Another QPR home debut, another red card, another loss. After Djibril Cissé did the honours in the eventual Gameweek 24 loss to Wolves, it was the turn of Mali midfielder Samba Diakité to woo his new supporters with a red card, this time after 33 minutes of the clash with Fulham.

While QPR led at the time of Cissé’s indiscretion, an early goal by Fulham’s Pavel Pogrebnyak meant QPR were already chasing, and the six fouls racked up by Diakité in the 32 minutes of his debut were too many for referee Phil Dowd (fouls number four and six drew the cards if you’re interested). Mark Hughes will now be without both these new charges for the Gameweek 27 visit of Everton.

The other red card this weekend went to Tottenham’s Scott Parker, with just two fouls this time enough to warrant his two yellow cards for fouls on Robin van Persie and Thomas Vermaelen but, as with Diakité, the damage was already done before his dismissal, courtesy of a resounding comeback from Arsenal. Parker will therefore be missing for the visit of second placed Manchester United in Gameweek 27, though the appearance of Sandro from the bench in yesterday’s game suggests a like for like replacement is available if required.

Finally onto the suspension tightrope, and still the solitary name in immediate danger of a ban. Lee Cattermole showed enough restraint in the 4-0 thumping by West Brom to avoid a caution and therefore remains on nine yellow cards for the season. Behind him, on eight yellows, we still find Raul Meireles, John Terry and Joey Barton and now following a booking picked up in the win over Swansea, Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross joins the group two yellows away from the threshold. There’s also a late addition to this group thanks to a discrepancy between the FA and Opta. The FA today confirmed to us that the Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny did indeed pick up his eighth booking of the season in the win over Spurs; our friends at Opta have now tweaked their data accordingly.

GAMEWEEK 27 BANS

  • Gaël Givet (BLA) – 1 Red for serious foul play (last of 3 matches)
  • Jason Lowe (BLA) – 10 Yellows (last of 2 matches)
  • Djibril Cissé (QPR) – 1 Red for serious foul play (last of 3 matches)
  • Samba Diakité (QPR) – 1 Red for 2 Yellows (1 match)
  • Scott Parker (TOT) – 1 Red for 2 Yellows (1 match)

    Continuing from earlier, would you rather have :
    A.Glen Johnson/ Enrique + a 4.5 GK like Begovic
    or
    B.Johny Evans + Pepe Reina, I suppose I could get in Evans for Shotton anyway if I choose Enrique or Skrtel in place of Glen Johnson, but it would cost an extra transfer.

        No, I've just come across a simply wonderful set of transfers in GW 28,
        Richards(Thanks for nothing) ->Evans
        Sess->Nani
        Walters->Miyaichi
        Aguero->rooney for a 8 point hit
        Then next week,
        Hart->Begovic/5 million keeper
        in Gw 31 -
        Shotton -> Enrique/Skrtel. Howzit?

          All six targets look good. I guess the 8pt hit is justified by the reduced GW with everyone who doesn't have a WC probably considering similar. I'd do it.

    Does anyone share my temptation of taking Ba out now that Cisse has arrived? Cisse is playing further up the field and getting more chances. If I downgrade Ba to Pogrebnyak I can upgrade Sssegnon to Nani.

    Sound like a plan?

    This is my team atm 😛

    Vorm
    Richards-Kompany-Kelly
    Demps-Bale-Silva-Sessegnon
    Welbeck-RVP-Ba

    Bench:Krul-Caulker-Santon-Valencia

    I have 1FT and 0.2M to use. Any suggestions to transfers I could do this week? Or should I just stay with my team?

          Lescott really isn't nailed on in the team with K Toure back. In fact no City defender is nailed on apart from Kompany, as I am constantly reminded by my Richards gamble.

          Luiz looks very much nailed on with AVB and gets so far up the pitch. CS seem to be improving.

          Out of those two, definitely Luiz

    Repost 2nd time.

    Hi guys!

    I am chasing two of my mates who have about 130 points on me. So need differentials really.
    Have 1 FT for this week which I think I shouldn’t use.

