Pavel wotshisface. He’s a bit good. We really must learn to pronounce his name correctly – with thousands of Fantasy managers shipping him in, he’s threatening to stick around.

While we practice our “Pogrebnyaks” in “All Aboard”, Mark and I also lament the costly break granted to Sergio Aguero and David Silva, debate the double Gameweek temptations and pick apart our hosts freshly dealt wildcard.

We’ve even included the entire episode this week, rather than cut the thing off half way through. We spoil you, we really do.

    A: Skrtel

    B: Das Racist

Leaning towards A. Never captained a defender before - could be fun.

Yeah I'd say just 1 hit is preferable but there is nothing wrong with getting two liverpool players as a riskier alternative imo. All your defenders are expendable so it doesn't matter too much who you take out. Keep the long term goal in mind in terms of who you keep.

One of them to a spurs defender at some point works out well so I see no problem with that. Would you keep Raylor or Kelly though? Kelly is only out for 1 match but could lose his place. Raylor may also make way for B Arfa or shift to LB.

Even at LB, he is on all of the set pieces. Maybe even penos now that Ba has missed: who knows?

      Very unlucky, Newman.

Kelly's ruled out btw. I like A but that would mean a double Liv defense. Are you confident about it? If not, I would just do Komp > Skrtel and start Raylor (for his attacking potential) and Caulker (threat on set-pieces).

I hate the idea of Caulker AND Vorm against city. I don't think his set pieces are even great.

I am not confident of two liverpool cleanies: possible, but not positive.

I just relized I can do Kompany>Skrtel and Kelly>Enrique, and then play

        Enrique, Skrtel, Raylor

Might be the best choice. I don't know.

Do you like Caulker that much?

          Solid moves.

Any chance of breaking even with the 8-pt hit, it's got to be this one. Also, facilitates the acquisition of BAE/Walker in gw31. United seem to be jinxed with the CS, so you aren't missing out much there.

Cocky is up there with England's best defenders, imo. Does the basics right, great work-rate and yes, he is effective on set-pieces partially due to Siggy's delivery ofcourse.

Surely not. Raylor seems to be on all set-pieces except penalties. All you'd need is for one of them to get into the back of the net. He's fantasy gold when he starts. Hang in there!

and attack of Rooney, VP and Holt will outscore

For me, it's Walcott or nobody from Arsenal midfield.
Ox is a constant rotation risk, and even though he is a great player he won't start every match.
Ramsey has been warming the bench for a while now, and we have been in form, no reason to change that.
Rosicky interests me, he's been fantastic of late, but with Ramsey and Benayoun there, as well as his back problems he seems to be carrying, i think he is a risk, however of the 3 he'd be the one I chose.

I think Ox picked up a groin strain. It's risky with the chances of him coming on for more 1 pointers from the bench.

Ramsey - Exhausted, young, confidence a bit shot. Not first choice when everyone is fit.
Rosicky - Best option of those. Great player when fully fit.

    Good evening my Deadzone Friends;

    Has anyone seen the MLS FPL rules for bonus points? Pretty cool, it takes all the BS guessing out of the equation. Their actually could be a strategy for picking certain players. Would be interesting if the Premier League FPL adopted such a point structure;

    Attacking Bonus

Players will score extra points for positive play:

1 point for every 3 crosses (A cross is defined where the ball is played to their own player in the penalty area)

1 point for every 3 key passes (A key pass is one that leads to a shot at goal)

1 point for every big chance created (A big chance is one where the analyst determines the player should score)

-1 point for every big chance missed

    Defending Bonus

Players wil also score extra points for good defending:

1 point for every 6 clearances, blocks or interceptions

1 point for every 6 recovered balls

-1 point for every error leading to a goal

I like this idea and all, but it isn't BS proof:

Error leading to a goal: total opinion

      'Big chance' : total opinion

Key pass is a ridiculous thing to reward, considering it could be meaningless, or could lead to a very poor shot at goal.

Agreed, howver there does not seem to be many bonus points for pure strikers. They do not generally cross, or make too many key passes. I think they should add shots on target!

Fair comment but it is getting better. Fan interest is growing (50,000 in last nights match in toronto for CL). 60,000 expected in Montreal for their home opener this weeknend. If it continues, there will be lots of money to attract more quality players. Not to mention our quality youth might not be so quick to play in europe!

Barring any last minute injury news, this is the WC team I'm going with. Thoughts?

    Mignolet, Bogdan
    Skrtel, Enrique, JEvans, Caulker, Shotton
    Nani, Dempsey, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Surman
    RVP, Rooney, Suarez
    Bank 0.0m

    Rough transfer plan
    GW29: Skrtel -> Kaboul
    GW30: Nothing
    GW31: Walcott & Suarez -> Bale & Adebayor

Get rid of Suarez for Ba or something like that, and use that money for Bale or Silva. Bale especially is must have, imo.

