Following on from our assessment of those defenders presenting the strongest potential for goals, we now switch attention to look at those rearguard members contributing successful passes, crosses and creating goalscoring opportunities.

Using Opta data and our own ICT scores, we run the rule of the season standout performers – discuss the dominance of one key figure and examine those players who offer alternatives and possible routes for investment for the season climax.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Are you implying its better to have Rooney over RVP 😉 These are interesting stats but it also shows how the goals are spread amongst the various scorers for each team. RVP is by far and away the chief goal scorer of Arsenal

I don't get that though, his Sunderland job was just a temp job for about 13 games this season to give Newcastle a head start before we got MON in. (It's actually a fact that he was manager for 13 games before getting the sack!)

Top seed in Group I and clear favourite for top spot come the end of the group stages goes to JKisthe1, with only a gameweek 5 low of an overall placing out of the top 100 000 all season JK has a consistency many fellow posters would envy. A gameweek 25 transfer of Valencia to Sigurdsson was clearly well timed and repairs some of the luck lost with cisse's recent sending off and subsequent ban and points to a shrewd manager with an eye for a bargain and more pertinent to other Group I managers, an eye on the future with certain asperations of a top 10000 finish.

More miss than hit which sums up the < 5 ppg. Too pricey for my liking for those returns. However, given that every Tom, Dick and Doosra has the B S V S D midpark and the BRA front 3, it is time to start looking at diffs like Mata.

ENR is organizing two competitions - Champions league and europa where each team who entered is assigned a real team in the real competitions like Madrid, Barca etc and then it's classical H2H with a few quirks. It's really caught on big here.

I'm intrigued by the Balotelli option, it's says on this site he's likely to start against Blackburn, He could be a huge differential if he was to steal Aguero's moment. But to be honest I don't know why you would take a 4 point hit to get a different city striker!! Nani could be a good shout, Siggy Stoke/Wigan away next two games, both are vulnerable defensively...

Oh we all do, but it would be terrible if he missed out again. He was ruled out of UEFA CL's eligibility, then he thought he would automatically qualify for the europa, and then he lost out to Impressive Tackle. Infact it will his 4th shot to get a team.

            Point well taken, Mr Manager.

But maybe it's destiny after all - we'd like to see a spark from HappyAnkit that he's interested to fight for his place in the Cup. At the same time, give this chance to other young bright budding talented managers out there to win this golden chance (Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, anyone?) 😉

More drama at the Europa - one resignation followed by the golden handshake, and now, two managers given the sack. And the games haven't even begun yet. O boy!

I rate Sess. much over McC in terms of consistency too. Anyway, Sunderland fixtures will be more difficult soon. It could be a good strategy to reduce investment by downgrading Sess too.

    Need differentials now.

Scholes may be worth a shout in MF?

City have got 4 home games in the next 6 though, so Kun appears to be fairly essential though, no?

If it wasn't for Valencia injury I'd probably have done Silva to Yaya to free up cash for Aguero. Wish I'd paid the extra for Kun over Dzeko on my last WC now.

Ah well, this season's over for me anyway, I make take a 12 pointer this GW.

I think this could be a season defining decision. If looking to get Rooney in gwk28 then this is the chance to build up some reserves in the bank. If that's the plan I'd go for Moses/ McLean/ dyer/ pilks. But if not then the best bets are probably nani, mata or my personal favourite yaya.
I'm assuming you already have demp , sess , bale, silva. If not one of them.

I think the season defining moment is whether people get rid of RVP and Silva now or hold on to them.

I reckon both may well start tailing off in production now. If I had a WC today I'm telling you straight that Silva goes for Yaya. I'd probably offload RVP for Rooney too despite the price loss.

Arsenal look like a team in disarray now and I wonder if RVP has already decided that its time he took his considerable talents somewhere where he can actually, you know, win trophies?

Yaya just looks like he's going to kick on in this second half of the season now. Silva has pretty much been a disappointment lately. One double digit score in the last 11 GW's pretty much doesn't justify his heft price tag in my opinion.

Let's put it this way, people that got rid of him with their winter wildcards are not exactly weeping and gnashing their teeth now regretting that decision, are they!

IMO Rooney will outscore RVP from here on in.

Arsenal look like a team ready to implode. The word on the street is that the players are already dissatisfied with Wenger now (apparently they are none too impressed with his training methods as they don't spend enough time on defensive work-not like it shows, right?). Them and Chelsea just look like bad bets right now.