    My team:

    Krul Vorm

    Kompany Simpson Huth Caulker Evans

    Bale Silva Sess Siggy Dempsey

    Rooney Ba Aguero

    Bank: 3.3 mil

    The have almost the same team the only difference is that one has: Graham, Sturridge and RVP in attack and same midfield apart from Siggy (he has Sinclair), also has Baines and Bardsley (in place of Caulker and Huth that I have), everything else is the same.

    The other mate has Ireland, OX, Bale, Silva and Sess in the midfield and RVP, Aguero and Ba upfront and BAE, Raylor, Shawcross, McAuley and Evans.

    Please share your thoughts;) Udit so far has been very helpful;)

    Right I've been trying to work out how to fix my team for too long, any ideas what to do first... from you?

    Sorenson (dropped) Stockdale (dropped)
    Richards (rested or dropped? it hardly makes a difference) Evans Kelly Santon Taiwo
    Silva Bale Dempsey Valencia (he'd better come back) McClean
    RVP Aguero Ba

      Reply fail - 😆 You should do a Fuzzy esque rant about how the WC has ruined your defense. You should really be able to put out a defense this week without taking a hit, A simple Stockdale/Sorenson -> Krul is good. Would you be willing to a little left field/ take a few hits? or do you want to play it safe?

                Okay, I've got one transfer for you that I've just thought up but you may not like it, seeing as your defense keeps failing why bit make it uber cheap to minimse its effect? Do Richards -> cheapie, Valencia to nani, i'll probably be able to suggest something better by tomorrow once I've thought about it for longer.

          3 Fulham players does seem excessive.....

          Nani, Baines are the most explosive players in the game that are currently underowned imo.

            TBH it's pretty useless, better to have 1 WC, to be played either anytime or in the transfer window.

            On reflection though, I think it's added a bit of of fair play and flair to the cup comps we are in.

            Everyone had a chance to get the same team, more or less. That's made a really tight start - winning teams will have to improve as the competition progresses.

              I think it's good there as a second chance. Without a second chance, many people would give up on the game halfway. And with the luck of the game, anyone could find themselves with a useless team at some stage.

      Neither (with caveats).
      Rooney scores against big teams as much as smaller ones.
      Nani scores when he hits form - could end up being rotated as well if he's not performing. If he hits form I'm all for it.
      Valencia and Jevans and then wait for the form of the expensive ones.

        That's what I'm on atm. I was always going to wait on Nani. And I think it's the most prudent strategy. But he's so streaky by the time you think he's in form he could be gone.

        Rooney looks like the natural replacement for Aguero very soon - I think for now I'll replace Aguero with Rooney when the fixtures turn, and wait on Nani.

    Vorm
    Richards-Kompany-Kelly
    Demps-Bale-Silva-Sessegnon
    Welbeck-RVP-Ba

    Bench:Krul-Caulker-Santon-Valencia

    I have 1FT and 0.2M to use.

    I was thinking to do Welbeck>Pogrebnyak, good move or too much Fulham?
    Or maybe Welbeck>Yakubu?
    Or maybe a punt on Gabby for Welbeck?

    Few points I want to put out there. Feel free to chip in.

    a) Was thinking about Nani & Rooney when WC'ing for the run in. Good plan?

    b) Also GW30 onwards looks good for Liverpool defence. Would you double up or just go with one?

    c) Yaya instead of Silva or maybe not?

    d) Has the 5-2 defeat put you off Spurs defence or just a bad day at the office?

    e) I have Papiss but I also like the look of Pogrebnyak. Realistically is one or the other with RVP/Rooney/Aguero to fill the other 2 striker slots?

    I'm looking to take a hit to replace Sorenson, but that's bonkers if Vorm is fit next week. Taking a hit would also facilitate Rooney/Nani (haven't picked one yet) for GW 28.

    D is currently: Kompany, Enrique, Raylor, Taiwo, Kelly

    Al Habsi + Vorm will give you a solid run until season's end.

        Thanks for the reply! He was someone I was considering (regret ever getting rid to be honest).

        Is it worth a hit though?

          Vorm's shits should have cleared by Sat. Don't take a hit unless you have to.
