→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

With a bag full of points from the Scout Picks last gameweek, it was a surprise to see our Paddy Power wallet containing nothing but a used train ticket and a couple of crumpled receipts. Robert Huth’s early red card set the tone, with Sergio Aguero’s goal and a win at 4/5 the only market to come in. With Talent and Watchlist figures Gylfi Sigurdsson and Yakubu Aiyegbeni the main course of this week’s Flutter, it’s sure to be a feeding frenzy of rich returns.

The Yak is back. Whilst serving his three-match ban for a red card against Fulham, Yakubu’s Blackburn have slipped from their manager-saving form, topped off by a trouncing by Arsenal last weekend. Seemingly a talisman for the Kean revival, the sorely-missed striker will be essential to their tactics against visiting QPR on Saturday. Paddy have priced up a goal and a win at 5/2 and a brace at 9/1 . Both are tempting, but £2 on the former opens our account for another game-week.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has been around a bit since his early loan spells at Shrewsbury and Crewe. A 16-goal season for Reading and subsequent sale to Hoffenheim have cultured the 22 year old into a real creative force for the Swansea midfield. A pound at 20/1 for him to score and assist against visiting Norwich is a long price and a bit of a risk, but one worth taking since he performed the same feat against West Brom last week on the road.

Clint Dempsey has been the mainstay for Fantasy line-ups for many seasons now, always commanding a decent performance to Fantasy point conversion. Not a cheap prospect, but neither the lavish cost of Silva or Nani, Dempsey’s price of 8.9 is likely to continue to rise with favourable home and away fixtures coming up. A visit from Stoke may well be one of the tougher clashes of the next few, but Paddy’s offering of 5/2 on a Dempsey goal and a Fulham win is not short on confidence. A £4 stake here should bring home £14; a decent wager considering suspended Robert Huth will only be able to track Dempsey’s runs from the sidelines.

Last week’s ‘Who Will Score the Most’ market turned in a respectable 5 goals, and although our pick Demba Ba was among those on the score sheet, Robin van Persie’s battering of Blackburn left us empty handed. This week Rooney, RVP and Aguero are in the mix, but perhaps facing off against tougher competition. Aguero at 15/8 is the longest price of the trio as City travel to Villa, but with only a couple of quid left from our tenner bank roll, it might be a risk worth taking.

Money Back Special

All eyes will be on Old Trafford for the early Gameweek 25 kick-off between Man United and Liverpool tomorrow lunchtime. No surprise, then, to see Paddy focus on this one for this week’s Money Back Special. If Luis Suarez scores a goal at any point in the match, Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles. Paddy have also turned their attentions to this weekend’s Six Nations Rugby. If a number 11 scores the first try in the Italy v England, France v Ireland or Wales v Scotland clashes, Paddy Power will refund all losing try scorer bets on that match.

Thanks for the rating. Prob about right.

Except I know Moses will do something amazing after his stupid selfish pranks last time out, Valencia will play more up front than he wouldve had Nanny been fit, Siggy will explode, and I've captained the HANDBAG, on the basis that Bale (the only other viable armband this GW imo) can't score points against the toon. Home or away.

        Good luck this week 🙂

bench order looks good. unsure about mcclean over sess but I recon you have a good reason.

for captain it's another one of those weeks with no clear good choice. personally leaning towards rvp cuz I just have a feeling he will do well despite most not really believing in him this week.... might end up switching it to one of aguero, bale or dempsey right before the deadline (in that order)

        Yak is back from suspension.
Whether he starts(scoring goals) from where he left is not known.
Both have good fixtures but QPR's fixture is better and Zamora is in good form.
I'd bring Zamora and if Yak regains his form, you can bring him next week or so.

PERSONAL VERDICT ON THE SCOUT PICKS

Schwarzer - 6/10 - like the previous bigging up of Riise, seems based on too much faith in Fulham CS and defensive form; they simply cannot be relied upon for the 4 points
Richards - 9/10 - one of the picks of the week; virtually plays as a right winger against lesser opposition, which Villa definitely are
Assou-Ekotto - 6/10 - again, like Riise, without likely CS it seems risky to rely on an assist from a defender; expect Newcastle to score
Rangel - 6/10 - Yet again based on recent performances you may be relying on an assist not a CS; Norwich have few problems scoring

Sessegnon - 6/10 - Played 120 mins with an injury scare just 3 days ago; playing against a full-strength Arsenal defence which while not best in the league should keep the score down; certainly better fixtures to be had
Sigurdsson - 9/10 - Spotted and endorsed by FFS from the beginning; a brilliant budget pick punching right up there with the best midfielders at the minute; set piece monopoly makes him very dangerous; seriously regret overlooking him now
Bale - 8/10 - At home and proven FPL gold this year; difficult fixture against one of the stronger defences in the league; was uncharacteristically subdued against Pool
Dempsey - 9/10 - Again endorsed by FFS from an early stage; very realistic captaincy choice; Fulham in decent scoring form at home; Stoke in poor conceding form away; now side's prime goal threat without Zamora

Yakubu - 8/10 - Back from suspension against a porous QPR defence; incredible value with explosiveness no budget striker can match
van Persie - 7/10 - Arsenal's prime goal threat; offensively one of the hardest fixtures in the league away to a mean MON defence that's already comfortably kept City and big-scoring Swansea out; could face similar returns to Sessegnon
Fletcher - 6/10 - home to an unimpressive Brom side; decent consistent scoring record this season but never exploded; better away scoring record

