 by 18.00 pm the odds are there maybe another 3or 4k transfers in on top of that meaning that theres a chance that he may rise tonight...

That's what I was thinking Chris. I actually like WB's backline, but Swansea have gone from mediocre to great this season. I'm not banking on a cleansheet from either, so I guess it's a great long-term investment yes?

Think it's most likely that Ba will start alongside Best/Shola with Cisse on the bench. He won't have trained at all with the team until this week and can't see Pardew disrupting the side by bringing Cisse in like that.

hmm, will wait to see what he says, currently I have Djibril Cisse, and really not sure that a Newcastle striker is a better bet than a QPR one for next 2 to 3 weeks. Also will no Cabaye have a negative effect on Ba?

I'm debating that too, edging towards Ba over Zamora atm.

Cabaye's our best midfielder (maybe even best player) so missing him will definitely impact on our team, and probs lead to less chances for Ba. Then again, Ba could still score a load of goals and points without him in the side.

If money is a problem, keep McClean and go Sess > Sigurdsson. Sigy hasn't played a full 90 yet, but he is averaging 4.0 in 3 games (small sample size no doubt). Once he plays the full 90, I expect him to be a reliable option for Swansea.

On the other hand Im not too sure if Ba will get the same form back. Might leave it and see what hapens this week.

Was looking at who is nost likely to keep a clean sheet currently QPR is at 8/5 v Wolves, Newcastle is at 13/8 v Villa.
In other words the bookies think that QPR have a slightly better chance of getting a clean sheet then Newcastle....
I have Taiwo and Simpson in the wild-card at the moment.
It's between Taiwo and Sessegnon for first sub...
I basically think wolves are shi*e and this Taiwo guy is supposed to be a dead ball expert.

3 for me atm, I have Cisse over Zamora right now, but toss a coin. I may lose Evans to a cheaper option now (maybe get Williamson and double on Newc) and get Ba later, or I may go cheaper as he would leave me only 7.3 to get Ba.

I am very tempted by a Krul/Simpson double. Could then get Shawcross over Huth. I would then shift a defender to fund Zamora/Cisse--->Ba for GW26.

I'd monitor Rooney's fitness. Sturridge is out of form, but at least plays at home. If Rooney isn't fit for CHE game, you can as well try this: Rooney - Ba, and next week Sturridge - Aguero.

Thoughts on my squad for this week?

    Sorenson

    Kompany Huth Simpson

    Mignolet Sess BAE Kelly.

Should i bench Ba Sess or Dempsey?

Looking for advice on who to bench, currently at:
    Krul
    JEvans - Richards - Huth
    Silva - Dempsey - Walters - Bale
    Aguero - RVP - Ba

Subs: Mignolet / Sessegnon, Caulker, Kelly

    My doubts:
    1) I'm playing fixtures over form picking Walters instead of Sessegnon
    2) I know Fulham have played quite well against TOP4 and Dempsey's on form, but then again I'll be stuck having 4 players in one game (diversification usually proves to be the key)
    3) Ba's form atm is a question mark.

Maybe I should stick to 5 in the midfield and bench Ba for now?

Just need reassurance. Sorry for being slow it's been a long day. I am on wild card. I currently have sess but don't want him and he should rise tomorrow which will make me 0.1 , I want Dempsey but not ideally till next week. Dempsey is going up tonight. If I keep sess and make the 0.1 it will cancel out the extra 0.1 I will have to pay to get Dempsey after sat, therefore I won't lose out and will be able to get Dempsey after he plays city away. Thanks in advance

Its Hard to let go of Mata as I go for Chelsea but i'll think about it
as Dempsey has a good run

Can someone please kidknap rickie Lambert for 4 months. He is stinking up a rather bold bid of mine to turn 50 cent into a tidy sum of 1700. Have david Nugent, gary hooper, jordan rhodes and some guy called messi to be top scorers in their respective leagues. The latter 3 look very likely but atm whilst nugent is scoring respectfully, lambert is lording it.

Lambert has slowed down a little bit recently so that should help.

I am in 50k, my WC team:

    Krul/Vorm
    Simpson, BAE, Enrique, Richards, Shawcross
    Sess, McClean, Walters, Sinclair, Bale
    Ba, Aguero, RVP

    0.1 left
One doubt: McClean out, Reo Coker or Johnson (Nor) in
    Is this reasonable choice?

What is this new trend of putting your rank with your rmt?

I'm 10 good captains' choices of being top 1k.

      It'll never happen though!

My rank still sucks. Will probably peak GW38.

dont think so, Simpson and Shawcross are cheap enough. Have three top forwards, thats the way how to make points, Silva is too expensive and Dempsey is just short-time thing.
