Rafael Van der Vaart looks set to return to the Spurs starting lineup, after Harry Redknapp confirmed that he has trained all week ahead of the derby showdown with Arsenal.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoît Assou-Ekotto should also shake off respective problems, whilst Luka Modric looks likely to recover from the flu. Their counterparts could well have a reinforced backline with Laurent Koscielny and Kieran Gibbs potentially recovering; a decision will be made on the pair tomorrow.

Ryan Taylor has recovered from an ankle injury for Newcastle as they take on Wolves – whose leading scorer Steven Fletcher is a doubt with a virus. Elsewhere, Junior Hoilett is fit for Blackburn, whilst reports suggest that Tom Cleverely may have suffered an ankle injury during Manchester United’s game with Ajax.

        I much prefer the defending in this one over the old one. I found it a bit daft that all you had to do before was hold down the tackle button until you got the ball.

    Right time to get a band wagon rolling,

    Papiss Cisse seems to be a player very much over looked in terms of ownership he is at only 1.2%. Compare this to his country man and strike partner at Newcastle Ba and his ownership is 25.9%. Now I have Sturridge and want rid as Chelsea seem to be falling apart more and more each time I see them an obvious replacement would be Ba on previous form and the amount of goals scored this season. However for £1 million less I can get Cisse and I am going to give him a go.

    At international level where they play together (I presume from a bit of Wiki research) Ba’s record is played 12 scored 5 – Cisse’s record is played 17 scored 10. Also Cisse’s record in the German league is pretty decent to say the least despite playing for a poor team. He was 2nd in total goals scored last season only beaten by Mario Gomez!! In fact he was the most efficient striker in the league winning the EFFIFU (what ever that is)!!

    Another reason to get him is that he scored on his debut. Wearing the no. 9 jersey at Newcastle will come with added pressure so getting his first goal out of the way will hopefully allow him to play with more freedom and so in turn not snatch at chances etc.

    Final point is the fixture list is quite kind for him -
    WOL, SUN, ars, NOR, wba and LIV

    Any way your heard it here first… possibly!!

      have been discussing this exact thing recently, have considered him over Yak, and Ba puts my other upgrades out of reach, frankly I would be inclined to play him in every game from now until the end of the season.

      But Ba is premier league proven quality whereas Ciise is new to the division and will take some time to adjust. It could be a good differential but I like having Ba as he is a captaincy choice whilst Ciise wouldn't be.

      ba has proven to score in tough fixtures, and score big at that. hes on pens. hes having a sensational season without many droughts. i gotta have my BA!

      Yeah, a Kompany and Richard owner here. Hasn't worked out spectacularly at all. Looks like Kompany + Lescott was the partnership to own, but that looked short term with Kolo coming back from the ACON. Hindsight, eh?

      I'm afraid Moses will break his duck at home this week against a defensively weak Villa side. I have the exact same dilemma and I'm benching McClean atm... I have a feeling WBA will turn up for this game and McClean is a winger, whereas Moses basically plays up top with the new formation.

      Dempsey picks himself because QPR should concede at least one goal and Dempsey has a good chance to be part of it. I don't think Hughes has kept a cleanie as a gaffer... ever.. 😀

      I'd say they're virtually the same. Both certain to start imo and not much between them in terms of attacking potential. Santon maybe slightly more attacking but Simpson has a better final ball.

    Generic teams... I posted something similar the other night:

    Everyone's teams are virtually the same right now as the form and fixtures have dictated we all go down the same route. From gw 28 this all changes with many options to transform one's team over the following gws. Planning for this has been a nightmare and great fun... my team will be very different by gw31.

    It may be boring now but it won't be in a few weeks time 🙂
