This morning has seen a couple of fixtures, which were previously affected by FA Cup and Carling Cup schedules, afforded new dates that will have significant bearing on Fantasy managers’ thinking.

Following on from last night’s rescheduling of the Villa v Bolton match to Gameweek 29, Everton have this morning confirmed their Merseyside derby with Liverpool has been switched to Tuesday March 13.

The game was originally set to take place in Gameweek 26 but was cancelled due to Liverpool’s Carling Cup Final with Cardiff- it will now be played in Gameweek 28, affording both Merseyside clubs the opportunity of a double Gameweek.

Liverpool now have (sun, EVE) on the agenda, while David Moyes’ side face (TOT, liv). Tricky fixtures for both sides, no doubt, but Fantasy managers will be keen to get in on the action. With Sergio Aguero facing a trip to Swansea, his dire away form may see the Argentine shipped out for Luis Suarez as frontlines are re-adjusted on the back of this morning’s announcement. Liverpool’s fixtures look particularly enticing from Gameweek 30 onwards, and many Fantasy managers may bring forward their plans a little earlier than anticipated now.

The likes of Leighton Baines will no doubt find himself the subject of investment, too, with the Toffees current five-match unbeaten run indicative of an upturn in performance which has seen them defeat both City and Chelsea, while recording clean sheets in both games. It’s also worth noting that Steven Pienaar will be unavailable for the Spurs game, due to the conditions of his loan deal, leaving the South African with just the trip to Anfield as his only option.

The downside is that, at present, both sides still have a blank Gameweek 29; Liverpool’s trip to QPR and Everton’s home clash with Arsenal have yet to be granted a new date. The fixture list is quickly being settled, though. Blackburn have also announced this morning that their home game with Sunderland has been set for Tuesday March 20, which falls into Gameweek 29.

At present, then, there are now only three games yet to be afforded a new date for that particular gameweek, though this could increase to four if Chelsea win their FA Cup replay with Birmingham. It’s clear, however, that our previous worries over Gameweek 29 are now being resolved, allowing Fantasy managers the chance to plan in advance once again.

I'm starting to get a feeling about Suarez, he played well against MU and Cardiff. However much i dislike him, he looks dangerous.

Why couldn’t it be a good team with a double gameweek so that I could load up on players without too much worry? Working out when best to play my wildcard just got that little bit trickier 😕

Of course I also need to factor in which of my Champions League group opponents I want to smack down with my awesome wildcard team (note - awesomeness of wildcard team may vary) 😉

Means Everton and Liverpool will most probably miss GW29 devaluing the DGW a little.

Pienaar is so injury prone, he'll probably miss one of the games. Baines doesn't take FK's or corners if Drenthe is on the field, uncertainty up front.

Possibly a Liverpool defender. Just sold Enrique.

Spanner in the works. The last thing I want are any of their players really.

    Hate DGW's, hate them.

Well made my mind up to stick with Enrique now.

The last DGW I gained a mega 4 points even with Bale captain, then wasted two transfers getting rid of Hibbert and VDV!

I think it's less likely they will crowbar another game in there. None of those sides involved are in Europe (I include Arsenal in there), so they could better find a date later in the season.

I need money to do Naylor to Enrique and Aguero to Rooney. Even if LIV does not play in GW29, I will have 11 players on the pitch. it will cost me one hit, but it will be evened at least by LIV 2+2 points. Yes, Bale can run riot against Norwich, but unexpectedly.

Wildcarders – correct me if I’m wrong, but it appears the options are either:

    a) WC in GW28, bring in 3 L’pool players for their DGW, perhaps an EVE player, and load up on MUN players.

    b) save the GW27 transfer, bring in 2 LIV players in GW28 and then WC for when MCY, TOT, CHE and STO have a DGW?

    If so, best option?

So it'll be double GW, then a blank GW for both? If that's the case I think I'll probably leave both alone. Wouldn't expect too much from either team, really.

Tosey posted his thoughts the other day re: GW29.

However, he put that the Chelsea replay is on the 28th Feb, so should give them 3 weeks to put the Chelsea game into GW29 if they win.

But the replay isn’t on the 28th Feb, it’s on the 6th March.

So does this now not give them enough time to put Man City vs Chelsea, if Chelsea bt Brum?

Assuming Chelsea win their cup replay, fancying getting rid of Sturridge for GW29 at 6.9m selling price. Pomegranite at 6.0 looks good, but can we continue to ignore Holt at 5.0???!! Definite GW29 fixture, 10 league goals, nearly 100 points, what more do we want for 5.0m?

I'm tempted. Will free up 2.2m too!

No. Not imo. I had a long hard look at this, last two weeks. McClean's form is faltering, while Sessegnon is a bit like Adebayor, running around smiling. His form is excellent. However, I bought him at 6.3 ... so htat may be a factor.

Chelsea also have a CL game on the 14th of March.
I'm not sure they will want to cram another game in so quickly for GW29.
Given that the games are City and Spurs, so important to have fresh legs for those.

I'm not sure how likely the Spurs v Stoke will take place midweek GW29.

Spurs have Chelsea away and Stoke have Citeh at home GW30. Not very favourable fixtures to be playing 3 or 4 days later.

For the DGW I'm thinking Reina, Skrtel and Suarez then ditching Suarez for Rooney GW29. Reina and Skrtel can stay even if no GW29 as they have great fixtures afterwards. Will almost certainly go RVP (c). Won't bother with Everton since their DGW fixtures are crap and it's Everton players.

Not sure if it'll still be larsson after he missed earlier in season. Might even be gardner if he keeps up his good form and place in team. Sess took one back end of last season, be nice if it was him and would justify that extra couple mill a bit more
