Rafael Van der Vaart looks set to return to the Spurs starting lineup, after Harry Redknapp confirmed that he has trained all week ahead of the derby showdown with Arsenal.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoît Assou-Ekotto should also shake off respective problems, whilst Luka Modric looks likely to recover from the flu. Their counterparts could well have a reinforced backline with Laurent Koscielny and Kieran Gibbs potentially recovering; a decision will be made on the pair tomorrow.

Ryan Taylor has recovered from an ankle injury for Newcastle as they take on Wolves – whose leading scorer Steven Fletcher is a doubt with a virus. Elsewhere, Junior Hoilett is fit for Blackburn, whilst reports suggest that Tom Cleverely may have suffered an ankle injury during Manchester United’s game with Ajax.

Guys, I rarely do this but I'm mulling some defensive options.

Rival has Richards, so I'd like some City cover ideally but I can be talked round:

    A Senderos > Wilkinson
    B Senderos and Enrique/BAE > Wilkinson and Lescott/Richards (-4)
    C Enrique/BAE > Shawcross
    D BAE and Enrique > Shawcross and Richards/Lescott (-4)
E Something else (but preferably similar)

I know these posts are annoying, but any help would be hugely appreciated!

Alright chaps, was wondering if anyone could recommend a mobile site/app for keeping track of goals/assists/etc. whilst out and about. Only just got a smart phone so a bit of a novice, thought there might at least be a twitter account that updates with those sorts of things on matchday but I've not found one yet. Any recommendations much appreciated 🙂

Sure there is. Just use the armband to catch up. The armband will catch up as much as one differential most of the time, anyway.

Too many people worry about chasing and not enough on just getting as many points as possible.

Indeed, but this is what I'm saying about when do you think the time is right to start douing things differenty. If for example you're only 3 weeks away from the end of the season and are 100 points behind, it's definitely not enough to just get the captaincy right. You will have to take risks at some point.

7 or 8 weeks before the end of the season, depending on how many points you are behind obviously. The doubles are always a good chance to make up ground, with a few of them coming up you could make some decent ground.

I can't see SAF prioritizing the Europa over the PL ... and, if/when fit, Valencia is Gold for Utd. So I'd say that rotation will likely see Tony preferred for PL games - hence: safe for FPL.

Cool....does Enrique>Raylor sound ok to you then, Eric?

        Would then play

        Lindy (Vorm)
        Raylor Simpson Kelly Kompany
        Bale Silva Demps
        Aguero Ba RVP

I've got, and will start, Raylor myself ... although chatter on here (fwiw) expresses concerns over his spot/free kick duties due to Cabaye, Tiote, etc. all being back. So, you might want to look into that more ...

You have a solid team ... I'd be looking to - when making transfers - bring in players who'll be playing in a devastated GW 29 (so maybe that's part of your Raylor thinking?).

If not Raylor, maybe an Evans? I see you've got a bit of an allergy to Utd players, but they'll be looking smarter in the near term, imo.

Raylor was a thought exactly for that reason: for GW 29 but with the potential to do well this week, too. I don't mind if he shares free-kicks. I dont htink he ever had spot kicks at all.

I can't do Evans because I have Lindegaard and I need Valencia and Rooney soon. I'm gonna hold Lindy until its clear he isn't coming straight back in.

My last several weeks have sucked, too, so don't worry. You know your stuff and I like your opinions.

    Quick thoughts on Aguero.

He came off after 80 minutes and what I notice is that a lot of managers do this when they have an eye on their next game.

If there's plans that he'll be benched, I think he'd have more than likely come off nearer the 90 minute mark to the crowd applauding - often the case when a player has obviously been MOM.

City only made absolutely sure of the tie when Dzeko scored on 76, so another reason why perhaps Aguero didn't go off earlier.

Thanks to Tosey's excellent post about cancelled matches in GW29 and DGWs (EYES BULGE, GETS EVERYONE'S ATTENTION - click on my link for it) it looks likely that Spurs, Arsenal, QPR, Stoke, City and Chelsea will have no games then.

Liverpool on the other hand will and have a DGW coming up later thanks to their blank this week. Their fixtures are also improved from GW29.

It looks like Liverpool will be the train to ride from that point. Defenders are the first to spring to mind, with Skrtel/Agger/Enrique offering medium-expensive options at one of the best CS prospects at the minute and goal threat for the former.

The Liverpool midfield is a well-known mess. Adam sticks out as the most consistent performer, with many dead-ball duties including free kicks and corners, although some of these may be taken by the other contender, Gerrard. While he's been in disappointing FPL form, he is a proven FPL performer and if his form improves by then could be a huge differential.

Suarez's talent and sub-heavyweight price make him the only contender in the striking positions. With his crazy shots statistics he seems like a bandwagon waiting to happen, but again like Gerrard we'll have to wait and see.

Now hang on, when you say 'guess' you're implying there's an answer, which is a bit bizarre for something subjective, I guess you're saying based on some measure, like PPI, or passes completed, or something?

'Best' is subjective, or at least vague in its metrics. Ergo: Isacki can't be wrong.

I'm inclined to agree with him on Parker.

I have richards & senderos, if either dont play then i'll only have 2 defenders.

sooooo bring in Kompany seems good to me.

However if Chelsea beat Brum in the FA Cup I think I am right in saying that City V Chelsea will be re-arranged??

Therefore is there anyone else/better than Kompany that I should be looking at?

I have one FT. Defence is currently: Raylor, Richards, Evans, Kelly, Enrique

Was happy to bench Enrique in anticipation of a DGW but the case to get rid is growing. He currently has two confirmed games in the next four gameweeks and they are not games where I'd play him.

Time to get rid? If so, for whom? Cahill perhaps?

I cold get Ba, but I'd have to get Surman in earlier than planned in order to fund a move from Taiwo - Skrtel (unless of course I just swap him in for Richards which I might yet do)

with ur plans goin forward the dave transfer gives u the chance of bein 1st in line when/if the points come rollin in and considering the villa example dave is surely surely gonna take points off ba suppose it comes down to how much u think ur plans will work out and the pool coverage at the back goin forward seems very sensible to me 😉

I would still go for it lad and get Dave. Surman (in for Siggy I guess?) weakens your mid too much. That Taiwo to Skrtel move looks good. Dave could be a really good differential.

    Vorm - Sorensen
    Enrique - Cahill - Simpson - Richards - Taiwo
    Bale - Dempsey - Sigurdsson - Valencia - Larsson
    RVP - Aguero - PCisse

0.8m in bank, 1FT. Am thinking of doing Valencia > Yaya, and Larsson > McClean.
If i did, then i would have 3.3m in the bank. Any suggestions of what i could do next week with that spare cash?