Dzeko - 8/10 - Definitely goals to be had away to a leaky Villa side; not on penalties; good away scoring record
Silva - 8/10 - Once again City should flow through him with the only risk being that they over-rely on him; consistent scorer in a good fixture in a difficult GW
Ba - 7/10 - Not an ideal fixture but he can score against anyone
Valencia - 7/10 - Playing one of the best defences in the league but United's greatest midfield threat at the minute; Nani being out makes him even more so; could well be involved in a goal
Kompany - 8/10 - Good CS chance; less so for attacking points
Evans - 7/10 - Could be a tight game and with Pool's difficulties attacking they could struggle to score; caution though as they do well against the top six
Kelly - 7/10 - Basically comes down to how much you trust the Fulham CS at home...
Vorm - 7/10 - Swansea home CS record has deteriorated but still a great keeper with a good fixture

    krul

    evans kelly clichy

    bale(c) dempsey valencia silva

    ba rvp kun

    mig sessegnon simpson shotton

    Valencia over Sess
    Krul over Mig

Top of my league with my mate trailing by 60pts, no doubt he will be playing Sess and Krul. Should I cover him off with Sess as well or stick with Valencia?

Valencia because I think he'll do well vs pool, mignolet because krul won't get a CS but there's a slight possibility Sun will, arsenal are pretty erratic [0-0 vs bolton] so you may strike lucky there.

Wouldn't let his choices affect your chances of selecting the best possible players from your squad this week. Val over Sess yes, but would marginally take Mig over Krul - Sunderland are not just tight defensively but against a rather wasteful team...

Honestly Aguerolish, I had it on him all week until 3 hours ago. This is why:

Bale's only scored single digit scores in his last 8 home games

Aguero has failed to hit double digits away from home this season.

It really worries me as well that Aguero comes off early in games if they are winning, which i'm assuming they will be...

I posted some facts on last page if you want to take a look 😉

when tough weeks such as this come along - average out the captain choice. Maybee not try and guess who will outscore who this week, but over next 2 weeks and captain that player for both. By this method, it becomes easy. Captain aguero these 2 weeks because he could score big in both. thats how I chose RVP. Captained him lastweek and this week. Dont change a losing team, dont change a losing captain.

my rank is right where it normally is at this juncture. My biggest fantasy downfall is that I cant resist big transfer weeks. I have taken a 16 point hit and many other hits. Not an excuse, just admitting that I am powerless over my addiction. I also tend to try and grab differentials way too early. I rode the HBA train before it even was contracted. I also rode the Rolls Royston train too long. My latest is O'hara probably too soon after injury. Whatevs man, I speak my mind and dont hide my team. There are good analysts and there are good traders. A good analyst doesnt necessarily make you a good trader. I can see the moves pretty early but am trigger happy.

this game gets me crazy. Last week i had a great start with my wildcard team with rvp and walcott. Thought it would be my first huge week. then came a cisse red, then a huth red. I also had taiwo and sorensen. My wife asked what was wrong and i told her to feck off. She walked out. I have spent all week trying to make up for it, only to know that if she bothers me tomorrow i will probably be unable to control myself once again. I really want the big fantasy dick as well. Is there some kind of arabian jelq for ff?

Oh my sweet days... ouch with the wife, definite "perspective" moment... I got too much into FPL this year and definitely took too many liberties with the GF, in retrospect some of my phone checking and time stealing was a it out of hand.

Also regretting looking up "jelq" LMAO.

Here's how I cope with FPL:
I repeat to myself that WATCHING THE GAME WON'T CHANGE ANYTHING.
I stop asking what-if questions. Never ask them. Make it a rule, otherwise you'll go mad.

        Mignolet (krul)
        richards, bae, kelly (simpson, hall)
        bale, demps(c), valencia, mclean (adam)
        rvp, aguero, morison

Silva is an obvious omission from your team but since you have Aguero you can probably go without. I would look to raise the funds to get Ba in for Morison. Adam to Sess might be the answer but you might need more money. Siggy is another option.

10/11 of your starting players are the same as mine so I like it.

outta curiosity: which one isn't the same?
and gahh I think its the best way to play them its just so hard benching sess and enrique... especially because I benched sess a couple weeks ago and it burned me and last week benching enrique wouldda knocked me out of the fantasy cup if he hadn't been injured...

        thoughts on captain choice though?

I have Mata instead of Siggy though I think I'd rather have Siggy this week. Agree with your bench.

I'm going Bale(c), Dempsey vice. Not a fan of RVP(c) this week but considering his mega haul last time out I could be very wrong.

oh gotcha. personally not too big a fan of mata for fpl. did walters to siggy this week so hoping it works out
            alright thanks

yeah idk... its a tough one this week. his mega haul last week plus the fact I just have a good feeling about him this week AND the fact that my cup opponent has captained him every week and I would be pissed to miss out if he had another big haul... are making me lean towards him

    Team this week:

    Krul
    Evans, Enrique, Kompany
    Dempsey(vc), Valencia, Silva, Bale(c)
    Aguero, Ba, VP

    Subs: Lindegaard, McClean, Senderos, Simpson

    1 free & 0.9m in the bank

    Thinking either

a). Senderos -> Kelly and drop Enrique
    b). Enrique -> BAE

and torn between playing Valencia or McClean? Thoughts

I got rid of Enrique last week. Kelly's a great buy for 3.9.

      I'd play Tony V.

Sess, I'd say. Ba has scored even in tough games. (So has Sess, I guess, but he could well be tired.) Tough one though, I'm playing both.
