With the Paddy Paddy Cup V sewn up last week by sleepingmaster, we now turn our attention to it’s sister competition, the Members Paddy Power Cup II. Over 900 Fantasy Football Scout members signed up, with hopes of qualifying for the first round of 512. As expected, the standard was very high, and the qualifying mark was set at a lofty 82 points for Gameweek 24.

That put 494 in the hat for round one, and forced 41 fantasy managers to rely on their overall rank to earn one of the remaining 17 spots. The list of all qualifiers can be viewed right here.

On to the first round draw then, which has been made and can be viewed right here. All 256 fixtures will be played over the upcoming Gameweek 25, and the result will follow shortly afterwards.

Our reigning champ, Kippax Kikkers (formerly Kippax Kolggers), is up against leekota, as he looks to defend his title.

Elsewhere, plenty of Scouts (not me) are in the mix – Mark takes on Shimmy, G-G-Granville has drawn Shehzu, Andy will square up to Lucas that is all, it’s Big Dunc Vs. ChrisHighwind, Pure Olivia is up against djembe, Anorak‘s been paired with Primprong, and Jonty will play johnd.

The prize? Well, once again sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

  • Winner – £150 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 worth of free bets. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £20 Amazon Voucher

Remember, to claim a prize you will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 and over to be eligible. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

Finally, if you set up an account and are going to bet with Paddy Power, always gamble responsibly.

Cool FACT: Highest ever score for an individual player in EPL:
    http://thesportboys.wordpress.com/2010/05/14/fantasy-premier-league-end-of-season-review-0910/

    Frank Lampard(2009/10): 284 (22 goals 17 assists)
    C.Ronaldo(2007/08): 283 (31 goals 8 assists)

    RVP(2011/12): 183 (22 goals 8 assists) with 14 games to play.

If he stays healthy, RVP with surely achieve the highest score ever? Thoughts?

he either needs to be priced at 20 mil or removed from the players list next season. He completely throws the fantasy game out of whack!!!

Fuzzy not sure if you played, but if you did, back in 2007-08 season- 2009-10 seasons the only players necessary to obtain a decent EPL score would be:

        Ronaldo(C)
        Lampard
        Gerrard
        Fabregas

+get who you can afford for the rest of your team 😉

for the most part, the yahoo version of the game is vastly inferior, but i do think they do a better job at pricing. If you want RVP, you are starting 10 generally rubbish players. The prices constantly fluctuate so you really have to pay attention to bargains.

I reckon if he keeps pace he will be 14.0 when comes next year, as was Henry when he was with Arsenal back in his prime.

I doubt it - he'd need to maintain his current average points/game ratio to do that, and I'd be amazed if that happened. He'd need 40 goals imo.

Jins, even if RVP only scores 10 more times and averages 9 pts per game, he'll be over 300 total. So think of it this way, if he doesn't score for 2 games, then gets a huge haul of over 20, he will still be averaging the points required to become #1 of all time!!

        RVP FTW

Liverpool had couple of good chances last week, even with Spurs all out defending. Just that Carroll and Suarez wasted them. Ba has much better finish so I guess there may be a good chance of a newcastle goal, esp if they moves forward continuosuly looking for goals

With Kompany looking like he will be back this weekend, looks like I can bench huth for a couple of weeks and avoid a hit. Do we know if Rodellega is likely to play this week? If not, I will get Dave in a week early. Can't afford to have Rodellega not starting if i'm already a man down.

My wife had rodellega is as a filler on her Wild Card as she had exactly 5.9m left for a striker. Planned to downgrade RVP to aguero for two games, and upgrade Rodellega. So he was only ever going to be sat on the bench for a couple of games. She's planning to get in Dave next weekend. So trying to decide if she should do it this week to make sure she can have 11 playing, even though we play spurs away, and she already has demba 1. Does that make sense?

I was thinking earlier that she would need to take a hit, because she had huth out, and doubts over kompany, kelly and rodellega. But now Kompany is expected to play, no need to rush to get huth out.

reading the tea leaves, % chances of these players starting:

Sessegnon (117 minutes on 3 days rest with a knock)
Senderos (apparent injury last week but no updates)
RVP (hint of rest last week, yeah yeah i know, but CL coming midweek)

      Sess 85%
      Senderos 75%
RVP 99% to start and come off early if leading

      IMO

      Nope.

But then the same goes for Ba. I'd have a tenner on Cisse scoring / earning more than Ba, just got better things to do with my FT.

You would start from whatever gameweek the league started.

If you entered the FPL Open, you would have the same points as the Elite 63.

I've been on Dempsey all week. Starting to waiver.

Thinking about Newcastle Villa last weekend and Villa got at Newcastle a lot and only heroics from Krul at times stopped Villa scoring more.

            Leaning more towards Bale now.

City will definitely rest Aguero and the first-choice wingbacks imo. Play AJ/Pizarro with one of Silva/Nasri.

With SAF, we may never know until the squads are out. His second choice teams haven't done well this season. So he may just feature the first-string lineup with 2-3 rested players.

Being expensive isn't an excuse, imo.

At LB, he isn't too much of a goal threat, which of course questions why I got him in the first place. But Utd have better odds of a CS this GW and hence Evans should play ahead of Vermy.
