You can take it as you will, someone else could have provided those scores or assists, but to what extent - also add parker into that equation and I think its just too much for Tottenham to overcome. United arent as likely to concede as Arsenal either and even with both of those guys on the field, they got played out the park in the second half. At the end of the day, that is why they play the game, but if both teams are on their day, I still feel United has a very strong edge.

Also it is not like Tottenham are built around Bale, but that he fits right in makes it worse because they will not find a better option than him within the teams system. United lost Ronaldo and needed to make up for his production and yet they won the league the year after he left. I think that had in part to do witht he fact that their whole team structure had to and did change. He was the focal point of their offense and once gone their whole structure changed to compensate for it. Tottenham is not built around Bale and while that may seem like a good thing, the truth is that in keeping their structure the same, nobody in the current squad will be able to fill his void.

Depends how you look at it - if you had ade since gw 18 and captained him every game - he scored 47 points vs van persies 59. He was also out one gameweek so assuming your VC only scored 2 points that would mean that it is Ade(49) vs RVP(59). That would leave you with 20 points captain wise to make up in other positions and an extra 4.1 in money to spend. Upgrading a surman to a walcott at that time would leave you 3 points short of the mark, but that wouldnt even be your best option. You could have upgraded a 4.5 defender to BAE who scored 62 over that period which is +30 over most 4.5 defenders and then still had over 2.0 left for a midfielder worther approx 6.5 to make up the 2 points in that 9 gw period. There are many 6.5 mids that have scored over 20 in that period including surman who scored 30. So the truth is you would have been better off with ade(c) every week, surman, and BAE(instead of one of budget defenders) than RVP Surman and a 4.5 defender. and this is still with 2.0 in the bank so you could do much better.
