Gameweek 24 continues with two games on show today, and the Dugout Discussion is here to cover them both. We start at The Sports Direct Arena, where Newcastle United welcome back their star striker, Demba Ba, to face Aston Villa. After that, it’s down to Stamford Bridge where the champions, Manchester United, will be looking to close the gap on their City rivals by beating Chelsea. The team sheets for our first game are in, and are as follows…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon, Ryan Taylor, Guthrie, Perch, Gutierrez, Ba, Best.

Villa XI: Given, Hutton, Cuellar, Dunne, Warnock, Ireland, Petrov, Clark, N’Zogbia, Keane, Bent.

As already alluded to, the headline news is that Demba Ba is back for the Magpies and starts. His fellow countryman and new signing, Papiss Demba Cisse, features from the bench.

There’s no surprises in the line-up for the away team, with loan-signing Robbie Keane partnering in-form Darren Bent upfront. Gabriel Agbonlahor misses out through injury, so Charles N’Zogbia continues on the left.

Follow all the action in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which will remain open until the final whistle goes at Stamford Bridge, and can be accessed right here.

You select 11 players who all have a good chance of scoring well in the games you choose them to play in. Valencia was one of those players.

Doesn't really say anything though, given how he probably referees United more often than any other referee - as he's supposedly the best around.

And you'd expect the better teams to be awarded more penalties.

Anyway, it's not as if we need evidence to support the point you're making. It's clear for everyone to see already.

Fair enough., but United scored 3 after he was taken off. Hernandez bagged the leveler after replacing Young, and Young would be a bench player at best with a healthy Nani in the side.

It's amazing that someone like Ashley Young is a bench player, in this stage of his career and with Euros coming up.

So the other version of FOOTBALL is in five and one half hours and the pre-game shows have been on already for almost two hours. So anyone connected with football, celebrities, replays, lead ups, lame jokes, analysis will go on fully TWICE as long as the real game. We have our priorities.

Looking purely at the stats, Webb does indeed give more penalties than other's to united but also dishes out more red cards and yellow cards, also those penalties need not necessarily unfair. here's a good read for anyone saying webb is 'biased' when the stats say he is clearly not.

This is the point. As a neutral, I believe Webb favours United with his decisions and Man U get more than their share of dodgy calls from refs in general. I thought this was widely accepted, even from United supporters.

Are you sure? This stat says that Webb is twice as likely to give Man Utd a penalty than Chelsea. Udit's stats say that Webb is twice as likely to give Man Utd a penalty than any other referee - and half as likely to give Man Utd's opponents a penalty than any other referee. Unless I'm reading it wrongly, that's pretty damning evidence. Or you could use these stats to say that all other referees are biased against Man Utd, I suppose...

And, to be totally honest, I have no bias one way or the other.