Man Utd are a team gearing up to make a push now for the finishing line and win a European trophy.

Man United have been better than Arsenal all season, it's not about United vs Arsenal considering RVP scores no matter how bad we are playing - Rooney doesn't.
Arsenal were shit at this time last season and RVP scored 10 in 13.

But for his spike against a 10 man Blackburn side his recent returns have been fairly pedestrian considering what the likes of Ba and Yakubu have been doing at half or less than half the price.

He's also dependent on the players around him giving him chances and he's surrounded by a lot of dross, frankly.

He's failed to score in 4 of his last 8 games and now faces a run of teams that have a lot of potential to frustrate him further.

Talking about future potential not what he's already done.

I think your team has issues mate, not sure if RVP is even mentally in the mood at the moment. Yesterday he looked fairly lost and frustrated most of the afternoon.

Strikers thrive on confidence and if they don't feel like the players around them or the manager in charge of them are helping their cause..........

Yeah but that is just choosing a small sample, he has been 'in form' for over a year. It's not as though he is streaky with his goals.
But as he said.. 'not what he's already done' surely comes under form as well? On FPL points alone, he is more in form than any other striker.

You think this Arsenal team currently looks in any way, shape or form like its going to put a hurting on Spurs next weekend and then start smashing up Liverpool, Newcastle and a resurgent Everton in the next 4 GW's?

It's like you think Arsenal have been killing off teams all season..?
As I said above, the same things were being said about Arsenal last season and RVP continued to score, it happened at the beginning of the season too.
Sell RVP all you want, but he is the only player in my team that I wouldn't consider selling unless injured.

                See my comments above.

RVP may well score a goal a game, but if Ba and Yakubu are matching that then whats the big deal?

Guys like Rooney and Aguero look like they could well be going on hot streaks now and they have the teams and fixtures to rack up points big style in the next 6 GW's.

Arsenal look like they're going to get frustrated by a lot of those teams in the next 4 games at least.

Its a big decision to make for sure, but sometimes seasons can be turned around or lost from winning positions based on hard decisions like this being made.

I am very seriously considering selling RVP and Silva in the next few weeks.

Ba and Yakubu aren't matching RVP's output regardless. Aguero is over-priced. I was his biggest supporter, but after these two home games he is out, 11M for a player who does sfa away from home is a waste. If it weren't for a few penalties to make their scores look pretty over the last 15+ weeks neither Aguero or Rooney have been anywhere near RVP and I don't see why that would change now. Aguero can't do it away and Rooney goes missing against easier opposition.
Sell him then, go with your gut.

Aguero has 4 of his next 6 games at home so if he likes home cooking surely you'd want to keep him for that rather profitable stretch?

As an RVP owner my concern, which is genuine, is that I'm not sure that RVP is going to be as productive over the rest of the season as he has been up til now.

I've already mentioned the factors that I think influence this and they are all very real concerns.

It's easy to think of concerns for every single striker..
After the next 2, Aguero has 2 in 4 home games, which isn't as promising.

        No.

Keep Aguero for next 2 weeks at least and consider he has 4 of his next 6 games at home, which is where he does his damage.

To me he's a better keeper than RVP right now.

Surprised so many on here think Man Utd will win the league. I'm a Man Utd fan so hope you are all right but we definitely have the slightly harder run-in (with trips to Etihad, WHL being more difficult than City's trip to the Emirates and hosting Chelsea - two teams who look in trouble).

Yaya is back too which I think is a big factor and City definitely have more depth in their squad.

I think the title race will literally be decided by the City v Utd game. Winner takes all

    GW 26

    Krul
    Range Richards Santon
    Silva Bale Dempsey Beausejour
Van Persie Aguero (VC) Rooney (C)

    (Mignolet, Sigurdsson, Senderos, Jose Enrique)

Not sure whether to stick with Beau over Siggy? Beau at home against a stuttering Villa, and only bought him in this week. Siggy away against a likely tired Stoke.

Then injuries allowing GW 28 Rangel - Evans. GW 29 Aguerro - Ba/Cisse. GW30 Senderos - Baines. Good plan???

I don want to sell him but am thinking whether i should bench him...

I don know who to really bench this week because i have a feeling Robbie Keane may score at least a Brace before he leaves.

      Nani --- Demsey --- Silva --- Sessegnon --- Bale

      --------- Keane -- Ba -- RVP -------------------------------

I may have to bench RVP, but selling, am not sure. Maybe after QPR on 31 March.