But I know youre gonna ignore me on that, so that aside, it looks great.

I might wait to get Kaboul: not sure Spurs are up for defensively now that Dawson won't be reliable with all the matches they have.

Haha, moi ignore? Spurs were solid at the back before Dawson came back, so I think they'll be fine without him. Kaboul looks pretty nailed on with Dawson out and at 5.5m he generates enough cash to bring Bale and Ade back for when their fixtures get good. He also gets the odd crack at a free kick (albeit they normally hit row z). Will bench him in GW30, other than that he'll likely start most weeks for me with their run in.

But Jinswick, I know you'll be back with more tweaks before the deadline!

The lack of Man City is the first I've seen from a WC team. If they hammer a few teams you could end up with some bad weeks.

        Nope, this is it!!

No Man City coverage is a risk, but I just can't seem them scoring loads in the next few games, and with Kompany out they're more likely to concede. Cue a 6-0 away win at Swansea (Aguero and Silva hat-tricks...)

I'll possibly bring 1 or 2 back later on.

        2) Did think about this, but I want Ade in from GW31 and Holt makes this awkward.

Thanks to the constructive criticism from Elninrules, Breadbin and Scratch I've had another crack at my wildcard team. RMT's gratefully accepted.

    Schwarzer, Mignolet
Lescott, Evans J, Sagna, Assou-Ekotto, Caulker
    Bale, Walcott, Sigurdsson, McClean, Scholes
    Rooney, RVP, Pogrebnyak

No Liverpool, but I'm only interested in their defence and I don't think you'll be looking at 2 clean sheets. I'm after an all round team to help see me through to the finish.

      Like GK
DEF solid but possibly spending too much here.....maybe Sagna > Enrique/Cahill /Senderos and BAE >Kaboul to free up cash to strengthen mid's

MID's - very weak to me. IMO you need one of Mata,Nani,Silva,Demps

With your current team you might as well play 4 3 3 every week as Siggy,Mac,Scholes are possible benchers. IMO that is a poor tactic.

I personally wouldnt double up, causes me to use another transfer to ship one of them out the following week, or eventually. I try not to double up as much as possible, unless a team had a resoundingly comfortable home fixture like Norwich, Swansea, Wigan, Blackburn at home etc.

Most people here are doubling up though.

Play Reo....Sess OUT, Richardson a huge doubt. They will struggle to attack imo.

I know.....bad luck with Aguero being benched last week. My VC was Ba and missed out on Dempsey or RVP....ugh gutted.

My luck was so bad that i got my first peno save from Mingolet.....too bad it was against my (c) replacement Ba.

Im going to turn it around.

Get a new "dummy" facebook address so you can join. It will be fun.

              Off to bed....take care man.

that's what up to 23% of FPL managers are asking themselves right now

it depends on your defence and view on point hits I guess

morning deadzoners. Should I take a 4 point hit this week?

    Schwarzer (Mingolet)

    Evans, Taiwo, Skrtel (Caulker, Santon)

    Bale, Silva, Dempsey, Siggy (McLean)

    Ba, Rooney, Rvp

Have 1.4 in bank (have used my 2 FTs) Can afford to get Suarez in for Ba or Enrique in for Taiwo (though my main rival owns Enrique) My rival has taken a hit this week.

I wouldnt double up on Pool defence. Skrtel's good enough IMO.

Get Suarez in, I personally want him too, but my plans to get Rooney in ruin that. Captain him.

Rooney first priority. Then Adam. I dont think Adam will do much for the DGW anyway.

    Repost:
    Fellow fantasy pundits

    Given Kenny
    richards caulker evans kelly santon
    bale silva dempsey moses mclean
    rooney rvp sturridge

Have 2FT’s so thinking of doing
A: richards + sturridge + given >>>> shotton, suarez and mignolet
B: richards + sturridge + given >>>> mcauly, suarez and mignotet
C: dont want to remove sturridge since i think chelski will hit some form but if everyone else has suarez and he does well….

    thoughts?

already did 2 transfers for a 4 point hit, should i keep Kompany or transfer him for Enrique?

Already have Skrtl as LVP coverage

if so, should i take an 8 point hit or play WC?

thanks in advance for any help

Is there an obvious choice on which one to start this week - I keep switching them...

    a) Sigurdsson (MCY)
    b) Surman (WIG)

I have the same problem and I chose Surman. Norwich are in form too

I normally go fixtures over form, but I actually fancy Swansea to get something out of this game, and if they score I think Siggy has a much higher chance of being involved than Surman does if/when Norwich score. Norwich midfielders also a bit of a nightmare - knowing my luck I'll start Surman and he'll come off the bench for 1 point!!
